One of the most important safety features any vehicle can have is a good set of tyres. The significance of having good tyres on your vehicle can hardly be overemphasised. Tyres belong to a department where you should not scrimp and save in relation to your vehicle's maintenance, because they are your only direct connection with the road and can make the difference between you staying on or off the road in tricky situations. Well-maintained tyres will ensure that your vehicle is held securely on the road, allowing it to stop, start and manoeuvre safely. But more often than not, tyres are subject to damage from road hazards. Road hazard damage Road hazard damage is damage that occurs when a tyre fails as a result of a puncture, bruise, or impact incurred during the course of normal driving on a road. Nails, glass and potholes are the most common examples of road hazards. Typical damages usually occur in the bead, sidewall or tread area of a tyre. Some of the common symptoms of tyre damage to the bead area include mounting damage, bead separation and irregular wear whereas the sidewall and tread area are vulnerable to cuts and impacts. With a new Road Hazard Warranty programme recently launched by Stamford Tyres, there is no need to worry about road hazard damage. Stamford Tyres Road Hazard Warranty The Stamford Tyres Road Hazard Warranty is applicable to all passenger car tyres purchased from and fitted at any Stamford Tyres outlets. Any set of four tyres under the warranty will qualify for free tyre repair (if deemed repairable) for a period of 12 months or 20,000km (whichever comes first). The Road Hazard Warranty only costs five percent of the value of the tyre. So if the set of four tyres costs $1,200, customers will only have to pay $60 for the warranty coverage. More importantly, this fee is waived for all Stamford Tyres Intune Members, even for new signups at the point of purchase. In the event that the tyre is damaged beyond repair, Stamford Tyres will replace the damaged tyre with a new one. The exact brand and model for the replacement tyre will depend on stock availability or a comparable one will be offered. The Road Hazard Warranty's coverage is subject to terms and conditions and does not apply under the following: - Once any of the tyres is transferred from another vehicle not registered under the warranty initially. - The registered car under the warranty is sold. - The warranted tyre has been repaired before. - Tyre damage due to vandalism, racing, etc. For the cost of the replacement tyre, customers will only have to pay for what they have used. Measurements of the damaged tyre will be taken to determine the percentage of tyre tread used. For example, if 15 percent of the tyre tread has been used, it will only cost the customer 15 percent of the original purchase price of the tyre. So if the price of the original tyre is $300, customers will only need to pay $45 for the replacement tyre. Anyone used SSW rims from Stamford Tyres before? How's the build quality and handling? Was quoted $340 for a set of 4 (15inch x 6.5) matt black rims. The picture and specs of the rims are in the link below.
