You know that hot gush of air when you open your car door? How do we reduce the temp when the car is parked in the open? Do we leave gaps in the windows? You can do that if you have window visors installed I guess. Is there any solar powered device in the market which can be installed to provide ventilation and does it help?

"Half" Size Spare Tyre - where to buy / anyone want to sell?
jg2000 posted a topic in Tyres and Rims
Anyone know where in Singapore can buy "half" size temp spare tyres. Or anyone has one and want to sell? e.g. those who upgrade to full size spare or those who prefer to save weight and get rid of the spare. Am interested in this specific size: 145/90 D16 or 145/90 R16 (which is actually the same size). Nowadays, many new cars don't come with spares. Am thinking of a half-size spare just in case (esp. for trips to Malaysia). -
Please take noted ........... [sunny] SINGAPORE: There will be temporary changes to the parking and pick-up arrangements at Changi Airport's Terminal 1 (T1) from 2am on Friday (Oct 17) to 2am on Tuesday (Oct 21). These arrangements are part of a dry run in preparation of the closure of the T1 open-air car park in the last quarter of 2014. The Changi Airport Group announced the following changes on Tuesday (Oct 14) in a media release: During this four-day period, the open-air car park fronting T1 will be temporarily closed and relocated to Terminal 2 (T2). The T1 Arrival pick-up point will be moved to a new location outside the T1 Arrival Hall. The following measures will be in place to assist members of the public with the changes: Road signage and lane markings will be up to guide motorists to the relocated facilities. Signs will also be put up within the terminals. Airport staff and traffic marshals will be deployed to assist users and motorists. Videos to guide drivers to the relocated facilities will be available online. A free shuttle bus service will be added to supplement the existing Skytrain service for transfers between T1 and T2. It will operate daily at regular intervals. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/temporary-closure-of/1414428.html

Was waiting for my mom just now when i just decided to make better use of my time and check on the water reservoir(becos i noticed the temp abit higher than normal)....and horrors of horrors!! it had very little water left... I quickly topped it up.(engine was running) Then when i started moving i noticed it shoot up to almost the red zone!!! wah..i have never seen my temp meter do a redline before!!! I then stopped moving and let it run for awhile...and the needle went down(but still higher than normal). then later on when i reached my destination and came to a full stop..it went up again for awhile before coming down... What should i do guys?

Water Temp Increases Faster After I Change coolant
Mini-itx posted a topic in General Car Discussion
I am previously using water wetter and tap water. Decide to change it to Motul additive and distilled water because some of my hoses seems to leak with WW. I realise than my water temp now rises to the middle point faster than using WW. Is this normal? Cause it could mean 2 things, better heat transfer or engine producing more heat (due to friction, oil pump problem?). -
Just asking whats the benefits of using a low temp thermostat (if there is any). Cause mine is stucked open and I need to get it replaced.

Here's what I do when parking in open lot on a hot sunny day. 1. Leave front windows open with 1 cm gap. Need to have visors installed for this in case it rains. (This reduces the temp. But it can still get quite hot.) 2. If you have cup holders, Leave 3/4 cup of water sitting in the cup holder. The water will absorb the heat in the car. When you come in, you will find the water is very hot. Hotter than the inside temp of the car. A water mist spray can help cool down your car, but it doesn't while your not there. So the car still gets heated up. I keep a bottle of water in the trunk for times where I have to park under the sun. Let me know if this works for you guys Cheers

Hi guys! Any idea where I can find high temp water hoses? This is because of of the bypass hose for my engine coolant is leaking already (due to old age I guess). I am unable to find the replacement hose from spare part shops (guess they no longer stock it). Thus I am looking for OEM ones. Its just a very simple straight hose of around 10cm in length and 1/2" diameter. Looking for those high temp silicone or rubber hoses. Anyone knows where I can find them? Thanks!
