Just sharing my own experience with Circles after reading an article on Stomp. For those who are on Circles.life, please check ur month billing after deductions. Been using Circles for nearing 2 years. Past few months I've had extra deductions for overseas data usage. Usually just negligible few cents that many people may not find worth the hassle to contact them for refund etc... For the overseas data charges, during those period I was indeed in Malaysia but data roaming already set to off and also using msia sim card. Contacted Circles.Life via the app chat and was refunded without much issues. Recently signed mum up with Circles as she was complaining Starhub bill ex and only 3GB data (on starhub old contract plan). Some hiccups with the initial signup but all was resolved. Monthly bill was $18 and would be $18 for the next 1 year. All was good until this month she told me this month her bill $38. Found it strange why $18. Never exceed also. Upon checking her app, noticed that the unlimited data setting was turned on hence the extra $20. Contacted circles via the app again and was told we'll receive the rebate in the next billing. shall see. Just read this news on stomp also seems like not a one off. For my mum's case, it was automatically set to ON for the month of October. Glitch?? Mum doesn't use the app. As with all monthly auto deductions be it credit card, debit card or giro, please make it a habit to check your bank statement. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/circleslife-gives-refund-after-stomper-finds-out-he-was-enrolled-in-unnecessary-add Circles.Life is performing a refund for a Stomper after he was automatically enrolled into an unnecessary add-on service that cost him an additional $20. Stomper Nautical said: "I terminated my line with another telco and ported over to Circles.Life. "Circles.Life has an $18 monthly subscription plan where I can get 20 gigabytes of data, so that got my attention and I subscribed to it on Oct 14. "Everything was great but after about three weeks, I received my bill. "I didn't select any of their Plus Options. The whole time I was subscribing and even before at the roadshows and websites, I never saw anything about this Plus Option. "Turns out, I was automatically enrolled in this service that gives me unlimited data. "Also, since my bill for the month of October should be pro-rated, I should be charged about $10 instead of $15. "I sent an email to Circles.Life on Nov 7 but didn't get a reply until yesterday (Nov 11). "They called me and apologised. They also said that they will waive the disputed charges. "I think they should be more transparent when it comes to billing. I was automatically enrolled and I don't even need that much data. "I only used about four gigabytes of data the previous month and my monthly subscription entitles me to 20, I don't need unlimited data at all. "What if other people were to be in a similar situation. "Some are not as tech-savvy or they may not have time to take note of these little details. Some people may find it troublesome to dispute these charges and would go ahead with paying for it. "I think it's unethical and Circles.Life should be more transparent in how they bill their customers." In response to a Stomp query, a Circles.Life spokesperson said: "We reached out to the customer via email and explained the situation. "We are also performing a refund for the disputed charge."

I went to First Center (Serangoon North) yesterday from 830pm to 9pm. When I exited the carpark, I was charged $2.14 for roughly 30mins. Got quite a shocked because I went there before and they charged by the minute. So the issue is: 1. No parking charges were displayed. Zero signs. (Can i assume it's free?) 2. No notice of change in parking charges I tried asking the security guards but they wouldnt provide me the Management's contact be it email or phone number. They asked me to go down the next day. I also Tried googling online but to avail. I would like redress as I felt cheated by the way they go about doing this.

I just now pump RM24++ of petrol from Shell at JB 大马花园 and when I come back I check my banking statement I am charged RM200!!!!! Then I call the bank the person ask me to go back to the station and check with them. So I went in again and check but the pump attendant ask me check with bank again because the receipt amount is correct so is bank error. Then I ask to speak to the boss he says boss not around and as me go back next morning. So I come back to Singapore again and call the bank again. Then the customer service staff told me usually for petrol kiosk the amount charged is not the final amount. When the merchant make a claim then the final amount will be credited to them and the balance will be credited back to my account. Anyone encounter this issue before? So I need to go find the boss again the next day or wait for the amount to be finalize as told to me by the bank customer service staff??? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Hello guys wish to gather some opinion here. Recently done a renovation to my apartment, a 700sqt studio. The electrician work includes all plug/switches changed, installing a few lamps and shifting the D/B box. Now the electrician came up with a bill totaling $2900+ here I list some of the items: Installing heater switch $120 each socket outlet $80 each shift heater switch $75 each shift D/B box $850 I have provided all sockets and switches from my own source, the old D/B boxes is re-used. Am I being carrot? I was expecting something of $1K plus since it is only a studio. Any input is appreciated.

WTF~!!!!! Does not make sense to go refund......waste more $$$ SINGAPORE: Bus commuters have been overcharged some $300,000 since distance-based fares kicked in on 3 July. This was revealed after an island-wide bus stop review by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) found errors in actual distances measured between bus stops. Commuters have also been undercharged some S$100,000 in the same period due to these mistakes. About 150 bus services have been affected by the errors. They ply routes passing some 100 bus stops across the island. LTA says all errors will be corrected by Friday. Commuters who have been overcharged will have a six-month window from 18 December to obtain refunds. Notices will be put up at affected bus stops and bus interchanges from Tuesday on how commuters can get the refunds. The public transport operators will bear the costs of undercharging. - CNA/ir

Hi all, This happened to me for at least the last 3 refueling at Caltex pump (AMK Ave 3 and Ave 1) over the last 10 days. I set the pump at S$50 twice and just a while ago S$70, however, the pump filled it to 1 cent more each time. Do not know whether this has happened before but I took notice recently. The first time I let it be, thereafter I took issue with the kiosk and they relented. Can you imagine that there are thousands of cars, and they make one cent MORE each time you pump, which a breach of agreement, in my view !! Just take note whenever you pump your fuel.

I was reviewing my past purchase invoice/payments for my Dec 2006 Picnic and seem to me there was an overcharging in the final invoice most probably by double entries of the booking fees by BM; i.e S$6,300. Example : Car Price : S$ 82,000 Loan Amount: S$ 30,000 Downpayment: S$ 52,000 Less Book : S$ 6,300 (paid on booking day) Balance : S$ 45,700 Trade-in : S$ 40,600 (toyota 1.5) Outstand : S$ 12,000 loan Final Balance : S$ 17,100 Final Payment : S$ 23,400 (paid as per official receipt) Difference : S$ 23,400 - S$ 17,100 = S$ 6,300 (extra payment ???) Is my calculation of the extra S$6,300 payment to BM correct ? Or did I missed out something ?

Read a report in yesterday copy of New Paper on the incident of cabby cheats at KL. A reporter whilst travelling in KL for a 4 km ride was charged RM60 (S$26) about the distance of Tanglin Mall to Suntec City. The taxi driver apparently had rigged his cab with a "Rocket Meter" which caused the fare meter to change at a faster rate than usual. The reporter was riding with an official from Malaysia's Road Transport Department (JPJ) who flagged the suspected taxi for a ride. They notice a wire near the driver's seat running under a rubber mat on the cab floor. (see photo attach) The wire appeared to be connected to the fare meter at one end and the other to the button that opens the vehicle boot. How the wire work was not mentioned in the report. So, beware when you are taking a taxi in KL. With the report made known in MY, I strongly believe that the taxi drivers with "Rocket Meter" will target the less suspecting tourist next. Especially Singaporean who will be going to MY during the year end school holidays. Anyone who suspect that they had been cheated could report to JPJ, Complaints and Investigation Unit at 03-0420 2223 or after office hours = 03-4023 6470.
