Li Xuan had two fingers severed, thumb half-severed and deep cuts up to her wrist.
A 14-year-old girl was helping her father at his drinks stall in a hawker centre at Toa Payoh Lorong 8 when her hand got caught in a sugarcane juicer.
According to a report in The New Paper, the machine exerted so much pressure on Tan Li Xuan's hand that it crushed three fingers and tore off the skin on the wrist.
Shin Min Daily News reports that the incident took place at around 8.40pm on Sunday (Dec 22).
Li Xuan's father, Mr Tan Ah Guan, said he was packing some things when he suddenly heard his daughter shouting.
When he turned over, he saw her right hand stuck in the machine.
He immediately cut off the power to stop the machine and called the police and the SCDF.
The machine was dismantled before Li Xuan's hand was freed. She was sent to Tan Tock Seng hospital.
