TL;DR – A man and a woman harass another couple over a parking dispute in Yishun. No one was hurt, but their childish behaviour is mind-numbing. Just another day in Yishun - Two men and two women engaged in a road rage dispute over parking. Before I carry on, please have a look at this 61-second video. What an ugly start to a video The video begins with an unattractive (to me) lady making faces and flipping the bird at the occupants of a Toyota Altis. From the article published on STOMP, we understand that this was in response to the cam car couple trying to park their car next to these two crazies in a Toyota Sienta. Crazy 1 (C1) Tf is wrong with this crazy? YOU HAVE A CHILD WATCHING WHAT YOU’RE DOING FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Crazy 2 (C2) Then we have this guy who comes out to challenge the cam car driver making stupid noises and acting like a monkey. Uncle, you look like you’re 60. WTF you doing? This is you right now. His accident case is still pending due to lack of information on the incident. He hopes someone who recorded the incident with a car camera, or who passed by the accident scene that night can come forward to help. He wrote: "It was on 1st August 2014, along Woodlands Avenue 5 @ around 2:18am. "I was driving back home and was alone at that point of time. As I approaching a junction, I saw the traffic light was red and I slowed down my car and was about 30 metres away from the junction. "I was driving straight and the traffic light started to turn green and I proceeded. "The lorry from the opposite direction was making a right turn (beating the red arrow with green light - to go straight). "And crashed into the front right portion of my car all the way till the back door. "The accident happened just in front of the witnesses as they were about to cross the traffic which showed a green man. "The road traffic and the pedestrian traffic had the same timing sequence. "They were on the left side crossing. "The impact threw me away and was a few step away from hitting them (witnesses). "As my car came to a halt, I was in a great pain on my right chest, shoulder and neck almost could not move. "They tried to open my door from the outside but jammed. "They immediately assisted me by calling the ambulance and the police. "I was injured and only managed to take a few photos, and was conveyed by the ambulance. "After I left the scene, I could not see what had happened. "My car accident case is still pending due to lack of information. "As such I need help from them to pursue my case immediately." Also known as estuarine or saltwater crocodiles, they have been spotted several times at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, although these sightings are not common. They are considered indigenous to the region and can grow up to a length of 8m long, with a diet consisting mostly of fish. Crocodiles are often confused with Malayan water monitor lizards, which are shy, non-venomous reptiles that sometimes make an appearance in large canals. The STOMPer wrote: "This 1.3 metre crocodile was seen resting last weekend at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. "Another crocodile, more than 2 metres long, was also seen basking in the sun earlier in the day."

The STOMPer wrote: "I spotted a Lamborghini and a Ferrari racing in front of the Esplanade towards City Hall and Shenton Way on May 21, 2012 at 3.58pm. "A video of the race was uploaded on YouTube and the police had been called up. "However, my friend said he still saw the Ferrari on the road as if nothing had happened. Its engine was still revving! "I think our police can't do anything to the high flyers." On May 17, DPM Teo had made a comment on his personal facebook page telling the traffic police to be tougher on speeding and reckless driving. His comment was made in light of the three-vehicle crash at Rochor Road that killed three and left two injured. Video footage of the Rochor crash shows the Ferrari running a red light at the road junction and hitting a taxi, which then hit a motorcycle. The accident happened at around 4.08am on May 12. At about 5.15pm on April 22, 11 passengers were evacuated from an LRT train when it stalled between Bukit Panjang and Senja stations. The passengers had to walk on the train track to Senja LRT Station. Netizens edited photos of the LRT breakdown to make light of the incident. One photo read: "Registration for Singapore marathon 2012 is now opened!" "Exciting new route from Pasir Ris to Joo Koon station." Another picture had this caption: "Uniquely Singapore". The STOMPer wrote: "On November 11 2012 at around 6.30pm, my family and I were heading out to a family dinner. As we approached our car, we noticed there were scribbles on it. "We immediately knew it was done by an Ah Long or his ka kia. The problem is, we do not owe them any money. "Where we live is a good few kilometres from his stated target. In the picture, the person mentioned lives at Clementi West Avenue Street 2, but my family and I live at Clementi Avenue 4. "He obviously got the wrong family. But instead of slipping on high heels and conquering the corporate world she chose to serve burgers and sundaes at McDonald's. Before even graduating from her course in project and facilities management, she had two offers from quantity surveying firms. She is now a manager at the fast food giant. While the 27-year-old beams with pride when talking about her job, many people think otherwise, she says candidly. "It's not something that people always think graduates should do. "Some think it's a job people do in their spare time as a short stint in their teens, and do not see it as a viable career option," she adds. Her career choice is an unconventional path among her peers, she muses. Most of her friends work in offices, not fast food joints. Her decision to join McDonald's full-time in March last year also raised eyebrows at home. Her NTUC cashier mother and coffee-shop assistant father felt that she could get better pay elsewhere. The fact that she had to work shifts was also a sore point. Fresh graduates like Ms Ong earn between $2,000 and $2,500 a month, says a McDonald's spokesman. Some of her relatives also asked her point-blank why she would want to work at a fast food joint, doing such menial tasks as mopping up greasy floors and taking orders. But she waves away the dismissive talk, showing perhaps the determined streak that allowed her to graduate as the top student of her cohort at Singapore Polytechnic. "At McDonald's, we lead by example, so I do everything from the basic to the advanced, like scheduling the work timetables of the crew and interviewing new hires." And it's clear that Ms Ong has great affection for her job and the company, which she started working for as a part-timer at 16. Every weekend, she assembled Happy Meals and dished out chilli packets for eight hours a day from 7am to 3pm, before going out with her friends. Through her schooling days at the Institute of Technical Education (where she won the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship), polytechnic and university, she worked two days a week at McDonald's. During the school holidays, she worked full-time. "I really enjoy the family-like environment and people there. It's a young, vibrant environment and it doesn't feel like I'm working at all. "I even worked on my birthday," she says with a big grin. That she bumps into friends who visit the outlet does not make her feel embarrassed or awkward, Ms Ong insists. Asked if their opinions bother her, she replies without skipping a beat: "If they don't buy it (my decision to work at McDonald's), I don't try too hard to convince them. I enjoy it. If you're always so concerned about what people think, your life will be very difficult." Ms Ong's parents are gradually coming round to her career choice. The job has taken her overseas - to the US city of Orlando for an international convention organised by the company, and to the Philippines for a restaurant leadership programme. Just two weeks ago, she bagged the Super Star Award - the highest service honour - at the Excellent Service Awards for the food and beverage industry. That certainly helped, she says with a smile. Although there are sacrifices she has to make for the job, she makes it clear that she finds them minor inconveniences. "I really don't like night shifts, which start at 10.30pm and end at 7.30am, or run from 5.30pm to 2.30am," Ms Ong says. Working over weekends is also something she does on a regular basis. She and her husband, a property agent, have learnt to work around it. "We try to have dinners together on weekday nights," she says. The bubbly and spirited individual adds that she sees herself working at McDonald's at least for the next five years. "One day, I may want to open a business of my own, a cafe perhaps?" she says.

If he gets to keep his job Stomp editor apologises for false picture on website Stomp editor Azhar Kasman apologised to train operator SMRT on Friday for a false picture posted on the citizen journalism website by one of its employees. He also expressed regret that he did not cooperate promptly with SMRT staff during its investigation into the picture that purported to show a train moving with a set of its doors open. It was posted last week by Ms Samantha Francis, 23, a Stomp content producer. She has since been sacked. Mr Azhar was writing in response to a letter from SMRT's interim chief executive Tan Ek Kia, which said that he had withheld material information from SMRT staff after the picture was first posted. 'This was a serious error of judgment on my part,' Mr Azhar, 32, wrote. 'I can only say in mitigation that as a relatively new editor, this was the first time I was dealing with a situation like this.' He said he hoped to learn from this mistake, and that Stomp's operations would be tightened to prevent a repeat of such an incident. On Friday, Stomp addressed on its website some of the questions that have swirled since the incident. It said that posts from its staff would no longer be put up under nicknames but instead be clearly attributed to 'The Stomp team'. Passenger was not at Lakeside MRT station: SMRT Train operator SMRT has refuted the presence of a passenger who had taken a picture of one of its train's carriage doors left open while it was travelling, saying that she was never there in the first place. Ms Samantha Francis, 23, a content producer with citizen journalism website Stomp, had uploaded a photo on Wednesday morning showing one of the train doors wide open. She claimed that the train was travelling despite the open door and only closed when it reached the next stop at Chinese Garden. Ms Francis had boarded the train at 10.15pm on Tuesday night. She told The Straits Times that after the train stopped at the station, the doors on the opposite side to the platform opened first. She then took a picture through the closed doors in front of her. When the doors in front of her opened, she entered the train and took another picture of the opposite doors, one of which remained open until the train stopped at the next stop at Chinese Garden. Ms Francis said a Chinese man in T-shirt and bermudas and an Indian man were in the same carriage as her. Yesterday, she met with SMRT staff at Lakeside MRT to assist in their investigations. She showed them where she was standing when she took the photo and described what she was wearing that night to help SMRT identify her in CCTV footage. When asked by SMRT staff if her current ez-link card was the one used that night, Ms Francis answered yes. However, SMRT told The Straits Times in a statement on Thursday that Ms Francis was not present at Lakeside MRT. "We thank (Ms Francis) for coming forward today to assist us with our investigations. We are checking a few more things, as from our records (CCTV footage and ez-link card trip details), she was not at Lakeside MRT station on 19 June," said the statement. It added that its trains will not be able to move if the doors are not closed properly and that the railings in her picture do not match those at Lakeside MRT. "We wish to reassure commuters that the MRT system is built with many fail-safe features to ensure passenger safety", said the company. According to the STOMPer, the driver was drunk. Said the STOMPer: "The driver of this car crashed his vehicle into a tree. "He was totally drunk and the police officers had to hold him since he was falling on the road and putting the lives of others in danger. "I wonder why such heavily drunk drivers choose to drive when they are in no state to."

Admit those days we had our fair share of "heavily-accented" lecturers but it was not too bad as we could still understand what they were trying to say. Besides we all relied on the lecture notes so not attending lectures were no big deal then. The Nanyang Business School (NBS) undergraduate said that some of the lecturers in the university lack enthusiasm and their thick accent makes it difficult for students to understand them. He said: "As a fee-paying student, I expect at least a decent level of teaching by tutors and lecturers alike. "Do not get me wrong, the majority of professors are able to spark students' interest when they teach. But a handful of them cannot do that. "There are some classes in which it is incredibly difficult for students to understand what the tutors are trying to say, especially those taught by heavily accented PhD students. "In one particular case, the situation was worsened by the tutor's lack of enthusiasm, with no effort on his part to improve his teaching methodology. As a result, many students skipped his lessons and had to study for the module themselves. He then suggests that these tutors should be provided with basic training prior to teaching. Despite the presence of invigilators, more and more students are cheating in tests and examinations as well. Students get to sit next to each other in the lecture theatres which makes discussion easy. He has even seen a student used his iPhone during a test before. He also faced a situation where an examination question was repeated due to the setter's oversight. The lioness was pawing desperately at the baby and trying to bite its head, but was obstructed by the glass. The STOMPer is happy that humans are safe from attacks by wild animals. Said the STOMPer: "I saw this crazy video of a lion trying to chomp off a baby's head. "Luckily this is at a zoo and there's a sheet of glass separating the baby from the animal. "All hell will break lose when an animal like this escapes from the zoo. "We are so fortunate to live in a world without predators hunting us!"
