IT WAS their bench which they would sit on almost every night chit-chatting. But on Saturday night, Mr Mohammad Anis Kamsani and his fiancee Nurliah Sulaiman's meet up turned disastrous when a driver lost control of her car when reversing into a parking lot about two metres away and rammed into them. The impact was so great that part of metal bench was uprooted with Mr Mohammad Anis, 26, sitting on it. It was dragged away by the dark blue Toyota Corola before coming to a stop about 10 metres away. Miss Nurliah, 23, was flung to the side of the basketball court where the bench was located. Police received a call about the accident which happened at Block 221 Yishun Street 21 at about 11.30pm on Saturday. Mr Mohammad Anis was pronounced dead by paramedics after sustaining severe injuries at 11.50pm by paramedics. Miss Nurliah survived and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where she was treated for injuries to her face and leg. She was discharged on Sunday morning. - Straits Times Sad. Wonder what really happened. Maybe female driver panicked, hit accelerator even more when she wanted to brake. If this was what happened, then it's tragically quite commonplace in SG. Sigh.
