  1. BMW has finally act on it! Or is the new X5 coming out with additional features to make sure the blinker is used?
  2. My nearby petrol station has a car wash that is quite popular, cars often queue until extend out onto the main road. I often see the cars who are queuing enter on their hazards instead of the left signal. Once, there was a row of 3 cars outside the station, all with their hazards on. The first car in the row also left a 2 car gap (presumably to not block the pedestrian walkway). Then another car drove up and unintentionally cut the queue and then quarrel ++. So should you in your left signal or your hazards in this scenario?
  3. Undoubtedly, Singapore is one of the top richest countries in the world and home to 269,925 millionaires. Being rich means living a lavish lifestyle, such as staying in beautiful homes, wearing designer brands and driving supercars. Speaking of supercars, it is pretty easy to spot them in Singapore. However, it does not seem easy to be driving one. Watch this video to find out why: What Happened? In a video uploaded to TikTok, a female is seen driving a Ferrari with both hands mounted steadily on its steering wheel in the '2-10' position. Here is where it starts to get ridiculous. Her co-passenger, who seems to be the owner of the Ferrari, told her to 'turn right'. As the supercar approached the junction, the driver who wanted to signal her intention of turning right using the signal indicator could not locate the Ferrari's signal indicator. At this point, she started to panic and proceeded to upshift the gear using the paddle shifter attached to the steering wheel. The rest of the conversation goes like this: Lost For Words Yes, it may seem like a light-hearted affair, but NGL, I am at a loss for words. I can't fathom how someone can simply pilot a supercar or even a car in that matter without understanding its basic controls. It just gets even more ridiculous when you think about it. Allowing an inexperienced driver to pilot a supercar is just an accident waiting to happen. Don't believe me? Look at the aftermath of those inexperienced drivers getting behind the wheel of those cars provided by car-sharing services. What are your thoughts on this incident? Netizens' Comments The comment I was looking for👏👏👏 Go ahead, show it off by all means. What puzzles me is why did he have to upload it online to show her silliness? 4. Once upon a time, driving different car model is just about knowing whether it come with a clutch, the signal / wiper stalk are located on the left or right hand side of the steering and maybe, how to switch on the headlight and that's about all. Suddenly, things started to get much complicated with BMW and Mercedes changing our mental model of how a gear knob should be (shifting and positioning), LCD screen replacing space used to be occupied by knobs and buttons, voice control (don't make the stupid mistake of calling out "Hey Mercedes" when you are behind the wheel of a say 7 series), etc. Back to the topic, in case you are not aware, Tesla made headline a couple of days ago for its revolutionary cockpit layout for its 2021 Model S and X. Now, if you find adjusting radio volume or aircon temperature on a touch screen a pain in the a$$, you are in for deeper sh*t! Tesla's Model S and X revamp says RIP to the traditional steering wheel This isn't a yoke. On Wednesday, Tesla rolled out the new interior look for its refreshed Model S and X electric cars. Both feature a new steering wheel design and touchscreen layout. Tesla is calling the new wheel a "stalkless steering yoke," meaning there's no stalk to press for the turn signal or to change drive modes. Tesla describes the new steering wheel, which has no stalk: "The ultimate focus on driving: no stalks, no shifting. With a stalkless steering yoke, you can enjoy both the best car to drive, and the best car to be driven in." BUT, how to maneuver the car with a game console-like steering wheel, how to signal, switch on the wiper and headlight, etc? These used to be something very straight forward till Tesla decided to make it a rocket science, at least it seems now. It is once again going to rewrite the mental model we have built up over the past few decades of driving... Previously, Tesla used stalks on its steering wheels like most other vehicles for turn signals, headlights, and windshield wiper controls, and unlike other automakers, Tesla even used steering wheel stalks for other controls like Autopilot and the drive modes (PRND). Tesla’s new steering wheel has none of that as the steering column is not equipped with any stalk. It’s instead packaged into a streamlined butterfly steering wheel design. The steering wheel is equipped with the same scrolls already found on the Model 3 and Model Y wheel, but it now features new force touch buttons for the turn signals, high beams, honk, Autopilot, windshield control, and voice commands. In order to replace the stalks, Tesla is betting on a mix of AI and force touch buttons on the steering wheels to replace these functions. Ultimately, Tesla’s hope is that all these functions will be performed automatically by the vehicle. That strategy is especially shown by Tesla’s solution to replace the drive mode (PRND) stalk. The vehicle uses its Autopilot sensors to intelligently and automatically determine intended drive modes and select them. For example, if the front of Model S/X is facing a garage wall, it will detect this and automatically shift to Reverse once the driver presses the brake pedal. This eliminates one more step for the drivers of the world’s most intelligent production cars. That’s quite a change in the way to operate a car, but Tesla is making sure that people are not too confused about it by adding force touch controls for “Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive” drive modes at the base of the phone charger on the center console (touch screen nevertheless). Similarly, the car will sense and predict the need for direction change and switch on the left or right signal light on your behalf. If you want to DIY, head towards the touch screen... OMG!! What's you thought of these innovation? Pray really hard that the system don't hang while you are in the car, it not longer matters if you are behind the wheel or not...
  5. Notice yesterday & today that my GPS got problem getting signal. Wonder if it has anything to do with the haze or just my device problem. Anybody has the same problem?
  6. I remember back in the 70s when I was booked for not turning on my signal light when I attempt to filter from one lane to the next. Hence, I make it a point to always turn on my signal lights whenever I need to indicate my intention. It seems fairly common to find drivers turning out from a junction or doing a filter without switching on their signal light to indicate their intention. Are you often guilty of not turning on your signal light when there is a need to?
  7. I did not realize that the signal repeater lights for my Honda Civic 1.6 (FD4) were stolen until today. Someone has stolen both two sides of it and left the two holes there. I do not know should I report to the police or not, since I am not sure where and when they were stolen. It should be happened within a few days this week. Could someone also please let me know where can I find the replacement and how much does it cost? Thank you very much. Some photos of the stolen lights are attached.

  9. Hello guys I have two problems below! Hope someone can help me! 1)My signal indicator had a problem! Most of the time when I on the signal to either side, at first it will flash and giving clicking sound (NORMAL). After few seconds it will stop flashing and no clicking sound too (THE SIGNAL LIGHT IS STILL ON EXCEPT FLASHING). What's wrong with that? 2)I noticed that my dashboard meter light was getting dim when I switched on the headlight at night time. I had just changed new battery!
  10. I had always practiced switching on hazard lights (in advance, before stopping), plus turning my car to an angle with rear facing into the empty slot before reversing. I was told driving schools nowadays teach to signal with left or right turn signal and I see some cars do this. Wouldn't this sometimes cause confusion especially if the parking car is near to a turn junction in the carpark? In this thread, i would like to first determine what is the correct procedures and then discuss which is better and safer. I remember my driving school (BBDC) taught to use hazard lights for parking 10 years ago. Can someone confirm this? Another observation is that some cars (especially taxi) turn on their left or right signal when they were coming to a stop on the roadside. I am pretty sure it should be hazard lights in such case. Not sure if it is because one side of the light is faulty but this happens quite often.
  11. See so many drivers don't even signal while changing lane ! 12. VIDEO FROM FACEBOOK. NOT ME. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152171116234702&set=vb.662289701&type=2&theater "SFX1034Z tried to ran me off the lane into the road divider today. Didn't even give me time to slow down, had to jam brakes before he hits my side box. Just keep coming rather than move back. Bloody idiot."
  13. Hi, My car's left signal light stays on when I lock the doors with the remote key. I have to unlock and lock again to make the signal light turn off. This problem only happens intermittently. I am afraid if I forgot to make the signal light goes off, it will drain the battery. Anyone has any idea why this problem occurs? Rdgs.

To my surprise when I on Hazard Light both working. So I went to ZMC @ Serangoon there and the guy told me probably the switch of the light is faulty due to cause of wear and tear but the thing is they don't have the item. Its pretty dangerous to drive especially at night when your signal light is faulty. Anyone experience this before? Roughly how much will it cost to replace it ?
