https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a32690069/ford-testing-software-heat-police-vehicles-kill-coronavirus/ Ford has developed and is now testing software that can heat the cabin of Police Interceptor Utility vehicles—the Ford Explorers built for police use—to 133 degrees for 15 minutes, which Ford claims can reduce the concentration of the virus by 99 percent. The software heats the vehicle to 133 degrees through tapping into the vehicle's own climate control and powertrain. Ford worked with researchers at Ohio State University to reach the conclusion that maintaining the temperature for 15 minutes was long enough to kill the virus. “Our studies with Ford Motor Company indicate that exposing coronaviruses to temperatures of 56 degrees Celsius, or 132.8 degrees Fahrenheit, for 15 minutes reduces the viral concentration by greater than 99 percent on interior surfaces and materials used inside Police Interceptor Utility vehicles," Jeff Jahnes and Jesse Kwiek, laboratory supervisors in the OSU department of microbiology, said in a statement. The software isn’t something that can only come on new vehicles; if Ford eventually makes it available, it can be uploaded by dealers into any of the 2013 to 2019 model Interceptors currently on the road. As Ford notes, this method, if proved effective, will be more thorough than using disinfectants to clean the interior of a vehicle and could be especially useful in a vehicle that may be used to transport sick. "Officers can now use this self-cleaning mode as an extra layer of protection inside the vehicle in areas where manual cleaning is prone to be overlooked," Stephen Tyler, Ford police brand marketing manager, said in a statement. "This virus is an invisible enemy, and we are proud to provide a solution to help the law enforcement community fight it."

Insane drifting - Mustang police car versus drifting bikes. (Video)
Deeq posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
There are 12 tires attached to four vehicles in the following video. All twelve tires are up to the task of delivering a serious amount of enjoyable action. The video is from Icon Motorsports, and it pits two motorcycle riders against a cop whose patrol car is a bit unorthodox. There's also a remote control truck that gets in on some of the action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te0V71sGoxA The car is a 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra that comes complete with serious drifting angles and a delicious supercharger whine. Like the car though, the bikes see fit to get just as sideways. Almost as wonderful as the driving action, however, is the road that it all unfolds upon. Apparently Oregon is hiding a motoring slice of heaven that needs to be explored in more detail. It's a twisty stretch of tarmac that has us drooling, and it's a perfect way to kick off a work week. It's also a hell of a way to advertise your products... well done, Icon.- 1 comment

What would you do if you have a Ferrari in your possession and when you want to sell it, nobody wants to buy? One of the things you could do is to turn it into a show car and that is what the Colombian national police force has done. Apparently nobody wanted to buy or dared to buy it because the previous owner used to be a drug kingpin. The Ferrari 348 TS used to belong to a dangerous Colombian drug lord named Luis Hernando Gomez Bustamante. When he was captured in 2004, the Colombian police seized his money and other properties which consist of 68 farms, 24 offices and 17 parking lots. All those items are worth over US$100 million. One of the items seized was a Ferrari 348 TS you see in the picture above. Luis Hernando Gomez Bustamante was extradited to the United States in 2007 on charges of money laundering, drug smuggling and many more. The Ferrari 348 TS was seized by the Colombian
