This is how you're supposed to appreciate the Volvo XC60, as an art
RchLuvSlly posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
The Volvo XC60 is one good alternative to take into consideration when it comes to buying an SUV. It's an exclusive crossover SUV that comes with city safety measures to guarantee your family's safety. However, it seems that the Volvo XC60 is not all about commuting. You can see that if you go to Zurich, Switzerland central station where the Swedish automaker has set up its art display. The locals recognise the art display as the Volvo Art Session and it has been around for the past few years. Here, Volvo has chosen highly talented artists, some of whom are skilled veterans while some others are newcomers, to present creative exhibits including a Volvo as the central point of the art. In this year alone, the Swedish automaker has chosen no less than six artists from across the European continent. This year, their task is to transform the Volvo XC60 into a creative work of art. It's unfortunate, though, I have to say, as the work of art won't last for long. This happens because the work of one artist will have to be erased so that the next artist can present his work and so on and so forth. Trying to be creative at one of the busiest places in Europe, some of the artists can't help but to make the Volvo XC60 a focal point in their creative art presentations. However, some others seem to be more creative - at least so I think - by making the car almost completely unnoticeable. -
If you're looking for an ideal car for a drag race, we suggest that you take the 2013 Nissan GT-R into consideration. We wouldn't recommend it for nothing, it's even faster than a fighter jet - the Hawker Hunter, in this case! Well, that's true provided the jet doesn't take its wheels off the ground. When you take a look at the specification sheet of the new GT-R from the Japanese automaker, it

Short summery: One of these lawyers is Alvin Chong Chee Vun of Alvin Chong & Partners, Kuching, who has represented the Sarawak government, government-linked companies and prominent public listed companies with close links to Taib’s family. Engaged by Norlia for the proposed sale of the land by Ample Agro to the “foreign investor”, Chong explains in the video that their suggestion is to execute the deal in Singapore. “The Singapore has a China Wall… They will not tell them, the Malaysian government, nothing… They [Malaysian government] ask them and they’ve been turned down… “Sorry, it’s none of your business. They are the new Switzerland. Jurisdiction by choice for people like us. We operate Singapore accounts too, both personal and corporate entities,” Chong says in the video. http://hornbillunleashed.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/43411/ No wonder so many private bankers are highly paid. Porsche unveils the 991 GT3 at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show
PetrolHead posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
The Porsche 911 will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and Porsche kicks-off the celebrations with the introduction of the new 911 GT3. Back in 1999, the 911 GT3 became the fastest ever production car to lap the legendary Nurburgring-Nordschleife circuit and hence after set the benchmark for road legal sports cars. Over the last four generations a total of 14,145 GT3 cars have since been built and now there is another based on the 991 series - Porsche 911. The fifth generation 911 GT3 debuts at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show and aims to set the benchmark among thoroughbred Porsche sports cars with naturally aspirated engines. The engine, transmission, body and chassis are entirely new but the proven characteristics of the track inspired sports car are preserved. The powertrain of the new 911 GT3 comprises a 3.8-litre flat engine developing 475bhp mated to a Porsche PDK double-clutch gearbox, and rear-wheel drive. Though the six-cylinder engine is akin to the 911 Carrera S they only share a few common parts and weigh around 25 kg less than the previous unit. The new 911 GT3 comes with a sports exhaust system, which is revised from the previous model. The 991 based 911 GT3 is 44 mm wider than a Carrera S across the rear axle and houses the distinctive large, fixed rear wing. The 911 GT3 hit 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds while the top speed is attainable with 313km/h via the seventh gear. The 911 GT3 lapped the green hell in less than 7:30.- 3 comments

World Health Organisation classify diesel emissions as carcinogen
FaezClutchless posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Most would know that diesel engine exhaust emissions are more dirty compared to petrol engines. Even though diesel engines have gotten progressively cleaner in recent years due to strict emissions standards, the World Health Organisation has announced recently that they have uncovered sufficient evidence to link diesel fumes with cases of cancer in human beings. The World Health Organisation which operates under the United Nations says that diesel fumes are a known cause for lung cancer and can increase the risks of bladder cancer. Carcinogen is the term used for describing any substance that is an agent directly involved in causing cancer. As mentioned above, diesel engines are progressively getting cleaner. This is largely attributed to the usage of particulate filters, of more precise direct-injection technologies and also to the widespread use of ultra-low-sulphur diesel in some countries such as the United States. But this is not the case in many developing countries. There are still a lot of vehicles, mostly commercial vehicles, in those countries that use old fashioned diesel engines that use pre-chamber type indirect injection. To complicate the matter, the World Health Organization estimates that these vehicles will take a very long time to be replaced with cleaner ones. Chairman of the working group, Dr. Christopher Portier, explained that the scientific find was rather compelling and the group-

Swiss fashion watchmaker Swatch is working on a hydrogen powered car
FaezClutchless posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Swiss watch maker, Swatch, is known for its colourful and quirky-looking wrist watches. But did you know that they have tried their hand in the automotive industry and one of their projects in 1993 resulted into a car that looks way-out just like their watches? The first picture you see here is the Swatchmobile. Looks familiar, right? That is because the Swatchmobile project eventually led to the first generation Smart car. Since then, Swatch has not participated in the automotive industry. But the company recently announced that they are currently working on a eco-friendly car project. Currently named ELV2, it might enter mass production in four to five years. Swatch CEO Nick Hayek, who is also the son of the company-
