Hi,i would like to know what are the procedure if i want to scrap my 10 years old car when the COE expires. I have a few questions as follow: 1). Do i just drive in to any scrapyard or car dealer to do it? 2). Who should i get back my PARF value from?LTA or Scrapyards? 3). Who should i approach for my car body value quote?Dealers or scrapyards? Thank you.

i'm looking for random spare parts for my Getz which i hope to find in the local scrap yards. the parts which i'm looking for, the local stockists don't have...even if they have, it will be expensive understand that there are scrap yard operators as listed in the link below: http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem..._operators.html i'm totally new to visiting scrap yards so as a newbie sotong, a few questions which i hope the lao jiaos can answer: 1) can i just visit any of the scrap yard to look for spare parts and buy them from these yard owners? i suppose it makes sense to call beforehand to check if there are any Getz (my car model) lying in the yard? 2) do i need to pay a fee to enter the yard even if i don't buy anything? 3) anything which i should be careful of? it is legal to buy parts from scrapped cars right? (sorry for the duh question ) 4) any scrap yard which you would recommend to go? 5) if i do find something which i want and it requires dismantling, is it expected of me to DIY dismantle or will the yard operator help? sorry for the many many blur questions. thanks!
