  1. Law and Foreign Affairs Minister, K Shanmugam, said it is time for Singaporeans to seriously reconsider their driving habits. On his latest Facebook post, he said he received over 360 comments to his post on driving habits, a subject which had obviously touched some raw nerves. Mr Shanmugam said his wife has been driving for 23 years, and has never received a ticket, and is a very careful, steady driver. Turning to his own driving experiences, he said that he puts a premium on being courteous on the roads. The minister said the issue of traffic and accidents have been on his mind in the last few weeks. Last Friday, he visited an elderly woman at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, a victim of an accident in his constituency. Two days ago, he met an ambassador at a function, who felt that the driving in Singapore was worse than the experiences in her country. Over weekend coffee at Chun Tin Road, Mr Shanmugam said both he and his wife have been regularly shocked by the fairly brazen conduct of some drivers, with cars turning into a one-way street, against the flow of traffic from the main road, in order to make a three-point turn, amongst several driving habits. Mr Shanmugam said where they have been able to, both he and his wife have given the vehicle numbers to the Traffic Police. The minister felt that over the years, Singaporeans seem to have become less courteous, which indicates something about society. Mr Shanmugam stressed that how well others are treated, defines people as a society. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1222087/1/.html
  2. I think a lot of us listen to the radio and might share my opinion that we have to put up with quite a few mediocre radio DJs. But I wonder who is with me on this. This class95 DJ has been a radio personality for quite a many years now but it's shocking how appalling she is at her job. Her shows are stale and it was especially bad when she was the host during lunch-time. Her lacking of a radio personality, a character shows up very obviously then. Maybe her bosses recognise her shortfall and had her team up with the morning guys, both to add a female perspective and perhaps to inject some life into her tepid repertoire. But shockingly, she seems to have pulled the two guys down with her. Her jokes are flat, and she seem only intent to add some sound effect or mimick some accent, which more often than not is rather irritating. And obviously she has problems catching up with the two guys' routine and ends up being like an unwanted third party in a two-person conversation, breaking their flow in the process. Granted, she is new to them and need time to gel. But signs so far are not encouraging. I don't know about you guys but her show makes me crinch at times. So much so I have already stopped tuning in.
  3. Hi, My 20K is coming up soon and I am re-thinking about not changing my Aveo's dryer unit. GM has recommended changing the aircond dryer unit every 20km. My question is, why does GM recommend this replacement if it is not necessary? I don't think that SA printed this in our service manual, it has to be from GM. My son has a Hyundai, I must check his service manual to see if they recomend this replacement too. Any ideas please? I have to make an expensive decision soon.
