Said the STOMPer: "I saw a local actress in sunglasses park her retro 500c car like she owns the whole car park. "She even blocked motorbikes from parking. "I think she is a local Channel 8 actress called Yvonne." ***** 2nd driver http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...she_drives.html Posted on 30 May 2012 Dog driving car? 4. Maybe he should have written to our dear MND Minister for help since he is the anchor in Sembawang GRC... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...len_branch.html Posted on 11 Nov 2011 Car hit by fallen branch: TC's contractor refuses to pay because it's 'act of God' STOMPer Super's car was damaged by a fallen branch, but the contractor responsible for maintaining the trees in Woodlands Drive has refused to pay, claiming that the incident was an 'act of God'. The STOMPer said: "This incident happened in April 2011. "I parked my car at the unloading/loading bay in front of my block in Woodlands Drive to fetch my son from school. "I returned with my son to see horrible damages to my Honda Civic. "The windscreen and many parts of my car was hit by the fallen tree branches. "After so many months of my insurer trying to claim from Sembawang Town Council's main contractor for the maintenance of trees, their insurer has refused to pay. "As a result, my no-claim discount decreased from 50% to 20%. "What is this? They even told me this was an 'act of God'. "It was not even raining or there was no strong winds that day. "After the incident, the trees around the area were trimmed. "If nothing had happened, they wouldn't have trimmed the trees. "Imagine if the branches had hit my son, what will happen then?"

  6. I just walked around Leng Kee last week and was looking at (yes, my current fav) the renaultsport Megane. Also saw the brand new citroen DS3. Based on what the sales people told me: DS3 OMV = 22K. Since basic cost = OMV + Custom (OMV X 0.2) + GST of 7% of (OMV+Custom) + ARF (same as OMV) + $140 registration + COE... the math is like this: DS3 22K+4.4K+1.848+22K+140+32K = 82,388 <--- Basic Cost. Pre Launch Pricing was 89,999 So the AD only earns like $7,611??? Renault RS250 OMV = 29K 29K+5.8K+2,436+29K+140+42,810 = 109,186 <--- Basic Cost. Pre Launch Pricing is 145,888 So the AD earns like $36,702??? $7,611 vs $36,702 is ridiculous. Left a bad taste in my mouth... Love the car, but the pricing is really stupid. No wonder Renaults sell so "well" in Singapore. It will depreciate like a gold bar dropping into the ocean. Really a shame. But the weird thing is, their margin is only 11K on the outgoing renault sedan. So that's quite good value. If the renault megane RS were $120K and they earn 11K... I'd have a new car on the driveway before Christmas.
  7. Bad service: Cabby driver off with her bag From reader Chitra Kumar I HIRED a Trans-Cab taxi on 28 Feb in the evening from McNair Road, near Balestier, to Far East Plaza. Upon arriving at my destination, I realised I had only $8 with me and the fare was about $9.55. I asked the cab driver to wait at the side so that I could go to the nearest DBS ATM at Far East Plaza on Level 1. He then raised his voice at me saying how I should have told him earlier and not upon reaching the destination as he cannot wait at the zigzag line. I told him to either accept the $8 or wait for a moment while I withdrew the money. I kept my shopping bag, as an object of trust, in the cab. He yelled at me again: 'Of course, money lah, I want money.' Unfortunately, there was a long queue at the ATM, and I had no choice but to join the queue. However, in the rush I forgot to note down his licence plate number. I know it's illegal to stop at the zigzag line, but the driver could have exited Far East Plaza and come back seeking the full fare, as I was prepared to pay whatever the fare was. I even told him to keep the meter running. When I returned about 30 minutes later, the cab was gone. I then called Trans-Cab informing it about the incident and asked for a message to be broadcast for the errant cabby to return my shopping bag. I also requested the customer service staff to inform me on updates, but none called. I had to call three times and was told each time that there wasn't any response, and that it could have easier if I had noted the licence number plate. Finally, I received a call from Trans-Cab at about 10.40pm the same day informing me that the driver had left my shopping bag at the Neighbourhood Police Centre at Tampines Ave 4. I was told to pick up my belongings on my own. While I demanded that my shopping bag be sent to me because I was not in the wrong, I understand that only the rightful owner can pick up the belongings from the police station. The cabby's behaviour was totally unjustified. I was also disappointed with the attitude of the customer service staff at Trans-Cab. This is the third time that I am experiencing such behaviour by Trans-Cab cabbies. I e-mailed the cab company twice, but have yet to receive a response.

  10. See my post ... http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi...1957419#1957419 I've mellowed alot over the years after all the "lacing" and "rounding" and car accidents I got involved with. But this... I had to put up with... crazy drivers blasting their horn at me when they failed their driving theory. What's with these buggers? Driving around has made my blood pressure really high nowadays. How do I stay sane?

  13. it all started last saturday when me and my uncle was out for prata at jalan kayu. car was fine until on the way back, suddenly the aircon wasnt cold at all, and thinking it was the refrigerant, drove on as usual and reached home shortly after. the next day, father drove to work with the car and on the way back, the radiator gave way(it happened before, once), father went to nearby petrol station and top up immediately, got scalded abit. managed to drive home and call for tow truck. the estimated cost of repairing is about 1k (overhaul? not sure), now he decided to scrap the car as its about 9 years old, COE was high then rather sad now as im beginning to like that car , rev high high, change gear, etc. was hoping to hone my driving skills more with it. what new car is his mind? stay tuned to find out
