Urgent! Thanks!

Many MCFers here are experts in your own fields. Just curious. Is there any topic you could talk for at least 30 minutes without preparation? Maybe let me start the ball rolling. I have been trained in the field of semiconductor. Maybe for me it is semiconductor or Agile/Scrum master? I am not exactly an experienced scrum master but due to covid, I have attended quite a number of 2-Day courses so much so that I could now turn off the PC and start talking like them for 30 minutes. The content can be quite repetitive and overlapping. On a side note, if you are able to talk on your topic for at least 30 minutes, you may want to consider starting an online course or create youtube material for that topic!

I noticed that recently many new topics have been added to the wrong category. I understand that some topics are pretty grey and there may be some confusion when adding new threads. However, straightforward ones such as car grooming, repair & servicing etc should not be finding its way to Lite & EZ and so forth. At the same time car related threads should not end up inside Lite & EZ too. Doesn't warrant a warning but just a reminder to all and also make life easier for the mods. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I am wondering would it be better to have a heading for travel under General so we could post everything about travel there. Easier for us to search and read like Road trips. Just a suggestion only.

I have an interesting discussion on another internet forum with a friends. It was a 3D design forum, & he commented why another person (from Hong Kong) was making a window (3D) that open outwards. He (Swiss) said he never seen a window that open outwards & comment that even virtual items should follow real world logic. I told him that in Hong Kong, its very populated, & people live in small Apartments (not unlike Singapore). Opening the windows inwards will eat up the already limited space, which is a possiblity why windows are open outwards.. Anyway, we manage to find pictures of windows opening outwards (amazing isn't it!), but he said, oh, but that's not the NORM. I proceed to tell him, that in Singapore, windows normally open outwards or with a slider, so windows opening inwards is not a worldwide norm. Now comes the interesting part.... He said he was curious how many people in Singapore fall out of the windows in the morning! Like a true blue Singaporean, I proceed to provide a picture of a typical HDB window & said, its a requirement to have metal frame on window frame (to prevent what he said, fall out of windows), but people DO FALL out of windows every now & then from cleaning the windows, as the outerside of our sliding windows or outwards opening windows can only be reach......from the outside! Never in my life have it cross my mind that people falling from window to clean windows is just fundamentally how the windows is open! I know someone may say if they (mainly maids these days) are more careful, or educated, this will not happen, but it doesn't change the fact that the design give the issue in the first place. Would you guys have trade a little space, to have the windows open inwards, for a little safety, not just cleaning windows, but also preventing falling over an open window (ok, normally not an issue as we have metal frame). My guess is most people will rather have the extra space, but it would be interesting to hear your views or have how the window is open & its potential problem cross your mind.

Seem that the forum have changed it's format not to show the post with other member replies. Instead it is showing the hierarchy discussion. I find this very unintuitive/not user friendly. Mods' any comments?

... at the bottom of the page. I think this is quite annoying as I have to scroll up all the way to see the first post. Not that much of an issue but hopefully this can be sorted out. I do apologize if this issue has been brought up before.

Hi administrators, in the old forum, there used to be an indication on whether each sub forum had new posts and new topics added. Is there somewhere on this new forum where we can see that info? Was wondering because it would be less meaningful to enter a sub forum when no new topics have been posted since the last visit.

its is kinda cool when I see on movie or TV , ppl execute the heel-and-toe move. may be its a guy thing to think ."wow.. ain't it cool if i can do it too? " so I got myself a manual car. not because it is cheaper, not because it less parts to maintain comparing an auto. more so, I guess it is about wanting to be in control. To be able to feel that I am in control of how the car should behave. Not that auto can't do it. Just that the feeling with clutch-paddle and the stick give the sense of achievement. do u get this kind of sense of achievement to be able to drive a manual car? its a hobby. yes, its a hobby. when ppl ask u why u still using the stick when u can get auto cars? its a hobby. same as asking why ppl go fishing when u can get it much cheaper at the supermarket? :) anyway, just I anyhow thinking.
