https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/cnainsider/army-fake-reviews-online-taobao-amazon-tripadvisor-sales-10448454 marketing strategy or a scam? i dont mind getting paid $1,600 a month just from writing them though... usually before buying stuff on taobao/ezbuy i'll read through the reviews first. esp in the case of ezbuy, it's easy to spot real from fake reviews. usually genuine ones will have actual product photos. and i would prefer to read reviews weighing both the pros and cons. if company A has 20 good reviews, it may just look dubious. but in any case, take any reviews with a pinch of salt. especially items from taobao. one man's meat may be another man's poison. it's the same for bloggers/influencer. they are paid to advertise and endorse products from their sponsors, if not how are they going to earn? though there are genuine ones out there. you usually see the new "influencers" or the less popular ones being more eager to say niceties about their sponsors. those are the ones you should avoid.

http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/written...0726-22sws.html Article from Australia, but still applies in sorts here. Shows you how expensive these new cars are to fix for a minor accident. Just ridiculous really. No wonder insurance keeps going up! The car manufacturers make it so damn expensive to fix with these modern complicated cars.

Dear Mr. Cameron, Please find below our suggestion for fixing the UK 's economy. Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan: There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them

Hey bros, I received a LTA letter for summon for parking opposite double continous white line. Just wondering how do i appeal? i checked onemotoring website and only found the mode of payment. Anyway i found this online, not sure if its true anot. Please be informed that for illegal parking summonses issued on or after 1 Nov 2010, please send your written appeal to LTA, 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701, or fax to 6553 5329 or 6752 3760. If you wish to make payments for the summons, you can do it online through www.onemotoring.com.sg website, or any AXS Stations, SAM, Singapore Post counters, vPost, Bank facilities or proceed down to make payment at LTA counters. For illegal parking summonses issued before 1 Nov 2010, if you wish to appeal, please send your written appeal to [email protected] or appeal in person at Traffic Police HQ, No. 10 Ubi Avenue 3, Singapore 408865 Anyway, i parked my car at the landed property area and there is NO DOUBLE CONTINOUS white line there( i checked after receiving the summon) and i am not blocking any door or whatso ever. But still i receive this summon, i suspect the owners called to complain? So i was thinking how shld i write my appeal letter? mentioned that there is no white line but i regreted my actions? Pls advice

Could i juz check wif fellow forummers on this topic. The scenario is like this. A car was involved in a pile up. Front end is gone and airbags deployed. What is the likelihood of the insurance company writing it off? Its a 6+year old continental make.

Top 20: 'Accidental' humour The following collection of rather humorous accident claims in England isn't new - it came from a website and has probably been circulating about for a while now. But since the topic is automotive based, it's worth a share and hopefully, a laugh. 20. "I started to slow down but the traffic was more stationary than I thought." 19. "I pulled into a lay-by with smoke coming from under the bonnet. I realised the car was on fire so took my dog and smothered it with a blanket." 18. Q: Could either driver have done anything to avoid the accident? A: Travelled by bus? 17. A Norwich Union customer collided with a cow. The questions and answers on the claim form were: Q - What warning was given by you? A - Horn Q - What warning was given by the other party? A - Moo 16. "I had one eye on a parked car, another on approaching lorries, and another on the woman behind". 15. "Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don't have." 14. "I thought my window was down, but I found out it wasn't when I put my head through it". 13. "A pedestrian hit me and went under my car". 12. "The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times before I hit him." 11. "In an attempt to kill a fly, I drove into a telephone pole." 10. "I had been shopping for plans all day and was on my way home. As I reached an intersection a hedge sprang up obscuring my vision and I did not see the other car." 9. "I was on my way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident. 8. "To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front I struck the pedestrian." 7. "An invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my car and vanished." 6. "The pedestrian had no idea which way to run, so I ran over him." 5. "I saw a slow-moving, sad faced old gentleman, as he bounced off the roof of my car" 4. "The indirect cause of the accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth." 3. "I was thrown from the car as it left the road. I was later found in a ditch by some stray cows." 2. "I was going at about 70 or 80mph when my girlfriend on the pillion reached over and grabbed my testicles so I lost control." 1. "The car in front hit the pedestrian but he got up so I hit him again."

STOMPer Michelle sent in this picture of a vandalised car, seen at Hougang 373A carpark, with words written in spray paint all over it. This STOMPer says:

1. Instead of saying so much about how local car magazines CMI, why not we put into action and tell them what should a more meaningful test review be? 2. I've the following suggestions (not in order of importance): a) Spaciousness You often see magazines mentioned how spaciousness the car is, but there is no benchmark nor somethings that they measured against with. They should have something to tell us how spacious is the cabin rather than based on technical specifications, for example: b) Fuel economy Instead of relying on manufacturers' data, they should be doing their own tests instead, for example: c) For road performance, again, instead of relying on manufacturers' data, do a 0-100km, 100-400km and etc. Run a few rounds and get an average result. d) For interior, Please take more photos rather than write more words. Meanhwile, try to compare the differences between new model with the ex-model. Don't talk about climate control like a big in-thing. e) Handling, Work harder and don't be lazy, go find a better place to do handling tests. Not just around a corner in an open space car park. Mention why a particular road or area is chosen for the test, explain what they want to achieve from the test. Testing rpm should be mentioned too. f) Pricing When a writer says a car is expensive, please mention why? are OMV, COE and etc included in the formula? g) NVM Go and invest in a NVM tester. Instead of saying how quiet a car is, use the tester to measure before pick-up, after pick-up, initial 60km/h and the next 100Km/h. h) Street Survey No harm taking a few comments from street survey or in the car showroom or expo. People may have different views and perception. Again be very clear what you want to ask them. 3. Please feel free to comment and add. Thank you very much. Regards,
