Just curious, what is the COE amount which you all are willing to pay? For those who have a car already, how much COE have you paid? For me it's $10k maximum. And I have been waiting for many years for the COE to drop but to no avail. I waited and waited, until hairs become white already, but the COE still remains very high, I cannot afford it. When do you guys think COE will drop to 10k? Can you guys afford to get a car now? At this time and date? Sad case for me though. -

SINGAPORE - A total of 8,800 males who had become permanent residents (PRs) under the sponsorship of their parents were enlisted and served their National Service (NS) over the last five years. About 6,100 have taken up citizenship. During the same period, about 4,200 males who had become PRs through their parents' sponsorship renounced their PR status prior to serving their NS. These figures were provided by Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, in response to a question posed by Nee Soon GRC MP, Dr Lim Wee Kiak, in Parliament today. In a written reply, Dr Ng said that the failure to serve NS will be taken into account when these former PRs apply to study or work in Singapore, and they had been warned about the consequences at the point of renunciation. The total male PR population is: 13000 eligible for NS But of which that became citizen is: 6100 meaning..............................Less than 1 out of 2 male PR is willing to become a citizen!

A new study has suggested that women are inherently no more virtuous than men. It's just that, in the past, they have lacked confidence or opportunity to stray. Like men, women are finding that power is a potent aphrodisiac, and they are giving in to the thrill of illicit lunchtime assignations and the sheer excitement that accompanies their transgression. Nor do they feel any more guilty or ashamed about it than a man would. Joris Lammers of Tilburg University in the Netherlands, who conducted an anonymous survey of more than 1,500 readers of a business magazine, found being powerful makes women more prone to be unfaithful. He questioned people, from top corporate executives to ordinary employees, about whether they had had affairs. They were asked how powerful they thought they were and quizzed on other factors including their feelings of confidence, and what they thought their risk of being caught was. The results showed a link between power and infidelity, regardless of gender. "The strongest predictors are not moral belief, but power and opportunity," Lammers said. Perhaps we sld be wiser when we answer any surveys from the govt in future? Surveys do have an impact on the govt policy given the recent plans to double ERP charges at certain gantries....
