Following from the earlier thread on how we move forward, let's realign what constitutes the above accordingly so that we can ALL be on the same page and start threads without any hesitation. Rationale: Threads were merged as the same discussion was duplicated in different forms and the posts cut across different threads, fragmenting the discussion and making it difficult to read. Same topics of the SAME issue were posted and thus, the SEARCH function was encouraged so that the general MCF population did not have to sieve information unnecessarily, ie, all were consolidated Starting threads on the vein of getting the thread of the month leading to numerous additions Thus, on that vein, the SAME topics were then merged. Going forward, it has been too successful and perhaps diluted the threads with posters posting topics under a SAME/SIMILAR thread that had no specific context. I apologise for that as it may have been too zealously praticed. That said, the list below could serve as a possibility of variations (non exhaustive) of what constitutes merging/splitting of threads What kinds of threads could be merged? Threads of the SAME issue posted in the day/last few days that is bordering on the SAME topic. This leads to fragmentation of threads /discussions that makes for difficult reading. Threads with a trend of occurring almost every day. Case in point SMRT breakdown. If threads were to created daily on SMRT breakdown, 70% of threads will be on that. Other possibilities are flood, reckless. hoggers, etc. If at all, it's good to see big trend of the same incidents occuring What stands as a NEW thread? Any new incident that occurs, that is newsworthy. (However, this again can be debated, for eg, the OTC mountain. Clearly there was no merit in starting a new thread there that may just last 20posts and die off. Another case was the crocodile sighting where it was added in and the thread renamed on the different sightings in sg. Helpful to see a trend) New ROAD trips New cars released - reviews could be posted under this thread too These are some of the thoughts that I personally have, and it is on the premise of making things more consolidated and reader friendly. The disadvantages that could arise are: Threads run a short life and just die off. This would be natural progression of interest in a thread, Ambiguity and posters can still drift on a particular topic in a specific thread making the need to split posts from threads more prevalent. Please add on and @therock did have some thoughts so do add on here. Thanks and these are just MY thoughts

Have a split upper molar. Saw 4 dentists already :s22: Dentist 1: Hopeless...need to extract. Dentist 2: Need to see a specialist. Dentist 3: Refer to a specialist for restoration if possible. Dentist 4(specialist): Can be restored but got to spend lots of $$$. Google search: Such a split has a very little chance of a good restoration. May still ended up with extraction. My questions: 1) Shd i just extract? Cost less than $200 but if complication arise may need surgery $500-$1000. 2) There will be a gap(missing tooth) on my upper teeth 2nd molar from wisdom. Does it feels funny and still able to chew there with the remaining teeth? Another option is to extract and do an implant but the cost is very high so ruled this out. 3) Shd I go for restoration and keep my finger cross? Cost abt $2000++. If fail will end up extracting....:s27: When I told the specialist that I seriously considering extracting he kept saying thats destructive method and I shd reconsider as its best to keep my natural teeth. I think Ive all the options but I like to hear your experiences and advice. BTW, leaving it alone is not a solution cos high chance food may get stuck inside the crack and cause an infection. Not only that, if tooth further breakups, then surgery is unavoidable. So not a good idea to delay further and I sincerely hope forumers here can give me your views. TIA

My family is planning to buy a new multi-split A/C (system 3) to replace the current one which is 10 years old. Any bros here have had their pre-existing systems changed in their households? 1.) Did you get the piping changed as well? Because the PVC housing is routed through some built-in furniture so it could be quite problematic. Am wondering if leaving the current piping intact is okay or will it compromise the new setup. 2.)How did you calculate your compressor requirements? <length of room (feet)> * <breadth of room (feet)> * 65 (Did you use this formula?) Seems like Multi-split units with 4 ticks and using R410A are pretty expensive Anyone got lobang or know of any promotion?

With the rising number of divorce cases piling up here...this is one sure way to have your cake and eat it too!....if things don't turn out well for the couple! Phnom Penh A couple have sawn their house in half to avoid the complicated divorce process in Cambodia. The husband Moeun Rim, has taken his half elsewhere. His estranged wife, Nhanh, remains in her half of the house, pictured, on the site of their martial home, about 90km(56 miles) from the capital Phnom Penh. The couple, in their forties, shared their land equally with their two daughters. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle4916850.ece But the funny thing is....hasn't the man left his half share of the land behind? Or is it in Cambodia...land don't count?

There is this news item about this man who choose not to divorce earlier ( but in the end did after a tragic event) and continued with an abusive and unhappy marriage. What was reported ( though not always the total truth)is that out of 24,000 over or so marraiges takes place every year , about 7000 + end up in actual divorce. In truth, there exits an equal number of marriages ( 7000+) that are already on the rocks and the partners are already very unhappy with each other but choose NOT to divorce for various reasons....like this case until some really BAD happens! So it seems to indicate that whether a marriage will work out or not, is going to be 50 -50 thingy. With present and future statistics showing that more are NOT 'going to work out' ! So what would you have done if you are that Mr Russel Tan or a lady instead of a man , driven to such desperation before he eventually decided to divorce? http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../365173/1/.html

Realised that partners at CAG workshop have decided to go their own ways when I enquired about the cost to perform a 45,000km service on our Superb. Alex is running his own vehicle servicing and repair business and operating out of the Paya Ubi premises. Anyway, the charges quoted by Alex is no longer competitive compared to Servotronic. Labour + oil filter charges are $20 dearer compared to what Servotronic has quoted. As a first-time patron of Servotronic, I must commend that Dennis and Philip, together with their team of mechanics, are dedicated in their work. The brake pads on our ride were thin enough to warrant replacement, although the brake pad change indicator (on the dashboard) has not lit up. For a total price of $290 inclusive of labour for oil change (with self-supplied engine oil), oil filter, front and rear brake pads replacement, I would say that the price is fair.
