wife just gave birth to newborn... intend to go with breast milk as much as possible. however, just in case not enough, may i know any recommendation for infant milk powder? i know couple of good brands out there - nan, similac, enfant heard enfant has the highest nutritional value - not sure true or not. also, heard such milk powder is heaty, as such even though newborns typically dont need plain water, should i feed the baby with plain water lest he gets too heaty.

bros who have small children. i need your opinion. My children drinking Similac. recently they jack up their price abt 20%. Coincidently I found this shop import lots things from SEA countries. Their diapers super duper cheap. normal price cheaper than NTUC on sale. Anyway back to similac, made by Abbott. Made in Ireland, distributed in Singapore abt $68 selling in NTUC Made in Ireland, distributed in Malaysia sold in that shop $55. The factory in Ireland making both is even the same. I think the malaysia one confirm safe but may be similar or at worse slightly inferior in quality. I mean sell in malaysia so what? Abbott no need to protect their reputation meh? Sell in malaysia anyhow put ingredient meh? cannot be rite? But wife say no. not safe! malaysia not safe! hahaha.. my argument is this... Imagine the Malaysia's king's or prime Minister's grandchildren drink milk powder go where buy? probably their maid buy from Jusco or Carrefor in Malaysia right? cannot be they import direct from Abbott Similac USA tio bo? How to convince my wife huh? We can afford the $68 per tin lah.. but I feel very kam lan to buy from NTUC when there is a $55 tin waiting for us to buy.....

After my Baby is born, I have been collecting her empty Milk Powder Tins and unknowingly, I have more then 40 tins in my Cabinet now. Wife is complaining why dont just threw away but is it possible to generate some money from here? Maybe sell off to some Scraped Metal Companies for recycle or just buang to save the effort. Just looking some other opporunities to earn back little cash say $15; other then throwing them away.

Seems like everywhere is selling cheese flavored stuff. KFC got cheese flavor chicken. macdonals got cheese flavour fries. Moon cake also got cheese flavors. Just today...saw DoubleDecker cheese flavour corn chips. I am addicted to anything cheese flavour. Thinking of making cheese rice and cheese flavour bread for my kid during the school holday next week. Anyone knows where to get these cheese powder? Who are the suppliers in Singapore? Not the shreded cheese...but powdery cheese that goes into the KFC n Mac, etc.

Cremation to be Replaced by Eco-friendly Freeze-Drying of Corpses It brings a new meaning to the phrase "dust to dust". Funerals in Britain could soon end with the body of a loved-one being frozen to -196C in liquid nitrogen and then shaken until it disintegrates into powder. The process - known as "promession" - could be the answer to the dwindling amount of space in Britain's cemeteries as well as being more environmentally friendly than cremation, say campaigners. It has already been given the go-ahead in Sweden, and now councils are lobbying the Government to change the law to allow it to happen here - currently bodies can only be buried or cremated. A survey of 100 local authorities found that more than a quarter were already actively considering freeze-drying bodies, the latest being Preston in Lancashire. Many cemeteries will run out of space within ten years, forcing councils to consider unpopular solutions such as "double-decker" graves, with coffins buried on top of one another, or even vertically - effectively standing up. Around seven out of ten people currently opt for the cheaper option of cremation, but that also has its problems. Burning dental fillings creates mercury emissions, and Government targets mean filters must be fitted to crematoria, some of which may have to be completely rebuilt as a result at a cost of millions. Supporters also say it boosts the environment further as it is better at recycling nutrients than burial where the body is embalmed and buried at greater depth. So as bizarre as it sounds, growing numbers of councils are signing up to the idea of freeze-drying bodies. The process involves dipping the body in -196C liquid nitrogen until it is brittle, and then placing it on a vibrating mat so it disintegrates into powder. I bought a bodykit part from overseas and when it arrived, the workmanship leaves something to be desired. To improve it, I was thinking of having it coated with another layer (not just painting over), say powder coating or with fibreglass or something durable. Anyone knows a decent shop that provides such services, possibly to paint over when done as well? I was thinking bodykit shops may be good, but this is my first time doing up a bodykit part, so would appreciate some recommendation. Thanks!

When I top up battery water today, found some white powder/chemical sticking on the battery positive cable terminal, is it normal? or the battery will be flat soon? My battery is 19 month old, and voltage output is 14.2V / 12.4 V when engine is turned on the off respectively. -

Investigators say dairy farmers may have added a dangerous chemical to milk linked to one infant death and the other illnesses. Xinhua said Friday that investigators suspect farmers added the chemical to conceal that water added to the milk. The chemical melamine would make the milk appear to have a higher protein content. An official who is part of the nationwide probe said Friday that those responsible for the contamination will face severe punishment. The company blamed its suppliers for the contamination. But a Chinese media report on Friday said Sanlu knew about the problem in August and decided not to inform the public. Sanlu waited until it became the target of a government investigation to announce that it found melamine in its products. The company issued a recall on Thursday for about 700 tons of baby formula produced before August 6th. Sanlu is a leading maker of dairy products and is partly owned by New Zealand company Fonterra. Reports say some of the products could have made their way into overseas markets. Melamine is used in plastics, fertilizers and flame retardants. Hi all, recently I bought a Simota stainless steel air filter. Having heard many comments about its filtration capability, I decided to devise my own method of testing. The Talcum Powder test This is a totally neutral point of test, just for everyone's info. If any MCFers are using any other filters, maybe can do this test and post here for compilations. This method is under my patent and do at your own risk Method: 1. Squeeze some fine baby talcum powder onto palm 2. Sprinkle powder into crevice of filter 3. Lay a piece of matte black paper on hard surface 4. Knock the filter on the black paper 50 times I was quite shocked by Simota result, changed back to my stock filter immediately Once again, I am just posting this for info, totally neutral. The first pic is the Simota SS filter end result, second one is the stock filter result.
