Motorists living in estates such as Sengkang, Punggol and Yishun using the Central Expressway in the morning peaks will have a mix of good news and bad news. From May 7, those who choose to exit at Braddell will not pay a cent in electronic road-pricing (ERP) charges (down from 50 cents today). But those who continue towards the city will have to pay $2 between 7.30am and 8am, and $3 between 8am and 8.30am. The new rates are 50 cents and $1 respectively more than today's rates. The $2 and $3 charges apply to motorists entering the CTE south of Braddell too. But those using the Pan-Island Expressway slip road into the CTE will pay $3 instead of $3.50 today. The latest changes were made at the quarterly review of ERP charges. All other ERP rates remain unchanged. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/The-Big-Story/...ory_794042.html

http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=4629 The two gantries that will see an increase in ERP rates with effect from 1 August 2011 are located along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE), with the Adam and Mount Pleasant Road gantries seeing rates go up by $0.50 from $0.50 currently to $1.00 between 7.30am to 8.00am. The gantry that will see a decrease in ERP rates is the one along the Central Expresseay (CTE), before Braddell Road, towards the City. Charges at that gantry will go down by $1.00 between 7.30am to 8.00am from $2.00 to $1.00, and by $0.50 from $2.50 currently to $2.00 between 8.00am to 8.30am. The revised ERP rates will come into effect starting from 1 August 2011, and prices at other ERP gantries will remain unchanged. The next ERP review will take place in November, for the fourth quarter of the year.

SINGAPORE: From July, the prevailing CPF minimum sum (MS) will be revised upwards to S$131,000, up from S$123,000. The CPF Board said the new MS will apply to members who turn 55 from July 1 2011 to June 30 2012. It was announced in August 2003, that the minimum sum would be raised gradually to reach S$120,000 (in 2003 dollars) in 2013. CPF Board said the increase in minimum sum, which includes an adjustment for inflation, is to ensure that Singaporeans set aside sufficient savings for their retirement. Members who can set aside the MS fully in cash can apply to commence their monthly payouts of S$1,170 when they reach their draw down age. Also from July, the Medisave Minimum Sum (MMS) will be raised to S$36,000 from S$34,500. Members will be able to withdraw their Medisave savings in excess of the MMS at or after age 55. The maximum balance a member may have in his Medisave Account, known as the Medisave Contribution Ceiling (MCC), is fixed at S$5,000 above MMS and this would be increased correspondingly to S$41,000, from S$39,500. Any Medisave contribution in excess of the prevailing MCC will be transferred to the member's Special Account if he is below age 55 or to his Retirement Account if he is above age 55 and has a MS shortfall. The revisions to MMS and MCC are to ensure that Singaporeans have sufficient savings to meet their healthcare expenses, and have been adjusted for inflation. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1132239/1/.html So fast increase after election. Wonder will I ever see my money?

Hi guys, As I am going to renew my road tax soon, I'm also planning to change of OPC to the revised scheme. If I were to do it at tha AXS machine, which should I do first? Revice the OPC first or renew road tax? Thanks

Just want to ask this question. If I convert OPC to revised OPC, can i drive the car immediately during the revised OPC hours? For example, can I pay on Friday and drive on Sat? Or pay on Sat and drive immediately after that? Thanks

Under New Management says the advertisement with new pricing for the Skoda range, the Superb is going for 82K++ and Octavia 2 going for 56k. Finally some competitive pricing that should kick start the market, the Octavia at that price is a steal? Kudos to the new management.
