Hi, everyone, I am a newbie and would appreciate your feedback on this car. I drove Myvi 1.3M into West Malaysia recently and now felt I can enjoy the driving more if the car is 1.5/1.6 engine (can be more relaxing to overtake within shorter distance). So is this can a good consideration (we need headroom for adults on the rear seats, hence a hatchback not a new sedan) Many thanks

Anyone got comments on this 1.3L DVVT car???

Hi, Going to get a car this weekend. Tied between Sunny and Sirion. I have read that Sirion population is small and spare parts and servicing will come from limited sources. Cost of maintanence or spare part would be higher when compare with Sunny. Is it true? Generally how much more expensive. OMV value is slightly higher by about 1k. Are there other saving in tax or insurance if I get Sirion? Or any other benefits? Thanks in advance. Sidetrack: Does Sirion really have the same engine as Myvi?

Sirion X4... called "Boon X4" in Japan. The old modded Charade GTi comes back into action... Swift GTi you better watch out... we've got a more comfortable car than you coming out. Turbocharged 4WD - 133 hp / 7,200 rpm & 13,5 kgm / 3,600 rpm. Daihatsu has yet to release more information, but have in mind that the car weighs a mere 980 kg. MOMO steering too. My only guess since it's only 936cc / 0.9L car... i guess the FC is pretty good@ 14.6km/L despite Turbocharging. Launching this month or next in Japan. We really must make noise for it to come over to SG. Daihatsu really losing business in SG. YRV is too crap looking liao, and handles like a dog. in fact Sirion handles better than YRV. I can only guess it is a 6.9 - 7 second car like the YRV (which only claims to be).

Test drove the Sirion 1.3A. Quite liked it but a bit worried when I found almost none in the secondhand car mart; not even in SGMart or the Straits Times. Any Sirion owners can enlighten me about the car, please. Thanks.

dear bro and sis i am thinking of changing my 3.5 yr old sunny (A) into a daihatsu sirion basic (A) main reason is because of sunny (A) high fuel comsumption (10.5-11.2km/l) As sirion is rarely seen on sg road (compare to jazz,swift,getz)... i would like to know if there's any Disadvantage in future for investing Sirion? Your comments are appreciated

Hi Everybody, Care to show your views. Of all stated models, given your choice, which in your opinion is a better buy? Considerations are fc / durability / reliability and maitenance cost. thanks

passed by kallang centre today and saw daihatsu sirion, it's available now! Euro 1.3M @ $58K and Euro 1.3A @$59.5K. (after $1.5K finance rebate + $500 insurance rebate) add $3K more for Euro Sports version, which comes with rear spoiler, side guards, sports front bumper + fog lamps. looks pretty good, except for the large grille openings in front. you can opt not to have leather/pvc seats (deletion allowance: $800), and also opt not to have its aluminium alloy wheels (deletion allowance: $400). i thought that's good options they've provided for consumers on a budget. i like suzuki's new swift too, for its nice exterior. but overall, i think sirion offers better value for money. not sure about its omv/parf value though. i like sirion's interior more. it's spacious; it has a cute tachometer, and the boot space is much bigger than swift. sirion's doors feel more sturdy too, swift's doors looked thin to me. but i prefer swift's dashboard (more guy-ish), sirion's just a bit too adorable. didn't get a chance to test-drive it on the roads (still pending LTA approval, according to SE), although SE was nice enough to let me drive the 1.3A around the centre's compound. i thought the steering felt rather responsive. didn't really have a chance to accelerate though. but it went upslope with ease (4 persons inside car). SE said FC is about 15km/L (on paper), so on the road it should hit around 12-13km/L, according to him. sounds reasonable i guess. very nice. i like it a lot. i hope its price drops a bit in the coming months. actually, sirion (1.3A @ $59.5K) should be cheaper than swift (1.5A @ $60K or so, i think).
