Sunburnsam 2nd Gear November 22, 2015 Share November 22, 2015 The gremlins came to bite me. Had to do a 2nd crank on wed (got a feeling my 18m old batteries need a replacement). Couldn't start car on Thurs mng Got my bro to jump start for me and went to change out the battery. After that, realised my boot open switch (rear Alfa logo) is not working. Still can auto open with the fob. Does anyone knows if there is a configuration that disable this switch? 18m for a battery is quite good.....what is the BRand/DIN you are using ↡ Advertisement
Jiex 2nd Gear November 24, 2015 Share November 24, 2015 18m for a battery is quite good.....what is the BRand/DIN you are using Hoppecke 74Din. I thought it could last like 24 months and changing them at 18M is just preventive measures.

Echo2623 1st Gear November 25, 2015 Share November 25, 2015 Reply to therestar, I have the Stock brembo brake pads for front.. From my understanding, the 159 have a few variety of brake calipers differing from years.. Correct me if I'm wrong (left the Alfa scene some time liao..) 07 - 09 : 1 pot caliper 09 - 11 : 4 pot silver brembo caliper 11 onwards : 4 pot red brembo caliper There's a different for the red n silver brembo in the design of the brake pads.. Dunno about the biting power as some bros did mention before the red brembos bite better And of cse those Italian colours, green, gold r painted ones from Wat I understand.. Mine used to be gold.. Sunburnsam 2nd Gear November 26, 2015 Share November 26, 2015 (edited) For those selling your Alfa soon......watch this from clarkson lol...the way he describe the ownership of an alfa is quite amazing for someone who drives/owns so many different super cars. Count_duku 4th Gear November 26, 2015 Share November 26, 2015 (edited) haha.. he nailed it. I just changed my clutch (expensive!) - was driving horribly for a few months already. Also fixed an oil leak on the transmission side of the engine (crankshaft seal or something). Considering I fixed a leak on the belts' side a year ago. Sorry to hear about your fuel pump and coolant problem - changed the radiator hose next to the power steering recently too. Pop the bonnet at least once a week to check, usually can spot something before it leaves me stranded. Here's another cool Alfa video - Edited November 26, 2015 by Count_duku

I like the Alfa for the "manual" nature of everything, manual transmission, gauges, hydraulic steering, etc. I went to see a Jag XE recently and everything is controlled by computer, don't even have a water/ oil temp gauge. Yeah I can relate to what you mean. And the Alfa requires you to "know" alot about it......thus the "relationship" becomes deeper also. Like right now reading and finding a solution to my gearbox shift slip/flare issue....reading from ATF fluid to Solenoid ......the attachment is there.
