Hi guys, Need some advice on whether it's worthwhile to self import 5 series (G30) or X3 (G01) from UK to Singapore... I am looking at it purely from the perspective of cost savings. I have business there, so I am familiar with the import process (not cars though), the savings seemed to be quite significant, although there's no local warranty / maintenance included: 520i G30: S$150k-160k (vs S$240k+ locally) X3 G01: S$170k-180k (vs S$210k+ locally) Hopefully someone with experience can shed some light on this? My primary concern is the repair / maintenance costs of BMW, which seem to be the highest among continental cars, with the lowest reliability.

Is it worthwhile to PI in a BMW/Mercs from Malaysia?
Jwee85 posted a topic in General Car Discussion
Just thinking out loud. Malaysia is assembling many local BMW/Mercs. Not sure is the selling pricing 'cheap' or not, but sure can have special arrangement right? Also the shipping cost will likely be low, compared to shipping it from Japan/UK. Possible to get cheap PI cars from Malaysia? Why not?- 29 replies

Currently need to change my singtel 3G mobile broadband to 4G because singtel is no longer offering 3G plan. Is it worthwhile to change the 3G dongle to 4G dongle to benefit the speed offers by 4G plan. I need for the laptop for use in the CBD area. I understand the download speed may vary from area to area. I use it for email, surfing and watching youtube. 4G dongle is not cheap slightly over $100. Is there a significant difference to the download speed for my usage to justify spending the money for a 4G dongle? Thank you for your input.

Need help here. Traded in my existing Toyota Corolla for a new Altis recently. I've this Sony XR-CA440XPod with CD Changer (10 disc) in my car now. The new Altis will come with CD & MP3 player (1 disc). According to the salesman, it is a Toyota brand. So, need bros here to advise: - is it worthwhile to take out my Sony CD Player and install it in the new car? How much to get workshops to do it? - will the secondhand car dealer complain as my existing car will then have no CD player? I was told that I need to hand over my present car when I collect my new car (1 to 1 exchange). - any other better options? Please help advise. Thks.

Hi all! Am thinking of getting new 2.0l car, am wondering if the Sonata is a good buy. I've test drove it and found it to be a surprisingly pretty good car. Only thing no air bags! Anyway, with it's low price, who can complain. What i don't know is how it behaves after a few months...any problems? fuel consumption? Servicing problems? Thanks all!
