  1. Dear forumers, thanks for taking time to read my story. hope you can provide me with some solutions and advice on how 2 handle my debtor. what happen was a friend that i've known for 5 years approach me asking for a loan of 10k to help him with his investment. he assured me that once his loan from the bank was approved he will return me the money which he said was about 2 weeks. in addition, he showed me prove that he was also selling his HDB by showing me his post in Propertyguru, saying that he will have the money in no time. being naive, i borrow him the 10k with a IOU stating that he will return me the money as soon as his bank loan is approved. 2 weeks passed and i had yet to hear from him. so i called him up and he start giving alot of excuses saying that the renovation loan was delayed as the banker need to visit his premises to ensure that the renovation was done etc. however, i found out who the banker was through my own means and after talking to the banker. i realised that his loan has been disbursed to him! to make things worse, i contacted his property agent and ask how is his property doing. to my dismay, the property agent said the owner rejected an offer of 330k! ( his price to sell is 340k). now it has been about 4 months since i borrowed him the money but he has yet to return me a single cent. i have considered getting a debt collector to collect back the money but i understand that it is not a guaranteed procedure. the debt collectors will only go up and ask for the money the debtor until he give up.i have also approached lawyer but the fee is 4k to sue him to court. i am at my wits end as i do not know what to do. i have the IOU with his signature. after discussing with lawyers he said my case is 90% win(provided the guy dun declare bankrupt). this has been a traumatic an painful learning experience not to trust people too much.... Appreciate if some brothers give me advice? am open to any low cost methods to collect back my money! thanks in advance!!!
  2. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/tired-of-rude-drivers-put/1276860.html SINGAPORE: Wondering why you’re seeing bow ties on cars in the streets? A movement in Singapore is taking off, aimed at making the roads a safer place. The Gentlemen Movement campaign started in December 2013, but has only recently started making its rounds on social media. Their Facebook page describes the project as “a social initiative to cultivate and install road courtesy, patience and good driving habits in Singapore.” MP for Tampines GRC Baey Yam Keng has also thrown his support behind the movement. In a YouTube video released by the group, he said, "For the record, we are not doing this for the Government, any movement or any council." The movement aims to put a bow tie on one out of every 1,500 cars – there are more than 970,000 cars in Singapore – signifying the drivers’ intent to be more courteous on the road. The organisers are hoping to raise USD$15,900 (S$19,700) to help pay for the production of collateral for the movement. Have not seen it yet, anyone knows how much/where to buy?
  3. Encountered an accident on way back from KL. Accident occured after Yong Peng. The Mitsubishi Grandis lady driver apparently fell asleep behind the wheels, drifting towards the centre divider, before smashing into it, and in her reflex, she counter steered left back to her lane, hit a Malaysian lorry before landing on its passenger side. The elderly lady front passenger was bleeding profusely on her head, as the lady driver (beside red car, making phone call), her maid and children made their way out of the MPV, uninjured. Motorists quickly stopped to render assistance. Luckily, a doctor happened to be travelling in the opposite direction and rendered help. The 15 men could not turn the MPV back on its wheels despite emptying the car of all its contents. The doctor and a few men then entered the MPV via its rear boot door and pulled the injured passenger out. The 15 men finally turned the MPV back on his 4 wheels after repeated attempts thereafter. There was a lot of liquid leaking out from the car engine. Thankfully, the MPV did not catch fire. Its front was totally smashed. The 2 front airbags must have helped, but this also emphasised the importance of side air bags, which could have protected the passenger's head when the MPV landed on its side. Must say the Grandis is a tough car. Malaysian Police arrived within 15 minutes and ambulance within 20 minutes. Impressive an defficient considering that the accident on the NS highway is a distance form the nearest town. Motorists travelling up North on long distance trip, please have enough rest and do stop at the several rest points along the way of you feel tired, or arrange to have a buddy driver to take over the wheels. Drive safe. You only live once.
  4. im consider relatively young to own a car. so among most of my friends only im driving. got my ride end last year. after i get my ride starting to feel different. when im out to meet my friends i must go fetch them from their house. i drive them there still must pay for parking (and of cause petrol) for example i stay in bishan, my friend ask me accompany her go buy things from tampines. so i must fetch my friend from her house and drive her to tampines and shop when i got no business to do there.. i might sound abit stingy but everything is money.. still must drive back to toa payoh after that.. once awhile nevermind but every time go out must drive them to the place and fetch them back. end of the day who is going to pay for my petrol? parking ? i work so hard for the money but they didnt appreciate me at all at least bother to treat me dinner or buy me movie to let me feel better.. any advise to counter them ? sometimes even more dulan, go their house to fetch them i still must wait for them to get ready instead of coming down straight when i reach.. wtf right!
  5. Yesterday evening after my work, i driving home from my workplace which is at ard 9pm plus at woodland. As my car is approaching a High slope whereby my car is picking up speed, A guy who own a Green color Sportbike(more than 600cc) who came from behind high beam me a few time expecting my car to speed up to 100km/h on a slope. At that point of time, as a biker (I'm also owning a bike and car), he can just go to the next lane and overtake me or just follow behind. The biker after high beam me a few time ride to my left shoulder lane, look at me (I just ignore him) and then speed off. As i'm in good mood, i dun wanna make him pay for a new rear bumper or give him a chance to stay in Changi chalet for few weeks or worst come to worst letting him submit his IC to government. I know riding a big sportbike is fun and riding on 1st 2 gear is no fun for a big bike. However, such inmature low brainer will one day be taught a lesson on how to be a discipline rider by other motorist whom is not in good mood . Really endangered his own life and also spoilt my driving mood.
  6. Its not the same feeling when I first got my own car 4 years back. Once in a while I would take public transport to get to my destination (not during peak hours). Could find occasional joy in being chauffered around albeit in public transport. Find driving now a dreadful chore and I've lost the enthusiasm to drive. Anyone of you have this feeling? Any recommendation to bring back that loving feeling? All advices welcome.....
  7. "Your queue position for a 5-Room flat in Bedok is 01091. As your queue position has exceeded 2 times the flat supply, we will invite you to select a flat if there are flats available after the applicants ahead of you have made their selection." and total applied for this was 1200++.. I have been paying many $10 balloting, for BTO, for watever new flats HDB is offering.. and the queue number i get is always so huge so near to the number of total applicants!

    Sick n tired

Of posters "talking" to each other in threads where other people are discussing about the topics and there they are, discussing nonsense about themselves in the threads. People are not interested in your discussion and you should have the courtesy to take it offline. U know who are are.
  9. Guys... I am getting a bit dissapointed with this car. I don't know why, but the accelerator pedal is very stiff. After an hour of driving,I can feel that my feet is so tired the moment I get out of the car and step onto a floor/ground. It takes so much effort to press it down while driving. Nowadays, the moment i think of getting into the car, I get a bit worried. It is so damn straining. And I don't think SA will do anything. Most probably they will say it's normal. What should I do?
  10. Combine them with the Honda Acty!! (yes, I spelt that correct...) Shown in the 2002 Tokyo Motor Show, this concept basically looks like a mini-prime mover-trailer combo, which in typical Honda fashion, manages to squeeze even more flexibility into an already zany idea. The trailer portion for example, has a floor panel that can be removed to create a low-floor rear cargo bay (just look at the pics) Its roof is fitted with a power outlet rail incorporating lighting and 100 V outlets, while the side lining is bolted to the walls and contains pockets, cup holders and other easy-access utility items. And the side panels can be fitted to provide a door or window. Did I mention the pop-up bed loop? And check this out, the Acty's 4WS steers the vehicle's third axle, minimizing the inner wheel differential movement for smoother, tighter cornering capability. Who says living in your car can't be fun?

    Tired foot!

My Kia Sephia (M) does not have a foot rest. Recently I went to see the new Spectra, and shocked to see that the auto model also does not have one! Anybody knows of any after-market footrest that I can use? Thanks and have a happy new year!
