  1. Today I was exiting from the roof top carpark when I noticed the above scenario. The car was blocking the exit and any SUV or MPV would probably have problems coming out as the space to manoeuvre is limited. The purpose of this thread is not to target at the brand or make but a question which apply to Auto car relying heavily on electronics. As most and more cars relied heavily on it, my understanding that it is still possible to disengage foot/hand brake then put gear to neutral and push the vehicle. Or maybe for this case, it is not advisable as if I am in the same situation, I would push it aside. Appreciate any clarifications on whether one should attempt to push stalled car aside if it is obstructing others. TIA.
  2. My Lancer EX 1.5A has stalled twice recently (once today and once last week). Both times, the car stalled when moving off after stopping at a junction. I did not change gears away from D and kept my foot on the brakes at the junction. I quickly switched to neutral and cranked the engine - no problems in starting it. Any clue what could be wrong? Spark plugs need to change? Cam shaft sensor? Thank you in advance. *Car is 7 years old and I've driven about 120k km. Spark plugs have not been changed before.
  3. Just want to share something i found quite amazing this morning, what one stalled lorry can do. for those who was clueless on why you were stuck around clementi for eternity this morning, this may shed some light. 1) going into AYE from clementi ave 6, side by side with a lorry. after both of us waited for a bus to clear the expressway bus lane, i turn into AYE, lorry nv move and saw it on hazard lights. the time was 715am. i thought to myself... hong kan for the traffic later liao... worst timing worst place to happen... 2) after settling my kid at childcare at bouna vista, i need to head back to tuas. i decide to take commonwealth ave west all the way and turn into PIE at clementi ave 6. the time was 820am. 3) traffic from outside singapore poly was building up. abnormal. it then took me 20min to reach only clementi ave 2. damn tulan liao... i was not in a rush, so turn into clementi ave 2 caltex pump petrol, wash car, vacumn and pump air... 4) clementi ave 2, (oppo caltex) towards commonwealth ave west was crazy... jam all the way back to near ulu-panadan, my eyes could not see the end of the jam. the time was nearing 9am. Have to avoid that side of ave 2 to go back to commonwealth ave west, so did a small detour end up at clementi mrt area. from there to entrance of PIE (near nan hua primary school) another 15min. 5) From what my eyes can see, jurong east towards nan hua pri the traffic was endless, PIE to AYE (oppo clementi camp) was endless also... All these was more than 2 hours after the lorry stalled. that, my friends, is what one stalled vehicle can do... thousands late, pollution many many...
  4. A train stalled at Redhill MRT station on Friday night, forcing hundreds of passengers to disembark. The train was travelling in the direction of Joo Koon on the East-West Line. The incident occurred at about 11.10pm, according to affected commuters. "The train door opened and closed for like 10 times. Then there was an announcement asking passengers to leave the train," said student Sarah Au-Yong, 21, who boarded the train at Outram for Queenstown. "But many of us were still confused. It was only when they turned off the lights in the train that people realised it had broken down." Many commuters made a beeline for taxi stands, but some chose to wait for service to resume at the station, she said. The train was still at Redhill MRT station at 11.30pm. There was no mention of the incident on SMRT's official Twitter account. http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/singapore/story/train-stalled-redhill-mrt-station-passengers-asked-disembark-20140124
  5. Was on the way just now and saw a car stalled in the middle of a cross junction's yellow box. Location at cross junction near IMM, chevron and international business park. The drive just on his hazard light and started in the car with a girl, mingling with their handphone.... For goodness sake, get off the car and push it to the road side, rather then leaving it in the middle of the cross junction's yellow box and jam up the traffic!!!!!! STUPID!!

  7. Was driving home as per normal when car suddenly stalled and lost all power. Steering became very heavy and accelerator pedal cannot be depressed. Engine check light came up as well. Restart the car and managed to move for 500m when it happened again. Luckily I managed to cruise slowly to road shoulder. Restart 2nd time and managed to drive home slowly at 60km/h on extreme left lane with no further problem. Anyone can advise whats wrong with the car? I think will send it in for checking tomorrow.
  8. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/photo/getFullSizePhoto.do?id=17406 http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=18745 A STOMPer was impressed when he saw OCBC staff help push a customer's car, which had stalled at the bank's OCBC branch on Apr 17, in the rain. According to the STOMPer, he was queuing in the bank when he saw a that a customer's vehicle had suddenly stalled and created a congestion outside. He said a service personnel by the name of Jenny spotted the incident and immediately asked her colleagues to help out. The STOMPer said: "Despite the rain, two officers came out to 'push start' the customer's car and it eventually moved off about 10 minutes later. "The officers' names are Michael and Mr.Chan if I did remember correctly. "What impressed me most is the helpful spirit that was shown from the branch staffs, no complaints from them even after being drenched." He added: "These strongly reflect how OCBC produces excellence not only financially but to the extent of people to people relationship. "I strongly believe if this situation were to happen elsewhere, I doubt I would get the same response from the staff. "That is why I would like to give a quote: "Where to find sunshine service on a rainy day? Ask Ocbc."
