2 weeks old Hyundai Elantra. Scratch to a pole when I make a reverse turn on a narrow road. Left side tail light cover crack, but all lights function well. My own car. Any suggestions? I only treat it as a transportation for my family. So do not want to spend much on repairing it. 1. Bring back to Komoco. But I do not think warranty will cover any. 2. Claim insurance. Excess 600. Maybe I just pay repairing cost and next year premium increase. 3. Outside workshop. Not sure what the cost for the light cover. 4. Use glue or tape to fix it by myself. To me the looking is not an issue. Wait next time go JB or has other issues repair together. Any ideas. Please help. Thanks.

Wish to get help here. My car is Elantra Basic model. i crack the left tail light cover a few month ago. Now I got a new light and wish to change by my self. However, when I start to do DIY, I found there is an additional wire connect to the tail light. Is there anyone can advice what is this wire for? I think it looks like for the power source for reverse camera, or reverse sensor? The new light I bought do not have this wire. I attached the photos. Thanks The new light bought do not have this wire I checked the right tail light, do not have this wire

Hi All Have been thinking of changing my tail lights to LED type. But my car will be due for 3 year inspection next year. Just wondering, what do they test tail light for? Is it just brightness? If the LED is bright enough (its probably brighter than stock) then its ok? Or will they know it is a modification and will result in failure? For my car, i have to trade in my original tail light to get the LED tail light so once change will be very hard to change back. Thanks for any info that you can share.

Dear fellow drivers, As our vehicles age, due to high COE + due to 40% DP required + etc, please ensure that your tail lights and at least 2 of your your brake lights are working! Just these few days alone, I have come across more than 10 cars with 2 or ALL brake lights not working. I have already tried my best to inform these drivers when we stopped along side at junctions. But there is only so much I can do. Please, check your brake lights. This is how you can check your tail lights and brake lights by yourself if you have no one else to check for you. 1) When reverse-parked in front of a wall, off your lights and observe the wall behind. Switch on your headlights and check your side mirrors. The 2 corners of your car rear should have red light casted on the wall. To check your brake lights, switch off your headlights. Step on the brake and check the side mirrors to see there is red light casted on the wall. 2) When stopped in front of buses (and some big lorries/truck), check your rearview mirror and look at the reflection of your car rear on the windscreen of the bus behind. You can see if your brake lights are working. Please ensure your tail lights and brake lights are working. This is for your safety and for others safety as well!

Rain has finally came back after the long dry spell.. Giving us nice cool weathers and flowery sceneries.. But with the rain, I noticed one side of my tail light gets to trap water inside it.. not sure how it got in there in the first place.. Don't have time to actually investigate too.. So I was thinking if any bros here have a good workaround for this problem other than changing the entire assembly? I was thinking of probably drilling a small hole at the tail light so that the water will drain itself.. but doing so, I'm afraid that water may also seep into it and make matter worse.. any good suggestions??

any idea who or how should i go about repairing it? when it rains water will accumulate into my rear brake light this far it doesn't seem to spoil the lights though

"He said the high COE prices was not only a function of supply - the smallest since the quota system started in 1990 - but also the robust economy and people's ability and willingness to spend. He has asked the Land Transport Authority to look into whether the newly-introduced Carbon emissions-based Vehicle Scheme (CEVS) - which accords lower emission cars rebates of up to $20,000 - had led to more aggressive COE bidding" Wow lau ... CMI leh .... from a high calibre ... The CEVS is LPPL with little or no saving to car buyers ....

Do you think it should be mandatory for bicycles on the road to have head lights and tail lights as well as helmets? Cause I drive along pasir panjang road regularly and notice that there are many bicycles along the road w/o any lights. Some at least have some reflectors, others have nothing as all. IF the bicycles are black and they are wearing dark colour shirt, its difficult to spot them from a distance. Worse, some are even riding against traffic! In the past, I believe bicycles are not exactly common on the road. But now, I notice that there are more and more bicycles on the road and most do not have any proper lighting of any kind. The cyclists also have no protection of any kind (not even a basic bicycle helmet). Thus if they get in accident, they are going to have serious injuries to their heads. Perhaps, its time to have some form of regulations for cyclists in order to make the road safer for them as well as us.

Today in KPE, evening peak. I was in lane 1, in front full of cars and i couldn't go any faster. In fact every lane was full. A COE Civic came up and tail-gated really close. So close I couldn't see his steering wheel. After several minutes I got fed up  and gave a meaty tap on the brakes. This guy immediately backed off and kept a 20m following distance for the rest of the journey. Is this "fan jian" or what? These people cause so many accidents and really asking for it. What purpose does it serve to tail-gate?

Does anyone noes a pet shop named I-Pet? On 12th March, morn was driving along Thomson Rd, overtake a small green panel-van GV6**6H in a 'Merging' lane. He has to brake to avoid me & obviously this van driver was super fed up as he tailed me with continuous horn all the way fr start of Thomson Rd to Sin Ming Rd. Small warning horn i can accept & will even slow down to wave a sorry sign to him even though i may not be at any fault but it's Very Irritating when he horned me all the way... This impulsive act stirred up my patience & i slowed down eventually & let him overtake by my right. Both of us wind down window & I shouted @ him 'Hv u had enuff? Its a merging lane right up there!' I guess i added an 'Idiot' @ the end as he's winding up his window b4 i can finish my sentence. Guess wat? He has a Dog beside him while driving & i choose to believe he wasn't concentrating during driving thus didn't c me overtake and so causing him to E-Brake. He didn't give up after that... he continued to horn & tried to follow me to wherever i go... but he was stopped @ traffic lite turning into Sin Ming... tat's where i stop my car by road side so as to confront him in person. Waited a while & he turned in but didn't c me & he turned into a carpark. I went over but the car was parked & he wasn't there & i only got the number plate & I-Pet printed on the van. Didn't hv the time to wait so i moved on... Intend to search for this Pet shop & pay this person a visit some of this days... Dun noe wat i'll do when i c him in person... Am i @ fault? Is he too much? Wat u guys think? My Frustration! Wat a day!
