I wonder if these jiuhu vehicles were to come across here to SG. So how would our LTA response to this?

Hi All, Have shortlisted the above. Zen is half the price of the other 3 brands (3M, Coolnlite, Vkool) though but not sure if it performs as well. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Honda has filed for the patenting of touch-sensitive window tint and the patent will allow users to control the windows’ tinted area via touchscreen-like inputs. Seen on paultan.org, the ability to darken windows using electro-photochromic technology is not new but no manufacturer has allowed the occupants to control the amount of shade via pinch movements. While the image suggests its application for a vehicle’s side windows, the technology could be applied to the front as well as the rear windscreen. This could be the end of sun visors if this feature appears in its production models!

hi guys, had a bad experience for the first time in JB after going there for so many years. my car's front passenger window was smashed and my fishing gear was stolen in the middle of the night. my car doesn't have any window film/tint whatsoever and after this experience, i'd definitely like to invest in a good security/alarm system and perhaps a 'shatterproof' window tint too. i am seeking all forummers advice on the type of car security systems currently available in the market that can take full colour videos, produces sharp, piercing, sure-wake-the-neighbours-up kind of alarm and a device to alert me too when i'm away from the car. Also, are there any proven shatterproof window tints here locally? after this incident, although i will not stop going into malaysia, but i'd definitely would want protection for my car substantially increased.. help? thanks! Dex

Anyone actually got fine or have to *ahem* due to their darker rear window tint in Malaysia?

Hi There are many types/colours of window tint for the wind screen (for the top part) But what i see from shops: it's either opaque type, full solid tint type and those more common types where the color fades towards the bottom of the tint. I am keen to get the last type but i found that, towards the bottom of the tint, it's actually white and that during night driving, the street lamps lights falls exactly onto that area and disperse the light making it pretty distracting. I have observed on some cars their tint are almost blends into the wind screen, not sure whether it comes with the car by default or what. I cant seem to find the peel. Anyone can advise that and where i can have that done up? Tks koh

After reading what was published yesterday about how Boleh Land gonna fine R300 for S'pore cars with tint less than 50% at the back, I've decided to remove my tint as I travel to the other side quite often...really sad to see my tint gone but I rather stomach the heat than to hand over my hard earned dosh

was screen tint film 2 years ago, as LTA standard: front 75% light through and rear 25% light through, but after 2 years under hot sun roasted, feel front almost 100% light through and rear also more than 50% light through, not private at all liao[:/] how come like that?

Extracted from http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/viewPost1917.aspx Your car windows may be tinted too dark for Malaysia. Lawrence Lee, 47, was on his way to Malacca on Feb 10 when he was stopped by the Malaysian traffic police for having side windows that were too dark. According to Mr Lee, the traffic police tested his windows and found that the light transmittance was about 30%, below the 50% required in Malaysia. Mr Lee was fined RM300. The official website of the Malaysian transport authority states that 70% of all light must be able to pass through the front and rear windscreens and 50% of light through the side windows. Offenders can be fined up to RM500 and even be imprisoned up to 2 weeks. In comparison, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) allows darker rear windows in Singapore: the resultant light transmittance for the rear windscreen and rear passenger windows only need to be more than 25%. For front windscreen and front side windows, the requirement is 70%. In other words, your tinted rear windows may be perfectly legal in Singapore, but run afoul of the laws in Malaysia when you drive up north. "I just want to raise the awareness that you can be booked for things other than speeding, and I urge other drivers to be careful," Mr Lee explained. "I wonder if they'll book me for my big sports rims next time?" Looked like Malaysia damn "Bway Song" Singaporeans and is trying to find fault with us, sometimes I was thinking, is it worth risking going inside??

http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/viewPost1917.aspx Please beware before you enter North. But I see many SG cars here have their windows very tint which definitely fail the LTA specs...hmmm
