an extract from the WP rally: http://wp.sg/2012/05/rally-1-jennjong/ it's really disgusting if true... earlier, the figure was 36m spent each year, which already caused a hoo-ha hope MOE can come clean and tell the citizens exactly how much is spent on foreign scholarships almost 150m per year is ridiculous... at least to me

Nice video of the Toyota 86 / GT86 with compilation scenes from prototype testing, on the track, and pulling off some drifts and performance driving. Some nice homage paid to the Toyota Sports 800 and AE86 as well. Check the video I really think Toyota is making a good work promoting its new sports car...and think it will be a huge success. What about you?

Aljunied residents spent $1000 to celebrate LTK's symbolic new birthday. Celebrations included Lion dance, 5 kg B-day cake, buffet for 80 pax and singing of birthday song. Upon arrival, LTK was mobbed by 300+ supporters. While I support WP, I hope this hero worship don't get out of hand. Meanwhile Ms Irene of Tampines must be green and sour all over.

Horse races and Toto also popular, with people spending $1.9b and $535m respectively SINGAPOREANS gambled away billions of dollars last year, with the bulk of bets going towards 4-D lotteries, according to a Straits Times check. The survey also revealed that residents spent hundreds of millions on both horse racing and Toto, with bets on the ponies on a sharp trend upward. While betting operator Singapore Pools declined to reveal how much money was spent on 4-D, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) said that the game generated more than $1 billion in taxes during the last financial year. The Straits Times spoke to tax experts who estimated that it would translate into $4.2 billion in bets. Meanwhile, the Singapore Turf Club revealed that $1.9 billion was wagered on horse races in its last audited financial year. Also, about $535 million was spent on Toto in Iras' last financial year, according to experts' analysis of tax records The gigantic taxes received on 4-D mirror the results of a recent government study which showed it was Singapore's most popular game. The study also found that more people see 4-D and Toto as leisure activities, a trend also witnessed by counsellors. '4-D is seen as an acceptable game and there's no stigma if one is seen queueing up to buy it,' said Ms Khiang Whee Fern of Care Corner Counselling Centre. Counsellors say the small bets for 4-D lotteries make them a popular option for all age and income groups. It has also become easier for people to part with their money, say experts. There are now 309 Singapore Pools outlets and the betting operator also takes wagers over the phone. Then, there's the lure of hitting the jackpot. 'Many gamblers believe their lucky number will (come around) soon,' said Mr Charles Lee, senior counsellor at Tanjong Pagar Family Service Centre. 'So, they bet on the same set of numbers their whole life. They find it hard to stop the habit.' The popularity of 4-D has fattened government coffers. It contributed close to 80 per cent of the $1.28 billion in betting duty Iras received in its last financial year. Those 4-D takings were up more than 10 per cent from the 2004/05 financial year ($906 million.) Using a formula on the Iras website, tax experts from KPMG Tax Services and Deloitte Singapore estimated that total wagers on 4-D were in the neighbourhood of $4.2 billion in the taxman's last financial year. Singapore Pools would only confirm that the most popular game was 4-D, followed by bets on soccer matches and motor races, and Toto. It declined to provide any information on the amounts bet on the various games. However, Iras told The Straits Times it received $127 million and $47 million in betting duty from Toto and soccer respectively in its last financial year. According to Mr Sum Yee Loong, tax partner at Deloitte Singapore, that would translate to Toto bets worth about $535 million. Mr Sum was unable to calculate the sum of soccer bets as that calculation involved the total winnings paid and that data is not available. Meanwhile, the Singapore Turf Club said that $1.9 billion was wagered on horse races in its last financial year, which ended in March last year. That is up more than 30 per cent over figures from two years earlier. Counsellors say that most horse punters are middle-aged men who go for the thrill of the race. I also a Supporter in Singapore Pools [laugh]

Wah biang eh....heart very pain.... My father all along use the spare remote key, spoilt it liao. Left only my own remote key. I scare dat my one will spoilt too as I keep dropping, so I kay kiang go Muar (my wife hometown) and duplicate a flip type remote for RM110. As I din drive there, I just duplicate and the owner say cfm will work. I return to Singapore and cannot work!!...I go to Hwa Keat AutoKey also say this flip type cannot be program...I go to Mongo Motion and boh pian spend another $50 to duplicate an exact copy of remote key. Spent $100 in total. I prefer the flip type key as my existing one is the key with remote on top. Eveytime put pocket sure poke here and there. I dun wish to go back to so far and just do a remote key. Most probably three month later than I go back to my wife home town. Anyone know where got place other than Hwa Keat that provide remote key duplicate? I wanna try my Muar remote key to re-program as I dun wish to waste my flip type remote. My frenz manage to do so in Muar. His is also remote on top and manage to program a flip type remote. Same shop.
