https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10291649/Radical-new-laws-stop-young-people-buying-cigarettes-New-Zealand-goes-smoke-free.html?ito=social-facebook Anyone aged under 14 will be banned from EVER buying cigarettes in their life The age limit will be increased each year until it's illegal throughout New Zealand The target is to wipe out smoking entirely by 2025 as part of 15-year scheme Other changes include only allowing the sale of tobacco with low nicotine levels However, the new law will not impact vaping, with Dr Verrall saying tobacco smoking is more harmful and remains a leading cause of preventable deaths in New Zealand, killing up to 5,000 people each year. So everyone will just switch to vape there, which is illegal in Singapore. I'm waiting for tobacco tax comments. Those driving EV should be the first to quit smoking because it's quite the hypocrisy to claim you're going green to help the fight in climate change yet not know that all phases of cigarette production contribute to greenhouse gas emission, and let's not forget the consumption. I could be wrong but I'm sure there's a significant amount of environmental footprint with the carbon dioxide and pollutants released into the atmosphere. 😶 So let's go full EV and quit smoking by 2040 or make it sooner, 2030.

Two suspected peddlers leaving a store selling contraband cigarettes in Geylang. Both have since been arrested. It is not just police and Customs officers who are on the lookout for cigarette smugglers. Tobacco companies here have also been hiring more private investigators to help tackle a problem which eats into their business. "It is in our interest as a company to understand how cigarettes are being smuggled into and distributed in Singapore," said Mr Ann Hee Kyet, corporate affairs manager of the biggest tobacco company here, Philip Morris Singapore, which distributes brands such as Marlboro and Next. Representatives of the other two major tobacco companies - JT International Tobacco Services and British American Tobacco - made the same point to The Sunday Times. That is where private investigators like John (not his real name), who has been working for tobacco companies over the last decade, come in. Last September, he got a tip-off that a smuggling ring was using a taxi to transport contraband cigarettes here. Dubai bans selling tobacco for 24 hours Why isnt our government doing something similar? Can we file a lawsuit about them allowing the pollution of air with 2nd hand smoke and eventually slowly poisoning us? Dubai bans selling tobacco for 24 hours DUBAI: Nearly 300 stores in the Gulf emirate of Dubai will ban the sale of cigarettes for 24 hours on Thursday to mark the World No Tobacco Day, local media reported. "In Dubai, nearly 300 outlets including petrol stations and supermarkets will stop selling tobacco for 24 hours," reported English daily, The National. Another daily, 7Days, said the move was to spread awareness about smoking hazards. "The move is aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of cigarette smoking to make people think about tobacco consumption as it kills millions of people and affects public health," the daily quoted Redha Salaman, director of public health and safety at Dubai municipality, as saying. "One in four deaths is linked to smoking-related diseases" in the United Arab Emirates, another local daily, Gulf News, quoted a hospital official as saying. The sale of cigarettes in Dubai is prohibited to anyone below 20 years of age and public smoking is banned in the emirate, including in hotels, restaurants, cafes and offices.

Alcoholism is much more a social bane than smoking. Yet alcohol ads are everywhere and tobacco ads are banned... Just wondering what screwed logic we are blindly following. I'm not saying that we should promote smoking. Rather, I'm saying that we should also not promote drinking

As topic. Tried to find in many supermarkets but can't seem to locate it any where. Wonder if they discontinued the range. Does anyone knows where to get it still?
