  1. Why do/did Jap cars makers make these odd-balls cars?? (Typo corrected) Even major car makers like Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, etc do it. Odd-balls / niche models like Cube, Juke, CrossRoad, dB / Material, GT86, CRZ, Insight, Prius, Jimny, etc. Past models like Copen, TownBee, WagonR, etc. These cars have very limited market ie little profits to be made yet they take the trouble to make these somewhat "unusual" models which western car makers don't seem to be "brave" enough to produce. The designers have too much sake sometimes?? PS - Are there western equivalents of such cars, especially coming out from the factories of established cars makers??
