Hi, newbie here. I was quoted an Overtrade amount to offset from my DP when I approach a local AD to sell my existing car as part of my consideration to buy a new model from the same local AD. Question-1: while I understand the Overtrade help ease my DP amount (and increase my bank loan amount), I am wondering does Overtrade amount works only if I trade-in an old car with the seller? what if I decided to sell/de-register the car on my own, take the cash (after settling my outstanding bank loan)....and say comes back two months later to buy the new car, would the Overtrade concept still apply? Question-2: Why Overtrade amount varies (up to 10k!) when I asked for the nett price for different models from the same distributor?

hi guys i have a potential question here the scenario is as follows i am buying a new car have an old car for trade in the AD dealer offered me X value for my car for overtrade( as u know those AD when they take in your old cars, the value they quote is super low) however another 2nd hand dealer offered me X+ 3K value for buying my car in return, he will use another old car he has at Y value, transfer it to my name, and i use this car to overtrade with the AD at the value he sold it to me. i have to pay a small amt of transfer fee for this car ( prob 200-300 because the car is quite cheap at ard 2k) in this way, i can get additional 3K value discount overall for my new car just want you guys to offer your honest opinions, is there any gimmicks or loopholes?

Hi all What is overtrade? How does overtrade works? IS the rebate value from one-motoring is the amount that we can offset for the balance of our loan? Thanks.

Is it correct to say over trade is to take whatever loan that is remaining from current car and add this to the purchasing price of the car you getting? Can those in the know show some example?

Apparently, some car agents claimed that it is legal while others say otherwise. I am really confused. Anyone can comment ?

Heard from a friend that his agent told him of a new ruling that finance companies no longer offer extensive overtrades / cashbacks. Can any bros/sis here confirm this? If it's true, then we'll see lesser new cars on the roads
