i have bought Thai, Vietnamese and Cambodian white rice … and verdict is only thai rice comes out non-sticky. anyone else tried Vietnamese or Cambodian white rice and results were as good as Thai white rice ? do you have any special practice for cooking Vietnamese or Cambodian white rice ?

Eng Yong Kit was set free after the trial as he had been detained long enough, local media reported. The court heard that on February 2, Kit forced his 24-year-old Vietnamese girlfriend into a hotel room on District 3’s Hai Ba Trung Street. He then locked the room and blocked the door with a bed to prevent others from rescuing her. Police and representatives of the Singaporean Consulate General in HCMC arrived at the hotel, but they failed to talk him into opening the door. Eight hours later, police had to use smoke grenades and break in to rescue the woman. Kit was arrested. He told the police that he met his girlfriend online and they started dating in June last year. When the woman, believed to be a sex worker, decided to break up with him, he did not take it well. The court said it handed down the lenient sentence because there were no serious consequences and the woman also requested to drop charges against him.

The Deyi Secondary School girl was pinned under the bus for a few minutes until a passer-by - Mr Lim Choon Guan - pulled the girl to safety. Mr Lim was pushing his bicycle along the pavement nearby when he heard shouts coming from Circuit Road. He rushed to the scene and saw the girl lying conscious under the bus. He told The New Paper that the bus was still moving because the bus driver did not know he had hit someone until pedestrians gesticulated to him to stop. The girl was eventually lifted by Mr Lim and two other men to the nearby grass patch, and eventually brought to the hospital in an ambulance. Mr Lim also told Lianhe Wanbao that the bus driver seemed to be in his mid 30's and was a Chinese National.

As per title. My fren is 40 years old now, not exactly earning good bucks, ie. below 4K so local girls would deem him as "unsuitable". Not good looker either. However he has gift of the gab though, so sianing local ah lians no problem. Sian local career girl or chiobu(non lian) below 30 years old is a big problem, BUT, he wants a wife and he is quite besotted with those from Vietnam after seeing a video on youtube where 18 year old SYT looked so yummy and innocent, and curvaceous and demure etc. You get the picture ya. Anyone with a Viet wife? Or perhaps know someone who does. Can you share the pros and cons. I am supposed to go with him to Vietnam in about 2 years time to "pick" a wife. I feel sad for these women who are forced into taking such extreme risks with what is the rest of their lives. These women are being horded like their commodities - animals even. Only their appearance, figure and whether they're virgins matter. Their worth as humans is simply narrowed down to doing household chores, cooking and sex. I think little of men who objectify women this way. I doubt they'd be very good husbands. I pray that I'm wrong about most of them

Hi all, I extended my indo maid's COE last year but now she claims her mother is ill and her family wants her back (standard reason). Told her that I experienced this story too many a times. And everytime when this happens, when they return back home, within 1 month, their savings will be gone and they'll call to ask me to let them come back to work again without having to go thru the agents again. I ever experienced my another ex maid writing a letter to my current maid asking her to cherish the work here and don't be like her, going to HK got more salary but regretted. I was puzzled. Maids in HK very jialat meh? Expectation issues? Anyway, now I'm searching for a new maid and possibly considering a vietnamese / burmese maid. Has anyone used them before or knows where to get them? I assume they more expensive than Indo maids? I just realised there's vietnamese maids when my relatives told me about it during CNY gathering, saying they are quite ok? But when I checked with my previous maid agencies, none of them do vietnamese / burmese. I only know near my office, there's a place for vietnamese brides.....not maids. Appreciate any contacts / advise from anyone. Thanks.
