  1. The GP suspected that i have trigger finger on my last finger. I kind of sprained my joint (at the palm area) of my last finger. The GP explained its the tendon that is affected. He mentioned "A1 pulley" I want to know if TCM can help? Any recommendation? The GP gave me med but i feel TCM could be a better treatment option for such sprain cases. Every morning when i wake up, it will be v painful if i move the finger. it has a little swelling, but not obvious. I thought it's Gout but GP dismissed it. The pain is only on that joint.

  3. Wishing and gentle reminders to all MCF members to take good care of your own health. I wish all good health and safety!" Health is WEALTH! A 43-year-old female doctor from Shanxi province in China collapsed and died after reportedly working for 18 hours without rest. Zhao, who was deputy director of the respiratory medicine department, died from subarachnoid hemorrhage, a type of stroke brought on by a ruptured aneurysm, Zhao had been working since 6pm the night before on Dec 28. After completing her shift at 12pm the next day, she continued to visit patients in the hospital, clocking up to 18 hours that day. Zhao had told another colleague a few weeks ago that she was "too busy" to take a break. http://www.asiaone.com/china/doctor-china-dies-suspected-overwork-after-18-hour-shift?xtor=EREC-16-4[Emarsys_Newsletter]-20180102&extid=6934d0cfb7b252f1ae9f0dbddf5ff88ca8637e77

  5. Recently my wife was approached closed door on the above slimming method. Touting using all natural ingredients, no-hunger, no-subsequent weight gain, blah blah blah, even its promotional brochure showed our MM Goh and Health minister and another VIP I forgot, that 'suggested' them to be among its clients. It is basically eating some supplements over 3 months to balance all the smoky technical jargons, and your body will be set good for life. The catch: S$2288! It claimed to have 10 years presence here though I have never ever heard about it before. What I do not like is that a preliminary check was executed with a OSIM weighing machine, then you will be bombarded you you are this age but your body is 10+ years older, and your body got so much fat above norm that it can be rid of by exercising, very much using scare tactic. And if you bring up cost, the response would be that isn't your health worth more than the this money blah blah blah? Like I am sinning by not buying this product, worse still, not getting for your loved ones. Very much playing on guilt conscience! Anyone has any experience on this?
  6. Visibility levels in the west coast took a dive over the weekend although the weather remained on the cooler side. The reason for the reduced visibility levels is not conclusive as air quality in the country is recorded at either “good” or “moderate” on the Air Pollutant Index. Some Malaysians speculated it might be haze as they felt ill, listing symptoms such as fever, sore throat and sinus problems. Homemaker Sara Sukor, 33, said she had observed her baby son’s eczema flare up after the “haze” appeared on Friday afternoon. She said she could barely make out the skyline of the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower from her 19th floor apartment in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. “Even though there is no smoky smell, I feel the haze is getting worse by the day,” she said. IT support executive, Martin Arulappa, 26, said he had not noticed lower visibility levels in Klang but he and his sister had been suffering from flu and fever since Friday. “It could be the indecisive climate,” he said. The Meteorological Department (MET) said Petaling Jaya and Kuala Pilah in Negri Sembilan had visibility readings of up to 4km as of 5pm yesterday. Visibility was up to 6km in Subang and Ipoh, 7km in Butterworth, 8km in Sepang and Malacca and 9km in Batu Pahat, Johor. Normal visibility levels are from a range of 10km and further. However, air quality remained at good and moderate levels, with Ipoh recording the poorest reading of 82 as of 5pm yesterday. According to the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index (API), unhealthy, very unhealthy and hazardous air quality readings are from 100 to 200, 200 to 300, and more than 300 respectively. The reduced visibility could be due to the 500 hotspots detected by the NOAA-18 Satellite on the Meteorological Service Singapore’s website, for the areas of Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. The hotspot map for that region showed most of the hotspots were concentrated in Cambodia and spread out into Thailand and Laos. Suay for the 10 owners though In this case the 10 owners can only sue the clown via a civil suit for damages as the latter's insurance will not compensate anything right? From AsiaOne: http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/...103-393243.html Suspected drink driver rams into 10 cars in Potong Pasir SINGAPORE - A driver believed to be intoxicated rammed into 10 parked cars in a HDB carpark in Potong Pasir early this morning, before falling asleep at the wheel, the Shin Min Daily News reported. The incident happened at about 2.30 am at the car park of blocks 137 and 138 of Potong Pasir Ave 3. According to the Chinese evening daily, the man had earlier drove his car up a kerb and struck a lamp-post before speeding away. But he returned 30 minutes later, after realising that his license plate and bumper had fallen off because of the impact. Said an eyewitness, Mr Wu, 40: "The driver wanted to park his car in a lot, but I don't know how he ended up hitting 7 cars in the process." In an attempt to get away, Mr Wu said the driver knocked into 3 other parked cars. The driver's car ended up wedged in between 2 cars. According to another eye-witness, Mr Tan, 35, the man then got out and pushed the car in a bid to free it. When that failed, he returned to the car and subsequently fell asleep at the wheel, said Mr Tan. Mr Tan added that the police and officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived shortly after. BMW damaged Said businesswoman Ms Lin, 26, the owner of a BMW which was damaged in the accident: "If only I'd returned home from work later." Ms Lin had arrived home just 15 minutes before the accident. She said she heard a loud noise after she got home and showered, but was too tired to find out what had happened. "I knew something bad happened when I looked out the window this morning and saw that my car had moved," said Ms Lin, who had bought the car less than a year ago. [email protected]
  9. In a major anti-drink driving blitz on Thursday morning, police arrested 16 motorists aged between 24 and 55. The operations saw police conduct breathalyser tests at Clemenceau Avenue, Crawford Street, Jalan Toa Payoh and Kallang Road. 14 men and two women had flunked the test, with the most egregious offender recording a test result of 54 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. Sat, Apr 10, 2010 China Daily/Asia News Network Police have detained an 18-year-old man suspected of defrauding his Internet girlfriend of more than 2 million yuan ($307,064) in Qianan city of Northeast China's Hebei province on April 2, 2010, YanZhao Metropolis Daily reported. The jobless young man surnamed Qiu got to know the girl surnamed Bi through QQ, the most popular Chinese instant messenger, in July 2009. He called himself Guo Xingchen and told the girl that he was a pilot and that his family ran an iron and steel company. Bi, who was impressed by Qiu's seemingly rich lifestyle, kept sending money in the following months to Qiu when he lied repeatedly, such as telling her about a car accident and organ transplant. By the time Bi realized it was a fraud in March 2010, Qiu had squandered away a large amount of the money, including buying a car. The case is still under investigation. -China Daily/Asia News Network
