What is wrong with taxi drivers nowadays? Terrible, terrible, terrible ! So fed-up I sent the following complaint to SMRT. Wait till I get my in-car video camera and next time when such incidents happen again, I will send the video recordings straight to the Traffic Police. ========================================== To: SMRT I am writing to lodge a complaint against SMRT taxi driver of SHB 5968 U. On 13 Oct 2013, at approximately, 6:16pm, I was Bukit Batok West Ave 3 traffic junction (Lane 2), waiting to turn right into Bukit Batok Road. I was the first vehicle. On my right (Lane 1) was SMRT taxi SHB 5968 U, also the first vehicle. When the traffic light turned green in our favour, both our vehicles proceeded to turn right. However, the SMRT taxi SHB 5968 U, instead of turning from lane 1 into the corresponding lane 1, dangerously turned into my turning lane (lane 2) instead, almost causing a near accident terrible accident. I had to immediately jam-brake and blare my horn to register the danger. The SMRT taxi driver (SHB 5968 U) was unhappy with being horned at and tailed me to the next traffic light. He stopped next to my car (it was red light), wound down his window, and I wound down my front passenger window (where my wife was seated - behind were my young children). He made some hand gestures and I told him he should turn properly from lane 1 into the corresponding lane 1. He then made some smuck facial expressions that he saw nothing wrong with his driving, before flashing his middle-finger at both my wife and myself. He then sped off. We travelled along the same direction and over at Brickland Road traffic light junction, when it was red light, i managed to take a photo of the SMRT taxi concerned (SHB 5968 U). I am registering my complaint specifically on the following: 1) Dangerous and inconsiderate driving by SMRT taxi driver of SHB 5968 U - turning from a lane 1 turning lane into a lane 2 turning lane and almost resulting in an accident. 2) Rude and unbecoming behavior with the flashing of his middle-finger at my wife and myself I encourage SMRT to review the in-cab video camera of SMRT taxi SHB 5968U and its black-box, if any (I understand Comfort delgro cab installs such devices). It will show very clearly how your SMRT driver drove so dangerously and inconsiderately. I saw that there were passengers in the taxi as well. I encourage SMRT to try and contact them and i am sure, they can verify how your SMRT taxi driver of SHB 5968U had flashed his middle-finger, unprovoked. The relevant illustration and photo is attached for reference. I am extremely appalled and troubles over this callous and dangerous SMRT taxi driver of SHB 5968U. He had not only shown his lack of understanding of prevailing driving rules, but also displayed an unbecoming behavior that speaks so negatively of SMRT, an established Singapore public transport and service provider. I would like SMRT to investigate this matter and I do sincerely demand an explanation as well as SMRT's follow-up actions taken against this terrible driver of SMRT SHB 5968U. I look forward to SMRT's prompt update. Thank you. For all forummers information, I posted full-plate number as I read the forum guidelines and noted that the previous ban on posting full-plate numbers have been lifted. FYI, i posted full-plate numbers as I read and confirmed from forum guidelines that this previous ban on full-plate numbers have been deleted.

Was about to turn into ECP when I saw my friend's FB post that there is a 5km jam on ECP towards city. Did anyone know what happened?

Only 1 lane passible to traffic this morning..... Lane 3, 4 and 5 closed due to traffic accident and only lane 1 vehicles can pass through. Heard from radio, jam from Eng Ngo to Steven Road. Must be a very serious accident until closed 3 lanes.....

Hi guys. I'm new here. Have never ventured into ICE all my car ownership life because I personally like things "original" and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." But anyway, I just bought a 2nd hand Mazdz2. The ex-owner had an ICE installed from I don't know where... (suspect JB - brand of speakers "Soundstream") which I thought sounded absolutely horrible, worse than my stock ICE in a BMW which was already bad enough... and he claimed he spent nearly $2,000 on them! 1. PROBLEMS When I got the car the RIGHT tweeter had NO sound, or was weak and cracking. And at volume "2", the ICE was already quite loud! So basically, 0 = off, 1=on, 2=loud, 3=damn bloody loud, 4=inhumanely loud. So the first thing I did was to look under the seats at the amp... 2. AMP AND WIRING HORROR What a terrible job!!! The amps were not secured and there wasn't much slack in the wiring (which is bad for the wires). The amp was also in the way of the rear passenger's legroom. As I fiddled with the fader and balance, I found out that the amps had left/right and front/back wired wrongly. From here, I'm already thinking to myself - what else was wired wrongly? Maybe +/- also reverse, who knows?! 3. AMP GAIN + LPF HORROR There were two amps. One Sony amp for the components, and another (I forgot the brand) amp for the sub. I found out the component amp had gains turned up to the MAX which resulted in a buzzing noise from the working left tweeter. I fixed the gain and swapped a few incorrectly wired cables. The I found out the sub amp LPF was turned OFF which resulted in horrible hums from the sub. I turned it ON, tweaked the LPF frequencies, set the gain (which was at MAX also?!). I sat down and "enjoyed" some music for the next 1 day. After tweaking the gains, LPF, it was much more bearable but I must say the tweeter suck! It's too loud (vs. the components) that I had the high frequencies right in my face and it was very uncomfortable to listen to. Wife also didn't like the "spider" emblem on the tweeter. So I started venturing into removing the tweeter... 4. TWEETER CABLING HORROR So I removed the scuff plate and some interior panels to reveal the hidden tweeter wiring and this is where I started to see some of the UGLY cabling job. The tweeters had nice high quality cables soldered to them, but right under the dash it was twisted together with cheap cables that seemed like stock cables that the car came with and then black-taped all over making the cable all yucky and sticky. I cut the cables, removed the tweeters... Me digging for tweeter cabling... *** INTERMISSION *** P.S. Although I have a seemingly simple 2-way hi-fi at home, I am no car ICE expert. But I must say I am a computer engineer, and I totally HATE terrible cabling jobs and this 2nd hand car has opened up my eyes to one of the worst cabling jobs I've witnessed in a car...

Dear car owners and potential car owners, Just to share my personal bad experience with all of you. I recently purchased my car from CAR LINK ENTERPRISE C2 located at Turf City. The unit is C2. Upon viewing of the vehicle, the front compartment lock came off at the first instance when I open the compartment. The sales person by the name of ANDY immediately told me they will send it for repair and ensure that the lock is fix upon collection of my vehicle. I took his words since they are doing a business and would not want to tarnish their reputation over a car compartment issue. I paid a deposit and cleared all the paper works and drove off the vehicle. On that very SAME day, while I tried to open the compartment, the locked came off again! I realised that CAR LINK had simply use some glue to stick back the lock and hand the vehicle over to me. I was shocked by their dishonest behaviour and immediately called up Andy to ask him why the device is still not fix. He told me that this is due to wear and tear and is unavoidable! He then refer me to a workshop at woodlands and when the mechanic saw me, he said immediately that if the issue is regarding the COMPARTMENT lock, please don't bother to come because it is BEYOND repair! I ask him how could he say that when Andy the sales person from Car Link Enterprise refer me here. He told me he was the one that service the vehicle and the lock issue is a KNOWN issue all along and there is nothing he can do. I will have to call back ANDY to resolve this because the only way is to REPLACE THE ENTIRE COMPARTMENT WHICH COST $500-600! I was really fuming because I took time off from work and travel to woodlands only to know that is a waste trip and ANDY is simply trying to waste time on the issue! I immediately call him and ask him why a businessman like him with a big shop want to cheat on such issues and his irresponsible words really shock me and I ask him if he is going to be responsible for this issue and he said that he will check with his BOSS and call me back. The call never come from him. I called Andy almost every alternate day and he will always repeat the same words "I NOT SURE, I NEED TO CHECK WITH BOSS. ... BOSS HAS NOT GET BACK TO ME.... It has been more than 2 weeks and he is still using the same delay tactic to shun away my problem. I told him that we are just car buyers and you are opening a business here. This kind of unethical approach is really lousy and dishonest! I told him if he is going to drag this matter, there is nothing I can do except to warn fellow buyers NOT TO FALL INTO THIS TRAP and shun away from CAR LINK. Until now I still have not hear anything from CAR LINK ENTERPRISE C2 on the compensation of my compartment lock. If they decide to play punk and avoid me, there is nothing I can do except to educate and keep fellow buyers aware of their UNETHICAL APPROACH IN DOING BUSINESS. Attached is the shop photo which I personally went down and took. Pls note that this thread is meant to warn and share with fellow buyers not to patronise this dishonest car dealer and I welcome CAR LINK ENTREPRISE to response and challenge my thread if you are gentleman enough although I don't pin any hope. Regards,

Came across this accident at junction of Bishan Place and Bishan St 14 towards Bishan Road. VW was in Lane 1, another car further down the road in Lane 2. What was perculiar about it was the VW frt rt wheel was straight while the frt lt wheel was turn left. Did not see if there was any damage to the VW frt lt side though. My inclination is the VW travelling along BS14 and encountered the other car coming out from BP onto BS14. Sorry no pic.

Good Evening Bros i have a friend who is enrolled in a certain Music "School" in United Square. However, there have been quite a few issues. First of all the school policy dictates thats if you're absent no matter what, there will be no refund unless you give them 1 day's notice in advance. However, my friend fell extremely sick on the day itself and there is no way to predict falling sick. Yet despite this the school refuses to budge on this policy. Furthermore my friend is taking VOICE lessons not any musical instrument lessons. However, a more pressing issue is that the teacher assigned is unprofessional and more perturbingly, insulting. He shot my friend, who is a female, with terms such as childish and naive with a bad attitude despite not having anything done to him at all. Furthermore my friend only heard this from other people who told her personally when the teacher started spouting nonsense behind her back. As expected, my friend felt exceedingly offended and chose to terminate the lessons with 1 weeks notice due to the above reason. However, due to another of their policies, the teacher has the right to determine if they should issue a refund and since he doesnt like my friend much, he has decided to not refund the rest of the lessons. I am not quite acquainted with the music teaching industry so I cannot say for certain but what are your views on this?

I was trying to call Starhub to check on my bill, I waited for at least 1 hour then I managed to talk to a "very sleepy" lady customer officer, she doesn't know her job well, she said she will call me back. I waited for 2 hours, no call from her. I tried to call starhub at 1637 again, waited for 50 mins, and the line suddenly got cut off! I am very fedup with their service!!! Anyone has the same experience as well??

Hi All... i'm not a car expert mech watever... just have many experiences experimenting with my cars... for all the Sunny N16 owners who have good FC... congrats lucky you... for all those who have been having terrible FC... forget all the bullsh1t gadgets to save fuel... forget able driving so bloody light footed make driving damn sian... we all know higher tyre pressures, lighter loads (boot and passengers), lighter foot, more highway driving, clean air filter, free flowing exhaust, less useage of aircon... etc will give you better FC... first i want you all to know that my N16 is a manual, i drive heavy footed very often... i use 205/16/55... and i get 400km minimum with every full tank (till light comes out)... (sometimes almost 500km up if i continue driving after the light comes on) tats if i really drive as light footed as i can... do note that i pump petrol until there is no flowback(i do not shake the car it looks ridiculous)... and after light comes on its safe to drive another 30km up or more (i have tried to approx 50km more at most so far...) if you have tried so many ways to better your sunny FC but fail even after spending so much money on ridiculous gadgets or even those bloody expensive magnets... STOP WASTING $$$... let me share with you this now... logic... *we all know that those who use a 5W/20 or 5W/30... will get better FC compared to those using a 5W/40 or 5W/50... *i asked around and most agree that a 5W/20-30 will give you up to 50km per full tank more than 5W/40-50... trust me unless your mech used a measuring bottle for your Sunny's EO, i'll bet my money there is too much Engine oil in your car... in the morning after you have parked your car overnite, measure your Engine oil with your dip stick.. take out wipe clean and push back in and check... if the oil if way above the F mark, which i believe it will be, go get an oil change immediately when you can... get a accurate measuring bottle, not just any EO bottle with side markings... if you didnt change your oil filter cause still very new, drain all your old oil and measure 2.5liters of EO and fill ur engine... if you change your oil filter, drain old oil, measure 2.7liters of EO and fill the Engine... (this amt of EO is the same even for the 1.8engines, not available in SG but in MY the 1.8Sentra) (do not tell yourself aiya put a little bit more oil better protection etc... yes slightly more may be better protection softer engine but defeats the purpose of this test... 2.7liters will be at the F mark dont worry...) *use exactly the same engine oil brand type vocosity, dont change plugs or air filter, dont change your driving style, load or watever... just be the same driver as if you didnt change your oil... i bet you will see yourself getting more km for your full tank... cause when i used c-- ---e and VX for my previous couple of oil changes (all measured by myself), i had better FC then when i change to Redline ester based (mech poured in when i was not looking)... all are 5W/40... not logical so i drained the redline until my oil left was at the F mark when cold. drove it just now and i can feel immediately the car revs faster and more eager to go... based on my butt dyno... so my conclusion is this... over fill your engine with too much engine oil and your FC will suffer... other tips for better FC is a clean air filter, tyre pressure about 4psi above recommended, change or remove(illegal)your cat if its more than 5yrs old cause it should be dead by then n stop working anyways...

dear all... i dont know if you've heard of this story... was told by a friend that its true and happened in SG... i dont know if it really happened but after i heard this story i felt so terrible i lost my appetite for dinner earlier... just ate something only now... the story goes like this... there was this guy, who loved his car very much.. without fail every sunday he would spend abt 3 hours cleaning polishing waxing vaccuming...etc his precious beloved car.... after e got married and his daughter was born, he still maintained his sunday schedule as always... cleaning his car. He loves his family very much... just that he had a passion for cars... other than his wife and daughter, he loved his car most... when his daughter was like 4 years old... she started to ask why papa would leave the hse for 3 hours every sunday... so i fine day... this father decided to bring his daughter along... the daughter would happily play with water and soap... and when she was bored, she would just sit there and stare at her daddy polishing his beloved car... even though she could not understand why... one fine sunday after the cleaning session, the father saw one of his car's tyre had a few cuts... he was so pissed... and got them changed immediately... boy did this father love his car... on another fine sunday... father and daughter were happily cleaning the car again... and while daddy was routinely going to clean one side of his car, he heard metal scratching sounds on the other side of his car... he went over and saw his daughter with a screw driver in her hand scratching on the car door... in a fit of tremendous anger, he hit his daughter's hand with all his might... after a couple of seconds did he realised he had a spanner in his hand... his poor daughter was crying in terrible pain... mummy started running out... and immediately brought her daughter to the hospital as the little girl looked like she had a broken wrist... as the father was in a fit of anger, he did not follow his wife to the hospital... and when he went to inspect the damage to his car, he saw that his daughter had scribble some words on his car... it read... "i love you daddy'.... i was told the father felt so bad he commited sucide... how could he leave his wife and daughter just like that????? anyways thats the story i heard... i guess whenever we are going to lose our cool especially with our loved ones... its better to stop and think 1st.... haiz... how you feel after hearing this sia...

wah seh..first time in my 10yrs of using the Tuas checkpoint i encounter such a heavy jam left my home at Hillview at 1730. Reached the customs complex at 2200hrs. the jam stretched back 2-3km before the customs complex proper.. to make it worse, there are still people cutting queue..but nearer to the flyover, auxilary police are on hand to prevent those queue cutter from cutting into the queue..so those f**kers LL gotta turn 1 big round again.. worse is, ICA only open 6 lanes for the car.. anyone caught in it? what has ICA's efficiency become?

Hey guys, I wondered if you have similar experience with me, during your coach journey to Malaysia, especially during the night to as far as Penang. I had a horrible trip, as I had bites all over my body.

Just came back to office at ECP towards airport and after Bayshore...saw a aftermath of a terrible accident. Lane 1 and 2 closed, only lane 3 can pass. Ambulance, TP WRX, and a emergency bike rushed there. Here is what I saw when I passed the site. Hope the guys involve are ok...but I suspect the two cars are racing in the rain and the black WRX (I think) crashed into the center plants divider. But the Silvia is ok... just got my optra 2 weeks ago. ODO at 1000. the FC is terrible @ about 7km/L. i am not a heavy footer. traffic has been moderate. Actually, the battery die and has to be replaced after 2 days. on top of that, the suspension at the back was noisy. The mechanic inspected the car and discovered that the nuts wasnot been tighten properly. On top of that, the petrol sensor has to be replaced because it wan't functioned properly. all these happened in the last 2 weeks. I think the engine has not run in. however, even after the engine has ran in, the FC i think will decrease a little only which still made the car not a good buy. not very happy with the car. bad choice. not a happy person.
