Hi brudders, Was at siglap and kena a fine. There wasnt any double yellow line or what.. so tot it was clear to park... When i return, saw a summon.. upon reading it states: Jalan Jamal, Parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant under rule 22(H) RTR. Anyone here knows how much is the fine and will there be any demerit points? WTF, if cannot park, why dun they juz draw a freaking double yellow line, and having a hydrant behind a tree to let ppl fall into the trap. Was doing a search just now, and ppl who kena all kena at siglap too... So, anyone here knows the contribution to national development?

This happened this morning within the HDB estate, after exiting MSCP, but before entering the main road. Dangerous lane cutter. I know i am a bit slow within the estate area, but there are lots of people walking within the estate area in the morning, sometimes thinking they are the king of the road, which is why i exercise a bit of caution. Had this guy misjudged his distance or there was somebody coming in from that exit/entrance, confirmed crash. So impatient to get to work ah? Gave me a little heart attack in the morning...

hi all, i backed into another car yesterday. my fault. exchanged particulars and all. It's not my first "accident" but I didnt realise you now have to report to insurer within 24Hs. Does this apply to the offender as well? It's now past 24hrs and I'm not the owner (but is a nominated driver) and im still waiting for a callback from my insurer. i'm so so scared of further reduction to the NCD. Can any bro advise?

This happened to me a few days back. Decided to take CTE as there was a jam on AYE (at about 6.30pm). Went past one gantry and to my surprise, another gantry within hundreds of metres. so deducted twice! wondering if any bros here encountered the same? Attached are the map locations of the consecutive gantries. 1st gantry 2nd gantry Did a search and couldnt find similar threads posted on these gantries. So do avoid this road during peak hours, have a nice day

I thought his right hand man Tharman PROMISED 30% increase over 10 years during GE2011? Now, PM lowered expectations by one third to 20% increase over 10 years?

http://sg.news.yahoo.com/bitter-internal-c...p--sources.html Shame that SPP is falling apart, and I hope the outstanding members like Jimmy, Wilfred, Benjamin SPP's hope actually until this point, join a party that appreciates them more. Chiam is a icon but he must realise that the party is not about him and him only. During GE, SPP rallies had people chanting "Chiam See Tong Chiam See Tong" and not SPP SPP. Not like in a WP rally when people chanted "Work-ers Par-ty". Sounds like only SPP is Chiam and vice versa, and no space for the upcoming people.

Frankly reading and trying to understand the maths problem stated in the ST Forum letter already took me 1 1/2 minutes and to solve within another 3 1/2 minutes without using simultaneous equation is beyond my capability. Are you able to solve it within 5 minutes? Just glad that I was born many moons back and not have to face this type of maths question nowadays... Can understand this dad's frustration and hope that I will not pose a similar question to the authorities when my children faces such a situation in the future... From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_710009.html Don't hurt pupils' self-esteem with tough questions Published on Sep 7, 2011 AS A PARENT, I wonder whether some teachers who set exam papers are really interested in gauging the ability of pupils. Sometimes it seems as though they are simply intent on making life miserable for them. Take a look at this maths question in a recently concluded Primary 6 preliminary exam: 'Three halls contained 9,876 chairs altogether. One-fifth of the chairs were transferred from the first hall to the second hall. Then, one-third of the chairs were transferred from the second hall to the third hall and the number of chairs in the third hall doubled. In the end, the number of chairs in the three halls became the same. How many chairs were in the second hall at first?' I challenge readers to solve this problem in five minutes, which is all the time a Primary 6 pupil has to do it. I challenge school principals to do it, without the help of equations, which Primary 6 pupils aren't equipped with yet. Setting such difficult questions serves no educational purpose - it only undermines the pupils' self-esteem. Stephen Lin

Hi, what do you guys think? will you go ahead to buy if it is cheap? Last time not many wish to sell the units there until last few weeks which has another suicide case again. There last one was 2008 if not wrong. Initially I always wanted to buy as it is near to my parents place. It is also the cheapest seaview unit u can get ( i think) both malaysia straits and the reservoir view.My wife and parents are very against the whole idea. One incident is already quite hard to accept but now there is another! I am not really a superstitious person. I always look forward in staying there. I guess I will have to shelf that idea for my family good.Sian!

I have a question. I paid my car last week. The agent said i can get my car this week. My question is how did they manage to do it? I was told by my colleagues that it takes two weeks to get a license number. I wonder if my agent just wants to get my $$$ - that is, her commission.
