f**king horrible service from Car Lite Singapore Pte Ltd. Made a booking Mitsubishi Lancer Ex from 10/02/2023 - 12/02/2023, reach earlier prior to booking time to my shock car was so badly damaged, bumper falling off and external all scratches. No choice cancelled this booking and was stuck at the carpark for 1.5 hour plus with Evan and his friend just to see if I can book another replacement vehicle. Ended up called there customer service to complain and was told the only available car was either a van or Mazada 3. It was already so late no choice I had to just rebook and make do with this Mazada 3 which was also so cui. Bumper also coming off and so many scratches. Returned the car on 12/02/2023 way earlier to my end trip booking timing, but untill now my intitial deposit of $100 for the vehicle and my wallet balance still isn't refunded to me because they charging us for damages?! But it isn't even caused by me. P.S Just look at their website photos, car all looks so nice but in actual when you borrow the car is totally different.

Hi Guys! Have searched around car forums but haven't come across anyone who encountered the following experience yet...and would appreciate if anyone can share their thoughts... A common practice for ADs is to offer 3months/6bids non-guarantee COE packages when buying new car. I believe this means (as all SE will tell buyers) deposit/booking fee will be returned if AD fails to secure COE within 3months/6bids. Main culprits for failed bids are usually fluctuating COE prices or low/unrealistic COE rebate level offered (e.g. Toyota's recent 35K rebate for Cat A savers package). So...what happens after 6 failed bids if buyer doesn't give in to AD's mind games (e.g. top up more $ to secure COE)? Has anyone (or your friends) ever gotten their car's deposit/booking fee returned by AD before?

Hi all, I think many know that Scoot does not allow cancellations or refunds. However, apparently they have a partnership with ChangeYourFlight.com that allows some flexibility in this aspect. Anyone tried using before? I attached a screenshot of the options presented to me. Apparently I can request different amount of refund, with a decreasing probability of success. Anyone tried to request max before and succeeded? https://www.flyscoot.com/en/fly-scoot/before-you-fly/change-your-flight

wanna ask MCFer hiadees/hiabuays. My brother had a tour booked through NATAS that was cancelled. The tour company agreed to refund the deposit. He signed a paper with the company which states it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get his refund via reverse credit card entry which the bank will advise and update in his credit card account. 8 weeks had passed, nothing. Now brother is thinking of complaining to the relevant authorities. CASE as we know is toothless. Should be go to NATAS? anyone can advise or perhaps share similar experiences?

Hi everyone, I put a $3K initial deposit for a new Honda car but had to cancel the order due to some personal reason. Kah Motors not willing to refund my deposit but they willing to transfer my deposit to another buyer as a special case. Rather than forfeit all the $3K, I'm willing to discount $500 off the deposit to anyone interested to buy a new Honda. Everything will be done legally at Kah Motors so this is a legit deal. If anyone is interested or know of relatives or friends who are interested, please contact me at 98077700. Thanks.

Hi Bros, I'm unable to retrieve my refund of my refundable deposit on a baby seat. Merchant now telling me need proof of this and proof of that before they can refund me. The problem is, there was no terms and conditions to begin with and the campaign was to allow customers to try out the product to see if they like it or not. Have I interpreted the email wrongly? So now, in the worst case if they still refuse to refund me, what's my next course of action? Police case? Background info: "Congratulations on being selected as a recipient of our Recaro Privia Campaign. A great chance for you to get your Recaro Privia (infant car seat) for free now by providing a 150 SGD deposit! Don’t worry, your deposit is refundable upon the return of Recaro Privia within 3 months (if you do not like it) or trade-in value of $150 when you upgrade your Recaro Privia to any Stage 2 Recaro Car seat. What are you waiting for? Come redeem it now!"

Would like to know if it is possible to get a road tax refund because roads are not up to standard? The number of roads on construction has increased and caused damage to car suspensions and caused hazards. Ie the workers anyhow place the cones and reduce the lane size and put concrete anywhere and. Then the sign "urgent road works" always have urgent construction? In addition There are big rocks on the road - could cause massive damage if your tyre were to go on it or hit your bottom of the car. The arrows of the roads are also not properly painted after construction - causing possible confusion. The old arrow marks are not removed either Any one has an idea why they make the road in an S shape? Thanks

Any of our local authories check our credit cards companies and its offer of add-on services ??? ..... Always received calls from banks on their other services offered with the credit card.. Yahoo news: Citi to refund $700 million for deceptive card practices NEW YORK (AP) -- Nine million credit card customers will receive refund checks from Citigroup after U.S. regulators forced the bank to repay $700 million and fined it $70 million for illegal and deceptive practices. The order, coming from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is the latest multimillion dollar settlement against the largest credit card issuers for their role in selling "add-on" products to customers, such as credit score monitoring or "rush" processing of payments. Bank of America reached a similar, slightly larger settlement with regulators in 2014 and JPMorgan Chase was fined in 2013. Under an agreement announced Tuesday with the CFPB, Citi will issue refunds to 8.8 million affected consumers who paid for these types of add-on products, and will pay two separate $35 million fines to the CFPB and to the federal bank regulator the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The settlement comes on the five-year anniversary of the creation of the CFPB, which came into existence through the passage of the Dodd-Frank law that overhauled the financial industry following the 2008 financial crisis. "We continue to uncover illegal credit card add-on practices that are costing unknowing consumers millions of dollars," CFPB Director Richard Cordray said in a statement. "This is the tenth action we've taken against companies in this space for deceiving consumers." Some of the illegal activity by Citi goes back to as early as 2000, the CFPB said, and ended in 2013, and covers a range of products sold by Citi and third-party affiliates. In one allegation, Citi telemarketers were said to have sold consumers identity theft protection services with a 30-day "free" trial, when no such free trial existed; or signed up consumers for an add-on service when it was ambiguous whether the consumer actually said they wanted it. In another situation, Citi sold credit monitoring services when Citi wasn't performing such services at all, or were not actively monitoring a consumer's credit file with credit reporting bureaus. Citi also allegedly misrepresented its customers by charging a $14.95 "expedited" payment fee to customers who made over-the-phone payments and did not tell consumers about no-fee options. Credit card add-on services were a lucrative source of revenue for banks for several years, sold to consumers as ways to protect their credit scores or identities or protect them if they lost their jobs. Banks' marketing of such services largely ended after increased regulatory scrutiny. "Add-on services, for the most part, provide no benefit to consumers and people should be very careful to sign up for them," said Nick Bourke, an expert at the Pew Charitable Trusts specializing in consumer lending issues. While credit card companies have largely ended the practice, Bourke and other consumer financial advocates say they are still sold by some high-cost installment loan providers or payday lenders. In a statement, Citi said it stopped the practices and has been issuing statement credits since 2013 to the affected customers. For the customer who no longer has an account at Citi, a check will be mailed. more stories, link : https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/citi-refund-700-million-deceptive-151407945.html

Got a letter from Singtel. They are refunding a month's worth of Sports Pack subscription due to EPL coverage debacle. If you experienced the disruption in that match, you should be getting a refund soon. La Liga would be covered by Mio next season.

Feb 23, 2011 Store reneged on refund promise ON DEC 19, I bought a two-seater sofa and dining table from Novena Furniture at Shaw Plaza. I was told that the store would be able to hold the items for at least six months until my new house was ready around this month or the next. A staff member said there would be no problem regarding any changes to the order or arranging delivery at a later date. So I put down a deposit of $350 and was given an invoice. A few days ago, I came across another sofa set at a lower price. I recalled a big poster at Novena Furniture that said the store would offer a full refund if shoppers found cheaper items elsewhere. So I called the company to cancel the purchase of the sofa, but to retain the dining table. The staff member said she was unable to do so as the store's policy was that once a deposit had been paid, orders could not be cancelled. I replied that I was not told about this when I made the purchase. I also pointed to the shop's promise to offer customers a full refund should they find items at a cheaper price elsewhere. She said she would check with the manager. Last Saturday, a manager called me and offered me these options: She could allow me to switch to another sofa set, or the store could hold on to the deposit until I needed to buy another item from it. The end result being that I would be unable to get back the deposit. Such a practice should be looked into to protect the interests of consumers. Victor Chua I'm ashamed of this Sgrean. But then again, he cud be a PR.

A lady fren had a spat with a second hand car dealer. She went to a second hand car dealer, found the car she wanted. She and her fren asked the dealer...has this car ever engaged in an accident. The dealer said NO. Being ignorant, she was asked to pay 1k deposit. Den she requested a car inspection at vicom. The report was ok but she was told that this car had a accident before. She didnt like it becos she didnt want a car that was involved in a accident before and demanded a refund. She was rejected on the request. Dealer claimed the report from inspection centre was ok and therefore no refund. Her argued and demanded an explaination why he wasnt truthful on the "accident history" and coaxed her into the purchase. Isnt this ugly and misleading. What can she do now. Go CASE?

Was charged twice at bras basah carpark, any bro here knows who to contact to get the 2nd charges back?

I was reviewing my past purchase invoice/payments for my Dec 2006 Picnic and seem to me there was an overcharging in the final invoice most probably by double entries of the booking fees by BM; i.e S$6,300. Example : Car Price : S$ 82,000 Loan Amount: S$ 30,000 Downpayment: S$ 52,000 Less Book : S$ 6,300 (paid on booking day) Balance : S$ 45,700 Trade-in : S$ 40,600 (toyota 1.5) Outstand : S$ 12,000 loan Final Balance : S$ 17,100 Final Payment : S$ 23,400 (paid as per official receipt) Difference : S$ 23,400 - S$ 17,100 = S$ 6,300 (extra payment ???) Is my calculation of the extra S$6,300 payment to BM correct ? Or did I missed out something ?

http://www.straitstimes.com/ST%2BForum/Onl...ory_215089.html 14 months to learn church's decision on donation refund I WAS a member of City Harvest Church and left the church in December 2006. By the time I left, I had donated $5,500 to the church for its building fund project. After I left, I suffered financial difficulties. I was in between jobs and there were hefty, unforeseen medical bills. I was told by my friends and church members that I could seek a refund for my donation because there were similar precedents. I asked two church leaders in my group, that is, the cell group leader and the zone leader, whether such a refund was possible, and they replied that the refund would not be a problem. The next month, I was told to send an official request via e-mail to the zone leader after I asked my cell group leader regarding the status of my request. Despite constant reminders, I received no response for months. That was when I told my zone leader about my financial situation and the medical bills. He promised to expedite my request. Still, nothing happened. Finally, after 14 months since I first made my request for a refund with my two leaders, I received an official e-mail which said: 'We are unable to comply due to our policy on donations.' If it was merely a case of policy rules, why did it take so long to tell me I couldn't get a refund? This, on top of the fact that I was told at the onset that I could obtain a refund. I understand that my donation was freely given, but why the false hope? Jeffrey Lim Yin Cheong
