As above for discussion. Example - NX200 wheelbase is 2660mm, whilst Forrester 2.0 is 2640mm. But I "felt" the NX200 a bit tight as compared with the latter. Food for thought.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the E 300 L - a long wheelbase E-Class sedan - at the Auto China 2010 show. The E 300 L is the first model by the Stuttgart-based premium brand to be developed specifically for the Chinese market. It features 14 cm more leg room for the rear passengers and a wheelbase of 3.014 m - with the overall length of the E 300 L measuring 5.008 m. The extended wheelbase variant will also come as an E 260 CGI model. The new model is part of a growing trend in the Chinese market for extended wheelbase variants of premium brand vehicles. And the market is a very important one for Mercedes with its sales having grown 112 percent in the first quarter of this year. The E 300 L will be manufactured locally by Beijing Benz Automotive Corporation - a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Company (BAIC). The Beijing International auto show run from April 25 to May 2.

If there's one thing a Mandarin enjoys, it's being chauffeured. And because China has no small number of the world's Mandarins, BMW has created a long-wheelbase 5 Series exclusively built in and provided for that market. The model is produced in BMW's Shenyang plant, where it's given an extra 5.5 inches for the rear passengers who travel in "luxurious grand touring comfort" due to the rear axle tailored to each model. These CDM specials even get a bespoke rear seat. Three engines are to be offered in outputs starting at 204 horsepower and going up to 306 hp
