Hi everyone, I'm looking for genuine advice for my situation. I bought my pre-owned car via consignment thru a car dealer and took delivery of the car on 26 March 2021. Prior to closing the deal, it was our understanding that the car would still be under warranty by the authorized dealer till Oct 2022. In fact, I even paid for the car to be checked and confirmed by the authorized dealer before concluding the deal. So I've been driving the said car till Monday, 14 June when I sent it for servicing with the authorized dealer. The Service Advisor noted that the mileage on my vehicle doesn't tally with their last records! Before jumping into any conclusions, we both agreed that I should have a chat and check with the car dealer from whom I gotten my carI then wrote an email to the car dealer. No response from them after one day. I called the office line next day and spoke to someone who basically said he can't recall and have details on hand. I told him that I've written an email with the relevant details and attached reports from the authorized dealer to his company and confirmed the email address. He said would look out for the email. Few days passed and still no response. I called again today (Thursday) and spoke to the same Mr Tan. He claimed that never received any email and "don't know what is wrong". Again, I confirmed the email address. In my email, I explained that I wish to get confirmation that the instrument cluster or on-board computer of my car has not been tempered with prior to handover. I'm approaching it with a open mind that there could be other reasons why the odometer is not reflecting correctly. Or if there has been acts that put the warranty by the authorized dealer at risk, we should explore our options to resolve the issue. So I'm all ears to what I should do next? I've written few emails to the car dealer and followed with a couple of re-sent. But the Mr Tan simply claimed "never see". What else can I do? Go onto their Facebook page and try demand a response? I don't wish to suggest that they could be into the "tempering odometer" as it could be disastrous for their business. But I should also be fair to myself too, right? If I should send the car to the authorized dealer for a deeper probe, it could result in immediate void of my warranty. And the odometer discrepancies would be all on me! Thank you all for reading patiently and help. I welcome all actionable suggestions.

What's on your mind when you saw your old car on road or when you saw it on SG CAR MART used car listings? For me, first question: "Wa lao eh...how much mileage the dealer tampered?"

Was at a dealer to view an OPC car last week. Saw mileage was more than 30,000km. Just saw the car on sgcarmart and it says less than 20,000km! Wondering whether the dealer might have tweaked the odometer. Anyone knows whether this can be done?

I know increasing wheel size will cause the speedometer to reflect a lower speed than the actual. So is that the same for the odometer?

Nampa man sues Nissan over odometers 11:44 AM MST on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 NAMPA -- One of the top five carmakers could be headed to court. That after a Nampa man filed a civil suit against Nissan North America. The accusation claims odometers in some Nissan vehicles are rolling-over before the miles are actually put on. KTVB Phillip King is suing Nissan North America, claiming that there could be problems with the odometer readings on his Nissan vehicles. Changed my alternator and power steering belts recently. My nissan sunny 1.5 FC increased from 12.5 to about 14km/L. Never changed the tyres. Has my calibration been screwed up or is my engine maturing?

Can anyone confirm if the recommended servicing intervals by SA (1000km, 5000km and 10000km) is by mileage or odometer reading? I thought its by odometer but... ...went for my 1st service at 1000km and they put a reminder sticker thats states next service at 6000km (odometer reading). If this is correct, the next scheduled service after the 6000km should be 16000km (6000+10000km). Somehow I think they wrote wrongly or I misinterpret their definition.

Hi Bro... I collected my optra last sunday. This morning, while driving to work, found that the speedometer (the meter display with km/h) did not response well. Noticed also it can't go down to "0" when the car completely stop. It will remained at certain speed even though I slow down the car, the pointer will move down only after awhile. Anyone encounter such problem? The SE told me not a serious problem. Have made appointment to service the car for 1000km service 2 weeks later. Will try to rectify this problem then.
