  1. Hi all, i'm thinking of buying a new Navara NP300 pickup truck (http://www.nissan.com.sg/vehicles/np300%20navara/index.cfm) but facing some issue due to it being too heavy and large. Firstly, season parking for open air carpark weight limit is 1800kg max. But they will still allow it if its below 2000kg but will charge you a fee of 185$ instead of 65$ then after that they would need to know if the pick up truck is able to fit into a lot. i believe they say it's max length would be 5 meter. Currently the Navara Curb weight is 1860kg Length is 5255mm I'm wondering any of you own a pickup truck that is about that length and yet still able to buy the season parking or have any advice for me? If all options are gone for that pick up truck, i'm looking at 2 models of SUV in the current market. Hyundai Tucson 2015/2016 (http://www.hyundai.com/sg/en/UpcomingVehicles/Tucson/index.html) Or Toyota Harrier (i think latest model is 2014 or 15) (http://harrier.sg) Which would be a better options of SUV and why? Found reviews of tucson but can't find much reviews on the harrier. ps; most likely after buying any of this 3, i would love to LIFT its sup higher and change its wheel thicker and bigger (popping out of its side kind). saw some people mod it and it looks awesome! Not sure where can i mod it thou. lol Thanks all!
  2. Liquor Control Zone at Geylang and Little India. Yahoo news: Stricter liquor rules in Geylang, Little India from 1 April Additional restrictions for consumption of liquor in public places will be imposed in two Liquor Control Zones (LCZ) in Geylang and Little India on weekends and public holidays, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a press statement on Tuesday. Within the LCZs, public drinking will be banned from 7am Saturday to 7am Monday from 1 April, when the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act comes into effect. On public holidays, there should be no consumption from 7pm of the eve of a public holiday to 7am of the day after the holiday. Shops in the LCZs are also not allowed to sell retail alcohol from 7pm on weekends, eve of public holidays, and public holidays. The new law already bans drinking in all public places and the retail sale of alcohol from 10:30pm to 7am daily. 'Even-handed' enforcement In previous reports, the police have said they will take a calibrated and even-handed approach in enforcing the law. This approach was explained in some detail in the MHA statement: "If a person is found consuming liquor in public places, the police will take down his particulars in the first instance and require him to dispose of the liquor. If there is public annoyance, the police can also advise the person to move on and leave the place. If he complies, no further action will be taken. If the person ignores the police’s advice, or is a recalcitrant offender, the police may consider taking stiffer actions such as issuing him with a composition fine or arresting him." link: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/stricter-liquor-rules-in-geylang--little-india-from-1-april-082710769.html Why Geylang ? 5. ST PA lifts restriction on invitees to events on PA-leased sites By Li Xueying The People's Association is lifting its restriction on who residents can - or cannot - invite to events that are held on PA-leased sites, so long as the activities are of a 'non-political' nature. What this means is that opposition MPs can now be invited to these activities. The lifting of the restriction, however, applies to only events organised by non-grassroots organisations. This latest move, announced in a joint statement by the Housing Board and PA on Tuesday night, comes in the wake of a furore over the use of public spaces in Aljunied GRC.
