Has anyone else try reseting the DSG shift points following the procedure mentioned here ? http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51206 -------------- 1 Put your key in the ignition and turn ignition to the on position (don't start the engine!) 2 Hold down the gas pedal pressing the button under the pedal for at least 20 seconds. 3 Let foot off pedal and start car. Be sure that you do no turn ignition off because that will void the reset (not so sure it still works) --------------- I am doing it once in a while and it seems to work. The DSG after the reset will not shift so quickly and eliminates the juddering from D2-D3.

Need help from you guys. My insurance is expiring and I called DA to check my upcoming NCD and quote. To my horror, I was told that my NCD is reset to 0 because I reported an accident in August. It was a minor accident (not my fault), and after the CSO checked, no claim was filed against me. She told me that if I were to reinstate the NCD, I need to sign an undertaking form to bear all liabilities for this accident. Is this the standard practice? Should I go ahead and sign the undertaking form? If I move to another insurer, my NCD would be still 0 unless I sign that form? Thanks in advance

ECU Reset Definition The ECU "learns" about your engine as you drive the car. The "learning" is actually a process that the ECU uses to track the tolerance changes of the sensors and actuators on the engine. Two examples of these values are the position of the idle-air bypass valve (automatic choke) at idle with the A/C on, and the trim gain on the injectors. The ECU stores these "learned" values in battery backed-up RAM so that it doesn't have to start from scratch the next time you turn your engine over. "Resetting the ECU" is the process of clearing all the long term memory from the ECU's memory. These variables trim idle speed, fuel, spark, and more. The ECU will also store trouble codes for diagnostic capability. By resetting the ECU, the trim values will be set to some neutral default value and all of the trouble codes will be cleared. more in here: http://buddyclub.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1934

Had this problem coming up on me after I had just sent my Spb for servicing. So had to send it back to reset the service interval. Apparently you do not need the Vagcom to reset it. You just have to press on the rignt trip meter reset button, at the same time turn on your engine and without releasing the right button turn the left clock button clockwise. The service reminder will be reset. Just something for you guys out there driving the Spb 1...not sure if it will work for Spb 2 or octys...

hello bros, i heard from a friend that if you get a class 2B licence after you hold a class 3 licence for more than a year, your demerit points limit will be reset to 12 again because class 2B and class 3 shares the same demerit points system. is this still true now? even if this is true... there's no need to put on the P plate on your car even though your demerit points limit is reset to 12 right? (but of course u still gotta put on your P plate if u're riding a bike)

My N16 Auto Sunny battery was flat as I forgot to off the parking lights. I took the battey out to recharge. Now, the car is running, battery volts 12.7, alternator charge 13.8, but idling when is Drive position and brakes on is low about 500 rpm sometimes. On the move when heavy braking when coming to stop, car vibrates and feels like cutting off ignition and steering feel is heavy like lost of vacumn assist pressure. Is there something wrong or it takes a while to adjust ?

Hi all After my ECU reset by unplugging one of my battery terminal, it seems that my car is less responsive than b4. It seems that I am loosing the low-end torque which is affecting my pickup. Does this mean that the ECU is still in a "learning" curve? Any possibility of damage to my car? Any helpful comments is much appreciated. Thanks!
