people keep saying better infrastructure... what do you mean by better infrastructure? What sort of improvements will make you switch from car to MRT. For me, I think they need to build EXPRESS MRT to connect the regional centers. I am more familiar with the North so theoretically the MRT should go like that Woodloands -> AMK -> TPY -> Orchard -> Raffles Place. Takes 10-15mins to reach city from Woodlands. From Jurong east, 2-3 stops to Orchad Road -> Raffles place -> 2-3 stops to Tampines -> Changi business park. Takes 10-15mins to reach city from the regional centers. If that is possible, who will want to drive? I see the new MRT lines all have MANY MANY stops. Example thomson line. It takes like 2 more stops to go from AMK to ORchad if you use thomson line compared to the NS line. I think that is not the way to go... What I personally want is express MRT. Imagine if you have express MRT, 90% will switch to MRT if the connections are workable for them. As long as you connect up the Major centers, you can remove a lot of car traffic.

A hit-&-run case at a shopping centre. Don't think the authorities will be of much help as described by the victim IMO what this STOMPer Edwin needed are a witness, a helpful insurance rep &/or a good lawyer (if insurance rep not helpful) but the process maybe stressful & draggy with the outcome not worthy of the effort. In any case, please contact the STOMPer Edwin via STOMP e-mail: [email protected] if you have witnessed or have any information pertaining to the hit-&-run incident at Anchorpoint Shopping Centre at Alexandra Rd on Apr 27 (Fri). From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...or_has_too.html Posted on 29 Apr 2012 Car dented in hit-and-run, but authorities say they are too busy to help STOMPer Edwin is upset that none of the authorities he contacted to help in his hit and run case appear able to help, as they have 'many cases to handle'. The STOMPer wrote: "I parked my car at Anchorpoint Shopping Centre at Alexandra on Friday (Apr 27) at around 7pm. "I went for dinner and then shopped around, returning to my car at around 9.10pm. "I discovered that the front bonnet and the top part of the grille area were crashed into by another vehicle, causing two big dents and many deep gashes that peeled away the paint. "Sad to say the driver who crashed into my car was nowhere in sight. From the location of the damage caused, I can conclude it was caused by a lorry. "I wanted to view the CCTV footage, hoping to get the vehicle plate numbers of lorries, but it became a nightmare as the shopping centre security pushed the responsibility to carpark security, who pushed it to carpark management, who in turn pushed it to the Police. "It was subsequently pushed again to the Traffic Police. But I was told by their call centre operator that their 'investigation' process is slow and will take some time. I was also told that there was no point in speaking to the officer now as he also has many other cases handle, and many procedures to follow. "The reason why I want to speak to the officer is to share information with him or her, including the fact that there was a high possibility that the vehicle involved is a lorry. "As a tax payer I am disappointed to receive this kind of of service. At the end of the day the pushing around of responsibility from all the parties involved was even worse than my car getting damaged."

Sorry if this has been discussed before. so can iOS run adobe flash? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unless we have all slipped into a different dimension it appears that some how Adobe Flash content will start to become available on all iOS devices (without jail-breaking, hacking or any other tomfoolery). Apple's big announcement regarding the coming of Final Cut X is playing second fiddle to Adobe's latest bombshell which is that they will be adding support for HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) to their Flash Media Server. HLS is in fact an Apple developed technology which they have used to stream live or pre-recorded video and audio content to Macs and iOS devices already. Apple have even submitted it to become an internet standard. Adobe's new found support for this technology means companies and content providers who deal either primarily or exclusively in Flash based video content, (and there are a lot of them) will be able to get their content onto the millions of iOS devices already out there with no re-encoding or extra leg work required on their part. Steve Jobs has been quoted bad mouthing Flash for some time now, "We have routinely asked Adobe to show us Flash performing well on a mobile device, any mobile device, for a few years now. We have never seen it." He also speaks of its poor battery performance and it being a poor mobile performer in general. Of course Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen didn't take too kindly to these comments, calling them
