  1. Agree or disagree? In January 2000, after running Microsoft for 25 years, Bill Gates handed the reins of CEO to Steve Ballmer. Ballmer went on to run Microsoft for the next 14 years. If you think the job of a CEO is to increase sales, then Ballmer did a spectacular job; he tripled Microsoft’s sales to $78 billion and doubled profits from $9 billion to $22 billion. The launch of the Xbox and Kinect, and the acquisitions of Skype and Yammer happened on his shift. If the Microsoft board was eager only for quarter-to-quarter revenue growth, Ballmer was as good as it gets as a CEO. But if the purpose of a CEO is long-term company survival, then one could make a much better argument that Ballmer was a failure as a CEO the moment he optimized short-term gains by squandering long-term opportunities. 3. sg.news.yahoo.com Google can only hope that Steve Jobs' final vendetta doesn't haunt the Internet search leader from his grave... "The main thing I stressed was to focus," Jobs told Isaacson about his conversation with Page. "Figure out what Google wants to be when it grows up. It's now all over the map. What are the five products you want to focus on? Get rid of the rest because they're dragging you down. They're turning you into Microsoft. They're causing you to turn out adequate products that are adequate but not great." This is what i called a Great Visionary. Steve is not just a phone maker. He makes great products, which make others to copycat him; like Andriod....... LOL

But as a forum that entertains idea, what is your take? 1) Both has an obsession for control 2) Jobs has close relationship with international media (creation, publishing) 3) Jobs is very influential to the tech world. 4) In terms of market cap, Apple is very big. 5) Eco system is quite proprietary 6) Jobs has been crown person of the decade , man of the year by several influential opinion leaders/ groups. 6) Tributes after death, 5 years after death, 10 years, 25 years, how many (non-family members) can still remember, appreciate them?
  7. No wonder apple was sueing left right center recently. His last burst of fire. Perhaps to help to forstall the downward spiral of Apple when he is no longer there. None has his vision. iPad and iPhone will get stuck as it is forever? What innovation can we expect from other CEO of apple?

  11. Read ESPN Soccernet this morning and was The headline read : "McClaren out to 'prove people wrong' as manager" quote: "Former England boss Steve McClaren believes he can 'prove people wrong' and still be a successful manager. The 46-year-old is looking for an opportunity to get back into management and has taken encouragement from his England predecessor Sven-Goran Eriksson, who has impressed this season in charge of Manchester City. McClaren told Setanta Sports: 'It didn't help that we [England] didn't succeed. That is a huge disappointment and it will take a while to settle that down, to get that out of my system as well as everyone else's. 'But I just want to get back into the game. 'I have said it before - I think I am a better manager for those 18 months. McClaren admits he is concerned for the future of the English national side due to the quality of coaches and players available. 'International football is a completely different level. It is 10 times the standard of domestic football and the only thing that emulates that is Champions League." , McClown, McClown....... you are laughing at yourself. Look at yourself when you are at Boro before coming in as England Manager and now you blame the standard & quality of coaches and players available at clubs. Then, what was you doing when you are at Boro ?????? Yak...yak...yak... and you still think that you are great....
  12. Morning latest from ESPN Soccernet read : England 2-3 Croatia: Three Lions crash out "England's Euro 2008 dreams - and quite possibly Steve McClaren's job - were washed away in the Wembley rain despite a thrilling David Beckham-inspired comeback. For some inexplicable reason, Wright-Phillips, finding himself in an unaccustomed right-back slot, tried to play Ivica Olic offside. The ill-advised move merely allowed the striker to stroll through, round Carson and tap into an empty net. A capacity Wembley crowd was shell-shocked, barely able to grasp the nightmare unfolding in front of them. At no point did Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard get hold of the game, at no point did Crouch look a threat and at no point did England's defence look capable of resisting Croatia for the remainder of the game. As he delivered potentially his last half-time team-talk, the boos of his own fans once again ringing in his ears, McClaren's belief could have been reinforced only by the knowledge that twice in his Middlesbrough days. It seemed McClaren's version of the Great Escape would reach a memorable and totally satisfactory conclusion. Instead, just as Steve McQueen was recaptured and jailed, so England were snared again as substitute Petric belted home from 20 yards to knock them out." Further news informed that McClown vow to stay on as England manager. What a crab McClown, step down now........... Whilst I am typing this threads, England FA will be having a meeting in the morning to decided on this clown fate. FA meet in the morning to decide McClaren's fate. "The Football Association have called an emergency board meeting at 8.30am tomorrow morning at which England coach Steve McClaren seems certain to get the sack. McClaren refused to resign in the immediate aftermath of tonight's 3-2 defeat to Croatia at Wembley, which ended England's hopes of reaching next summer's European Championships. But, while McClaren also declined to discuss his future, the 12-man FA executive will sit in judgement in the morning - and their verdict is not likely to be positive." Boot that clown out or you will not even smell World Cup 2010...... btw Russia win by 1-0 against Andorra.
