why still want to buy from PI that AD now already bring in the MIJ HRV (vezel)

want to fck by PI?

Hi all, was considering between vezel and Hrv lx.

In terms of features does Hrv have something similar as Honda sensing? What other things that Hrv don't have?

Calculated the cost and seems like the overall total between the, is around $2k. Any other consideration for choosing vezel?

It's all about costs..

Some bros need to stretch every penny.. even if it means taking risks.

I guess everyone enters into a deal with their eyes open..

I am kiasi, AD all the way...  even for servicing..

Not me leh bro...

You still see plenty of PI Vezels being registered.

Having said that, the inflow seems to be less. When I see the latest SLE, SLF plates, I notice a lot less Vezels. A few SLD HRVs and some LCR plated cars, but the influx of Vezels seems to have slowed down a lot..

sorry ... i didn't mean you

i mean who on earth will consider to save $2k over 7 years loan and go to PI instead of Kah

On insurance aspect the car insurance u get does not cover the HU that is locally installed by the PI. AD factory installed HU are all covered by your comprehensive motor insurance etc... If one day happened that your car met with and accident. No major surprises for you.

One PI owner (claimed they share the same installer with AD in SG. These people really are cheats. Who claimed and bragged they are the largest PI in SG. Someday they will meet their makers for doing biz that way.)

Drive over ubi warehouse area where most PI store their stock, you will see fleets and fleets of Vezel. Put a cctv there and maybe it's the same over weeks and weeks. Sell like hot cakes? Hummm... Maybe when the price is back to below 85k range.

Let's not rub it in.. many bought their cars during the time when the PI was the only choice.

And the PIs helped to force Kah to bring the HRV from Japan, so all credit to the brave bros who helped.

Moving ahead, let's hope this kind of pressure can be extended to other models / makes.

If Kah gets cocky, they may be punished as people will vote with their wallets.

My friend was so pleased with the build quality. Almost spat at the Civic and the Mobilio ... her facial expression would have been great on a Honda ad  [:p]

Yes, agree. It's always important and good to have open market competition. Good for consumers. No good when only few player.

The other days i just said that while coe price dropped by 1.5k, KM raise HR v price by 2k, obviously they hv gotten enough booking to think they have an edge over PIs. Howereve, while most consumers are happy that KM have finally brought in HRV , KM better know it is consumers who support them too.

By the way could you share what is so different in build quality between civic and hr v ? I sat in both the other day in the showroom but i am unable to tell the diff . Thanks.

These are the ones they have bought.. so there are already so many, so the influx will slow down. Unless they have not gotten COES for them, then the COE will go up for sure..

One of the different is jus in front of you when you are inside the car. The steering wheel.

Feel the control of the buttons.

Civic is more plastic.

HRV is of better quality.

Start with the steering wheel..

Press any button

Move to the central console. Squeeze the sides, then go and press on the doors.. there are so many things on the Civic that creak.. the fit and finish also leave a lot to be desired.

There are so many clever design features in the HRV. Controls all fall into place. A lot of effort has been put into it by the Japanese engineers.

The HRV uses a new engine, that can fight with the larger capacity and higher FC 1.6l ancient motor in the Civic.

Sure the Civic has more legroom and it's been reported to have better ride and handling. So there are reasons to buy the Civic, the build and old engine notwithstanding.. For some, the Civic monikor is sufficient.

The HRV does have a more busy ride, and it may be partly due to the torsion beam suspension. It's a small car after all.

IMO, the Civic is the flagship volume seller for Honda. It deserves the best engineers, designers and the highest level of detail.

Sure, a Honda Accord may have better engines, space and even materials, but the Civic has always been the volume seller.

When my FD was due, the first thing I did was to look for a new Civic.

I was so disappointed with what my money could buy. Not only did I feel disrespected that Honda tried to put the engine from my generation of Civics in it, they also used cheaper and poorer plastics compared to a ten year old car. The final insult was that I will have to pay more for a 1.6l car compared to my 1.8l one.

And sitting in the same showroom was a supposedly lower end model the HRV with a new engine, better design, and a superior interior..

When car buyers spend so much, they don't really want to be taken for a ride..

Compared to Civic's traditional rivals, the Corolla, also Thai made, the Mazda and even the Subaru, each own is much better made.

The main thing going for it is the ride and handling which are reported to be very impressive. I expect Kah to start giving discounts for the Civic once the initial euphoria dies down and they begin to count the sales or lack of it for their top seller.

Now with the Uber / Grab phenomenon kicking in, some buyers of the HRV may switch to the QQ or even the Forrester as they may not want to buy a car associated with a rental company.

Furthermore Toyota has it's own CHR coming soon, so it will be an exciting 2017 for potential buyers of cars with SUVs on their minds.
