Anyone knows the owner or anyone related to the above mentioned car? It's alarm was activated and its blasting its horn continuously(throughout the day and night) for the past few days. It's parked at ball 124 Geylang East Ave 1 car park. The police came but they only took down the numbers and nothing else. And it's causing a nuisance to the residents.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJjh7lW5OZE From the land that brings you the Golden Horse Awards comes a series of fake accidents intended for insurance claims. The latest incident shows a young man who simply walked onto the road right in front of an oncoming car and squatted down. The best part is, the car has sufficient time to slow down and avoided the pedestrian. This public nuisance is probably risk-adverse and hence resulted in the failed attempt. The footage looks rather hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDfy6lxuSgo This incident is not the first of its kind in Taipei in recent weeks. Previously, a young girl simply run towards a car and threw herself onto the bonnet, pretending to be injured. The whole incident was captured by the CCTV in the car. Well, at least this young lady is braver than the joker above. However, it looked painfully silly as well. The pair should get some acting tips from the winner of the 2011 Golden Horse Award Best Leading Actor, Andy Lau. Try harder next time!

Not sure why ever since the authorities announced they intend to implement the Do-Not-Call thingy at the last quarter of next year, I have been bombarded with <ADV>.... SMSes ever since on a daily basis. Many are from property agents and really a damn bl**dy nuisance especially during working hours. They should have enacted this law like ten years ago... From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_783205.html Nuisance canvassing for unsecured credit Published on Mar 30, 2012 ALMOST every other day, I get a deluge of telephone calls from banking telemarketers urging me to take up the banks' unsecured credit facility, usually with some sweeteners like zero per cent interest for the first few months. As if this is not enough, my mailbox is also filled with mailers from various banks enticing me to sign up for their easy credit, ready credit or whatever name they call their unsecured credit. Typical tactics involve sending a blank cheque addressed to me, coupled with a mailer on zero or low interest rates for the first few months. While the Government has tightened rules for licensed moneylenders, the nature of unsecured credit extended by banks to individuals is very similar to that of the loans extended by licensed moneylenders. The Government should look into the marketing tactics adopted by banks with respect to unsecured credit extended to individuals. James Wong

Hi all, Do you find flyers that usually clipped to your wiper, a form of public nuisance? A friend told me people who do that are litter bugs, irresponsible and create problem for others. He never read those flyers and have to dispose them for the irresponsible. So, do you find these flyers a nuisance and do you really read them? Regards,

I have noticing quite a number of cars fitted with HIDs that aren't properly installed - the kind that totally kills your night vision even if you try not to look directly at them. Those cars that come with factory-fitted HID (usually) have more diffused beams that do not cause a nuisance to other road users. Case in point, I was at the carpark next to Liang Court over the weekend when a Toyota Ist fitted with such HID was waiting for a lot while I was trying to get out of the carpark. In frustration I switched my lights to high-beams. By this time he was trying to back out of the carpark as well, so I simply aimed my car at him and followed his car (and shining my headlights back at him) till he managed to do a three point turn (I drove past him as he was doing the three pointer). I had half a mind to wind the windows down to ask if he knew his headlights was that blinding, but decided that exchanging words wasn't a good idea. It was also so bright I couldn't really see his licence plate either. I have no issue with properly fitted HIDs, be it factory, or a lower-spec car upgrading to a higher-spec car's projector HID beams (eg. 1.6 FD Civic using the 1.8 or 2.0 Civic's HID lamps) but I think drivers should be responsible for ensuring their headlights don't blind other people.
