http://www.straitstimes.com/premium/forum-letters/story/barrier-preventing-prs-taking-citizenship-20140516 Barrier preventing PRs from taking up citizenship PUBLISHED ON MAY 16, 2014 MR CHRISTOPHER Chong ("How to help foreigners integrate"; Tuesday) suggested that permanent residency should have a fixed term and then be re-assessed, with one of the criteria being the permanent resident's intention to become a citizen. As a permanent resident here, I would look forward to becoming a Singapore citizen if not for one issue - the requirement that I give up citizenship of my home country. I know of many other permanent residents who share my view. Not allowing dual nationality is an old-fashioned position, one that has changed in many proud countries over the last decade or so. Forcing me to give up my ties to my home country, and having to apply for a visa to visit my family and friends there, is a show-stopper. Singapore should consider changing this policy. Allowing me to retain the citizenship of my home country would in no way diminish the respect I would have for my additional citizenship in Singapore. I have lived here for nine years and do consider Singapore home. So the authorities should remove the one barrier that is preventing me, and many others, from taking the final step to truly calling Singapore home. Makes my blood boil when reading such statements from this FOREIGN TRASH!!! Pui!!!!

Mazda and Fiat to co-develop a rear wheel driven roadster
FaezClutchless posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
[extract] Back in November last year, Alfa Romeo (which is under the Fiat Group) is challenging, particularly at the Mazda MX-5, the rear wheel drive roadster market segment with a new generation Spider. But now it seems that things are going to change. The MX-5 will receive a sibling but it will not be a Mazda. Mazda Motor Corporation and Fiat Group Automobiles have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development and manufacturing of a new roadster for both companies- 1 comment

**Shifted to Technical Section** Posted this in AROC.... Share with you guys as well... Few days ago: Yes, mine doesn't come with AUX (iPod or 3.5mm jack whatsoever) thus last weekend, I pulled out the stock headunit... Surprised it was Blanpukt.... Single Deck attached to a double din face. Anyway long story short....when I looked at the pin, seems like I need to do some modification to the Blue Pin but I think it is possible, AUX out 3.5mm... Will try soon.... enough of CDs and Radios and and and don't want to be restricted to iPod adaptor only.... Today: Done! Now I can play anything under the sun....so long as it has a 3.5mm hole. Lolz. RCA out to 3.5mm.... Now not restricted to ipod or iPhone or USB but all 3.5mm jack. Yes, function on your stock headunit is "AUX". 15mins job... :) DIY. P/s: Because this is running on 3.5mm jack, you can only control volume on steering....please don't ask me whether can select tracks or folders....

Alfa Romeo recently unveiled 2 new variants of the Brera and Spider models in the UK, namely the 1750 TBI petrol and the 2.0 JTDM diesel. Both the engines are turbocharged, with the petrol and diesel versions generating 200hp and 170hp respectively. The 1750 TBi generates 320Nm of torque, propelling the Brera from zero to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds. In the Spider, it takes 0.1 second slower but is still impressive considering that it is a cabriolet. Top speed for both models is 235 km/h. The 2.0 liter JTDM diesel unit pumps out 360Nm of torque, allowing the Brera to hit 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. The diesel powered Spider does the century sprint in 9.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 217 km/h, a similar figure for the Brera. At the same time, the UK division also revealed a new trim line called the Italia Independent, available with all engine options including the ones above. The trim level includes a matt black titaniuim finish, 18-inch black alloys that hide red brake calipers as well as an Alfa 8C inspired aluminium fuel cap. On the inside, one can find black leather bound steering wheel, gear knob with red stitching and black sports leather seats with Italia Independent branding on the headrests. There are also carbon-fibre trim inserts, aluminium sports pedals and foot rest as well as an audio plus navigation unit. Let

Poisonous spider found in Singapore. A STOMPer sent us an email which has been circulating in the Internet, about a poisonous spider from Brazil which has made its way to Singapore, and warns others to be careful of it. The email said: "Take caution when you see this spider. "This spider is now in Singapore grounds and it's poisonous. "When you see this spider - further yourself from it as fast as possible (or kill it immediately). According to the email, this poisonous spider can be found anywhere, even around the house. It said that the spider was even even reported on Channel 8 on May 1. An Englishman was recently bitten by it but unfortunately, the spider was freed as it was not known that it's poisonous! STOMP is contacting the experts for comment. Is it true? [sweatdrop]

At $180K, its not that gorgeous to me. I could get a Merc SLK or an Audi TT for a little extra. Review here: http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=8 [inline 8_1_l.jpg]

Sigh..........A thumb size spider web crack on my windscreen after being hit by a stone. All thanks to a truck carrying granite stones travelling on 3rd lane, as taxi overtook it from 2nd lane (taxi now in 45 degrees to the left in front of me)about 5 metres away, the taxi flicked the stone from its wheels onto my windscreen. And I was on lane 1........ How more unlucky can I get......... Last week, a lorry drove into my path in a turn and I almost banged into him or barrier even with E-brake, I thought the worst was over. Now............ Do u think I need to go Bai Bai liao? The cost.........S$107.00, anyone wanna buy 4D? My out-of-luck may be ur goodluck. Kekekeke.

The Brera's convertible version, the Spider really does the beautiful front end justice. The Brera looks quite a bit like a hatch to me, but the Spider really brings the beauty out. The 159 Wagon's rear is pretty much similar to the current one but the slight tweak in design is just enough to give it a fresher look. First up, the new pants-wetting Alfa Spider. I think i just wet myself. Personally am no convertible person. I canNOT visualise myself driving around town with the top down and having everyone look at me. But the Spider is sooo drippingly chio. I can't wait to lay hands on one... Argh. I wanna see it in the flesh. "Available in two versions, the client can choose his or her Alfa Spider to be fitted with the sparkling 185 bhp 2.2 JTS engine or the powerful 260 bhp 3.2 JTS." Now the beautiful-but-failed-to-wet-my-pants Alfa 159 Sportwagon

Anyone wants one of these?? Alfa Romeo will unveil its new 159 Sportwagon estate and Spider convertible at the Geneva Motor Show at the end of February. The sexy Spider looks just as good as the Brera coupe, which we've already had the chance to drive. The new car goes on sale in the UK towards the end of 2006, so we've got a while to wait before we find out whether it handles as well as the Brera. Two petrol models will be on offer initially
