A fire broke out at Thailand's famous Chatuchak weekend market on Sunday (June 2) night, resulting in two injuries and damage to 200 shops. The fire, which started near Gate 1 of the market, was reported at around 9.15pm, and the blaze was brought under control by firefighters around one hour later, according to the Bangkok Post. About 20 fire trucks were deployed to the scene in Chatuchak district, The Nation reported. Witnesses said they saw flames and heard sporadic explosions. According to the market's website, Gate No. 1 is located near sections of the market that sell mostly books and collectibles, as well as food shops and cafes.

Hi, Am looking to buy car wash, caruba wax, sealant, leather care, rim cleaner, tyre cleaner and finally glass cleaner. Comparing prices from Giant online, ntuc online, autobac online and some online shops selling these products. Will be getting microfiber cloths too. Juz visited 2 auto shops at alexandra mkt area. Never ask price but their products are all very old. Anyone juz buy all those products off the shelves or go to any paricular shops in SG for better price? Brands considering, turtle, soft99, armourall, meguiar, sonax, etc. Waxco (malaysia brand, cheap but quality wise, whether on par with jap or us brands, i cant compare) any recommendations? Thanks.

Been wanting to leather my car seats as my kiddo has been tramping on it like nobody's business. Fabric just doesnt work. So I went to a famous shop in Sin Min estate and was quoted an incredible S$5,600. My balls dropped at that instance and I left. To all bros here, any other shops with good stitching and REASONABLE pricing?

I'm driving an 08/09 legacy gt that comes with the stock Macintosh audio system and the headunit is integrated into my centre console. A common issue with these is that the in-dash cd changer will jam after a few years and that's the problem I face now. Most owners tend to install an aftermarket HU, although some used to get the Macintosh HU sent to the agent or something for repair. Thing is the legacy forums were shut down and it seems that the previous batch of Legacy owners that used to "play audio" aren't active on the FB legacy page so I have not been able to get a recommendation for a shop that can help me out. All I need is to get the CDs removed from the changer, no need for repair of the HU. I'm selling the car soon and this is one of the things I want to get sorted before I put it for sale (some of the CDs got sentimental value to me). Does anyone know of any shops that deal with Macintosh HUs or any other shop that is willing to give it a try? I approached a shop that previously did a stock sub replacement for me but they refused to even try. I know there's a risk of the CDs getting damaged but I'm willing to take that chance and even leave the car at the shop for a day or two if necessary, I just really want those CDs out.

Conservation at work. Total banned areas now total 18. It is to prevent parking and traffic problems from worsening. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/no-new-eating-houses-at/1409976.html SINGAPORE: The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has named seven new locations where additional eating houses will not be allowed to be set up so as to prevent the existing parking and traffic problems in the areas from worsening. This brings the number of places where new eating houses will not be approved to 18. The new sites deemed to be problematic traffic areas are: Changi Road, which include Jalan Eunos / Still Road to Jalan Kembangan and Frankel Avenue Upper Paya Lebar Road from Lorong Ah Soo to Paya Lebar Crescent Bukit Timah Road, at Wilby Road to Elm Avenue and Anamalai Avenue to Fourth Avenue Sembawang Road - from Mandai Road to Transit Road Kampong Bahru Road to Sporttiswoode Park Road Kampong Glam Jalan Riang in the Braddell Heights area. The URA said it has worked with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to assess the existing traffic and parking situations as part of their periodic reviews. The agencies also took into account the concerns of residents, as well as existing tenants who want a balance of businesses in the area. Mr Saeid Labbafi, chairman of the Kampong Glam Association, said: "What the Kampong Glam retailers wish to see is a balance between the businesses. We do know that this place is place targeted for conservation, one of the historical places in Singapore. The more time passes, the more the place becomes unique because of its rarity in the area and because of its cultures, and all this thanks to lot of help from the government. We wish to see a balance of the businesses here." For proposed eating areas outside the existing list where food establishments can no longer be set up, URA said it will evaluate them with the LTA, for consideration of approval under its planning guidelines.

Does anyone know of any place that can repair the dish on those deep dish rims, where the rim is finished in chrome. I repeat, in chrome. I know people send their kerbed dish rims to shops and grind away the edges. But I believe this cannot be done if the dish(or lip) is chromed or painted right?

Coffee shop operator Kelvin Ling of 128 Choices Eating House at Toa Payoh Lorong 1 will keep his eateries open over the festive period to attract people who will be visiting their relatives nearby. Chinese New Year is typically a time for shop owners and their staff to rest, but some businesses will remain open as they see this as a perfect opportunity to reap profits. Supermarket chains, coffee shops and even foodcourts have chosen to stay open in recent years, with many citing increases in daily takings of up to 30 per cent, compared with an average day. Even 12 out of the 18 malls along the Orchard Road shopping belt will remain open this year, said the Orchard Road Business Association (Orba). They include Ion Orchard, Orchard Central, Paragon, Wisma Atria and The Centrepoint. Coffee shop operator Kelvin Ling, 35, said he noted a 50 per cent increase in patronage over the Chinese New Year holiday period last year at his two coffee shops. He runs 128 Choices Eating House at Toa Payoh Lorong 1 and HG 106 Food Place at Hougang Avenue 1. Today after work on my way to fetch my wife, somewhere along PIE towards tuas just after BKE exit i heard a 'pop' sound and the car wobbled a bit..... then it's ok again. So i fetched her, using PIE / Clementi Ave 6 / AYE / Keppel Rd / ECP / Rochor Rd / Victoria St / Lanvender St and parked, then makan dinner / visit a fren.... 2.5 hours later I drove home but found the car couldnt go straight.... by the time i reached home 25mins later, the passenger side front tyre was flat, only left 45Nm of air pressure instead of the usual 230Nm.... So I drove to my usual late-opening tyre shop at Balestier Rd to patch it. For the past 20 years++, this is the shop which 'saved' me from getting stuck with a flat tyre many times. $10 per fix, maybe $12 after 10pm.... Any bro knows of other late night tyre shop in case we have an emergency and need to fix tyre after 7pm?
