  1. As if the infrastructure of the MRT is not sufficient, our Hospital infrastructure is also painfully inadequate Let me cite an example. If you have a family emergency in the west, the nearest hospital is Ng Teng Fong Hospital. While that is true, it then gets complicated. It is broken down into specialities. So while its true you got to the hospital in the nick of time, you again need to be transferred to another hospital. So driving as fast as possible to the hospital is one thing. Getting the right skill and attended to is another. Now comes the complexity. After being treated, the patient will be moved to yet another hospital at A&E to transfer to the right specialist with the right kungfu. Still not an issue. Issue here is transferring to the hospital is another 25 mins. Then at the same sibling cluster like NUH, the specialist will again attend to the patient. Another half an hour. Still not an issue. The real issue here is the Specialist need to book the operating theatre which is shared by other equally important cases to be treated. So while the patient may have arrived in time. The facilities is really CMI Minimum waiting time to have an available operating theatre depends on the A&E load and the schedule at that time. So my best guess is 2 to 3 hours max from the time the doc says ok, I know what to do? Not necessary. From the near estimate, it can range from anything up to 6 to 8 hours. I was just thinking to myself. Yes, now is require surgery already so long. WHAT IF its a brain haemorrhage or worst, life-critical condition or when face with the golden hour of fixing things up because as the hr pass, the chances of full recovery slips.? Obviously, hospital care is like buying a refrigerator or washing machine. You not too bothered about the price. You probably worried the time it is available or the efficiency when you need it. But, this is really an appalling state that we are struggling with and need to be quickly sorted out. I would say, forget about the 6.5 million population. Settle the immediate need first to cater for the 4 million population before the floodgate is open.

    Large jumps in PA

http://www.tremeritus.com/2014/02/22/large-jumps-in-pas-operating-expenditure-after-2006/ Large jumps in PA’s operating expenditure after 2006 February 22nd, 2014 | Author: Editorial Yesterday (21 Feb), People’s Association (PA) gave a statement attempting to explain why its auditors had given its financial reports an “adverse opinion”. PA’s reply was duly published in ST (‘PA responds to online reports on its accounts’, 21 Feb). In the article, ST also wrote that PA receives more than $300 million from the government each year. It said: “The PA is a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and receives more than $300 million in government grants each year.” As a matter of fact, PA is receiving a whole lot more than $300 million grants from the government these days. TR Emeritus (TRE) went through the PA financial reports [Link] and found that beginning from the year FY2006, the government has been increasingly giving more grants to PA ranging from $257 million in FY2006 (06/07) to $434 million in FY2012 (12/13): And beginning from FY2006 till FY2012, the average increase in government grants given to PA was 9.3% per year: % inc in Govt Grants FY2012 2.1% FY2011 9.3% FY2010 4.9% FY2009 13.8% FY2008 7.2% FY2007 18.3% Average 9.3% This was not the case prior to 2006 when the amounts given were about the same. The smallest increase since FY2006 was in FY2012 at 2.1% after the 2011 General Elections, when PAP’s votes went down to a record low of 60.1%. Government grants to PA need to be increased because PA’s total operating expenditure has been increasing since FY2006. It was more or less flat prior to that time: In the last FY, PA’s total operating expenditure was $483 million. On average, since FY2006, PA’s total operating expenditure has been increasing at 11.1% per year. From PA”s publicly disclosed information, in FY2007, there were 1,139 grassroots organization under its charge. By FY2010, this figure shot up to 1,803 (‘BREAKING: Auditors give adverse ratings to PA’s financial reports‘). Interestingly, the increase in PA’s spending and government grants to PA coincides with the increase in the foreign population in Singapore especially after 2006: (source: DOS) Perhaps PA is trying to help in the integration of the foreign population into Singapore’s society for the betterment of Singapore. What do you think?

  8. This woman really, really hopeless , kena investigation still bo cheng hu continued her illegal activities and even opened a third unlicensed agency PR status to be revoked? From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1180130/1/.html S'pore PR fined for operating unlicensed employment agency By Monica Kotwani | Posted: 31 January 2012 1901 hrs SINGAPORE: A 30-year-old Singapore Permanent Resident has been fined S$50,000 for operating as an unlicensed employment agency. De Luna Noriza Dancel is the first agent to be convicted as the principal offender since the revised Employment Agencies Act came into effect in April 2011. She was also fined S$2,500 under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (EFMA) for employing her Filipino husband, Caladiao William Tolentino, who was without a valid work pass. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said De Luna was issued a licence in July 2010 to operate the RSD Consultancy & Services employment agency. While still engaged as director of RSD, she set up another agency with William, without obtaining a licence for it. She engaged William, who was then in Singapore on a social visit pass, to run the unlicensed agency. He assisted her by posting job advertisements, sourcing for prospective employers and employees, and collecting agency fees. De Luna's licence for her first agency expired in July last year, but was not renewed as she was being investigated by MOM for operating the unlicensed agency. MOM said despite being under investigation, she continued with her unlicensed agency activities, and even set up a third agency, again without a valid licence. De Luna and William were arrested in December last year. - CNA/al

What do you think about my desktop? It is much neater now and I changed my wallpaper to a 1080p GT5 SLS photo.

  13. Was on the PIE toward Changi Airport when saw a flash of light from atop a pedestrian overhead bridge. Copontop!! It was the famous stretch of PIE beside Bedok Town Park where the speed limit wierdly drops from 90 to 80 and then back to 90 about a km later. Did not expect it as it was 10pm last night. I think it was on the car in front of me.... or could have been me!? Will find out in a few days time. Don't expect too harsh, was keeping close to speed limit, at the most was 8-10kph above, due to the 90-80-90 effect. FYI, MCFers... MIW doing OT on Sunday nite at 10pm....
