  2. The last few weeks has been trying and good to see what has emerged. First, there was the so called mutiny and was targetted at the mods and showed unfairness, etc and was a good avenue to see and gather feedback. I watched and did not see the need to participate as at the end, my past actions, and those who knew me and see how i act, spoke for itself. It showed that it was important to have a tight watch, and for the benefit of this place to continue. We have been here many times and again, we pulled through. Then there was the debacle of 'clones'. A mistaken identity and the like. Do not get me wrong as there have been too many clones and I also see where TM was coming from. I did my invx as well, and concurred with boss laserjet on that as not being true. I do not support it and for that to show that in all fairness, @tianmo will have a warning for that. The angst and furore that erupted leaves much to be desired on how we handle our emotions and the like in the face of adversity. I seek that we all also think about how much does a 'dislike' mean to us? Does it really? With that, I urge all to close ranks here and continue the spirit of MCF as how we have over the years. @tvt and the rest involved, I trust that you all will do the same and I will say this finally for all TVT IS NOT OWNER-DRIVER. That should clear the air and if i get wind of anyone accusing him again, that person will get a warning GOOD DAY ALL! TO MORE GOOD YEARS
  3. Restaurant Andre in Bukit Pasoh has clinched top honours at this year's G Restaurant Awards, put out by high- society magazine The Peak. The nouvelle French restaurant was named Restaurant Of The Year 2013. The win comes soon after its recent 38th placing on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, announced in London two weeks ago. It is the only restaurant here in the top 50 this year. Chef-restaurateur Andre Chiang, 37, of Restaurant Andre, says: "The award gives us great recognition. To win an international award is one thing but to know that locally, people appreciate what we do, is also important because we have a lot of loyal local guests who dine here. We need that balance." 5. Beginning to learn to take MRT to work..ahaha since my new place got MRT right at the doorstep, i figured might as well give it a try. The car can sit at home and stay nice, clean and dry in the meantime :) *goodbye massive CBD parking fees!* (until i get lazy and decide to drive again)
  6. Just got my second hand Camry, Jap made, 2.4. I would have gone for a smaller, more affordable car, but I've got a....'special' deal on this one. Heh. Well, actually, I've been driving my dad's Scirocco 1.4 over the weekend. He used my Camry instead. Discovered the pain of having a car. Went bug eyed when I parked in Esplanade and didn't know that the parking fee is $5.50. Heart skipped a bit when applying for 6 months HDB parking (nearly $600). Felt my blood slowly drain out of my body as I put in $50 worth of patrol. Well....I told myself, I'll be using this car (Camry) for 6 months. After that, then I'll decide if I really need a car.....if not, I'll just sell it off. I hope I really can make a logical decision after 6 months....
  7. http://in.reuters.com/article/worldN...37384920090111 SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singaporean member of parliament was attacked and set on fire on Sunday by a 70-year-old man who was angry at not being given a Chinese New Year gift, the country's state broadcaster said. Seng Han Thong was taken to hospital with between 10 and 15 percent burns after the assault during a ceremony to present Chinese New Year gifts at a community club, Channel NewsAsia reported on its website. The chairman of a nearby Chinese temple Aw Swee Seng, who organised the event, also suffered burns in the rare attack in the Southeast Asian city-state known for its safety. "A man ran in, lit a bottle of kerosene and threw it at Mr Seng. Half of Mr Seng's hair was burnt ... his back suffered burns as well," a witness named Zhang was quoted as saying. "The man who threw the bottle tried to escape, but some people caught him." Temple officials said the man was disgruntled at not being selected to receive the hong bao, a red envelope with money traditionally given at Chinese New Year, which contained S$200 ($135), the broadcaster said. Singapore was the first country in Asia to fall into a recession last year. It has one of the highest GDP per capita in the world, ahead of the United States on 2007 figures, but ranks alongside Kenya for income disparity. The ruling People's Action Party (PAP), which has been in power since independence in 1965, says welfare should not be a crutch and there is no unemployment benefit. Well done PAP, you have truly driven this country to the pits. From a model of excellence and consistency in the 70s and 80s, you have now transformed this armpit of a place into one that is uncaring, elitist and devoid of any human passion. While the top 10% of the country is basking in the relative comfort of the ivory tower (read: PAP cadres with their millions in pay), the others are struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table. All the members of the ruling party has never gone through hardship and do not know what the men on the ground are going through. What was once a country that I was proud to call home and defend is now a landmass ruled by a chockfull of rancid men that have got all the policies wrong. "Income disparity on par with Kenya". Now, this is something you never hear or read from our local media. I know for sure where my next vote is going.

    NS Ranks

Just curious what ranks do our forumers here hold in NS. Haiz.. Just received a letter from Army saying they promoted me to the next higher NS after 2 high keys. Is this normal? Sianz leh, higher rank means more chances of "kannaing" the KAH positions.. I already push my buddies to become the PS and CSM liao during my two high keys.. I worried with the promotion next reservist will kanna or not.. Anyone experience this before?
