Paid a visit to the newish NTUC warehouse at Joo Koon. Located right next to Joo Koon MRT station, an easy drive with ample parking. Decided to visit because a friend told us that they had interesting things on sale, though we had to buy membership. Ended up we bought membership - usually $35 for a year but because this was SG50, it is now $35 for 2 years, for NTUC members. The place is indeed quite big and sells many interesting stuff in larger sizes, that you can't find at the normal NTUC outlets. Ok, enough words. Let my videos do the talking. The place is big. If you like chips, you can get them here in big bags. For the stuff that are heavily marked down, like under huge discounts, be sure to check the expiry date. They usually will expire quite soon. Since we bought membership, we are likely to go there again. My wife wants to buy some chips for her friends. They make cool party gifts.

Lebanese capital rocked by huge explosion https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/middleeast/live-news/lebanon-beirut-explosion-live-updates-dle-intl/index.html At least 78 people were killed in a massive explosion that shook the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Tuesday evening, Lebanon's health minister told Reuters. The blast appears to have been centered on the city's port area. A CNN producer witnessed "chaotic scene" in Beirut emergency room following the explosion. Lebanon state-run NNA news reported that a major fire broke out near Beirut port and firefighting teams rushed to the scene and worked to put out the fire. Story developing.

Big Box opened today! Yes, today, 27 Dec 2014. Big Box is a warehouse retail mall, located very near to Jurong East MRT station. We decided to go check it out. It was crowded! True to its name, it felt like a huge warehouse. The most interesting was the hypermarket on the ground floor, selling goods in a warehouse concept. Were the stuff sold at the hypermarket cheap? Not really. Some things seem a bit cheaper than say NTUC, but overall the prices were comparable. But I could be wrong. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hypermarket. There was also huge space devoted to the sale of furniture on the 2nd the 3rd floor. It felt like Big Box wanted to compete directly with the likes of Ikea in this respect. This was the first day of opening and things were still a bit messy. Still, this place is an interesting addition to the retail scene. Check out the video. http://youtu.be/cdulBMKBLlE

anyone knows if there is any law on workplace temperature ?? we are 3pl and we are stationed in a big warehouse (half a football field) at the cargo complex. the whse has many wall fans but sometimes the weather gets so hot that the fanned wind is just hot air also ... it can get up to about 32deg in the afternoons. although there are roller shutters but when we open them, more hot air gets blown into the warehouse ! if there is such a law to indicate the temperature of a workplace, I would want to bring it up to the hirer so they have to make the environment better for my staff.

You might have heard or read stories of warehouses or buildings filled with old cars. Basically, this term is known as a barn find, even though it may not be always be at the barn. Usually, the place will be filled with a variety of old cars. Some may be in a complete form whereas some might not be. In Brazil, there is a warehouse that is filled with cars of a certain model and that model is the Volkswagen SP2 - a model that was built exclusively in Brazil. There are a total of twenty-three Volkswagen SP2s in the warehouse. Sixteen units are in a complete form and the remaining seven are disassembled. Most of the cars have some of their parts stripped out. The disassembled cars are stacked up on their ends and this may not be good for their bodies. It is rumoured that the owner of the warehouse and these cars are putting the Volkswagen SP2s for sale. The cars may be stripped of their parts but there are also many SP2 parts lying around and probably there would be enough to make a complete car if anyone is willing to buy one. Other than the Volkswagen SP2s, the owner has other models too. He also has a six door Volkswagen Kombi van, a Karmann Ghia TC and a Fiat 128. It is not known if these cars are for sale. hi all, I'm running a very small biz from home, selling misc products/ accessories. I'm actually working from home now, storing my products at home to keep overhead as low as possible. Only problem now is that family is planning to move and sadly the new home, it will be very hard to store my products ( quite a big amount). I'm looking for a place where I can store my products and maybe have a little "office working" space. I'm not interested in the storage space at IMM those kind as I'll need space to open the products, check them and repack them again and if possible, pack them onto pallets. As for budget, as cheap as possible :) Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
