TL;DR- Cam car driver posts a video on Facebook trying to get people to side with him because a car “almost” hits him, gets called out for pettiness and trimmed video. East side best side? Sure there’s some good food there (shoutout Wild Olives and The Basil Inn) but there’s certainly a case to be made that the East is overrated. Case in point, dealing with entitled drivers like this one. What happened? A driver in Pasir Ris was exiting the driveway of Pasir Ris St 21 when a Toyota Altis tried to pass a stationary taxi in front of it, forcing the car to go against the flow of traffic and create a standoff with the cam car. After a few seconds of tense inactivity, the Altis backed away a bit and the cam car promptly moved forward as well. The video soon ends. So? The cam car posted this video on Facebook with the caption “PHV vehicle was impatient and filtered out dangerously almost hitting my vehicle. Cutting across single white line and driving against traffic. Tp report had been filed.” It’s giving “Karen” vibes but otherwise it’s a perfectly reasonable complaint. However, the beginning of the video clearly shows the cam car moving forward long after the Toyota has stopped. And that there is still an acceptable gap between the two cars. So even if the cam car was “almost hit”, it would arguably be its own fault. But let’s go deeper. As previously stated, the Toyota had only backed away a small distance before the cam car moved forward (0:16). This doesn’t help the cam car’s statement of “almost being hit” because it’s reducing distance between them and would instead turn the caption into “got hit”. Even if the Toyota was initially in the wrong, the cam car is not helping things. The Clowning Begins Facebook users were quick to ask about how the cam car filed a report for something as small as this. Others also pointed out that it's ok to overtake the taxi as it was a stationary vehicle and the video being trimmed. Suffice to say, the comments were not in the cam car’s favour. Watch the 10-second video below to find out what it means. What happened The incident occurred along Bukit Panjang Ring Road at about 6.45pm on 7th of December 2022. A blue/purple Honda Fit filters onto the main road and immediately changes lane recklessly. This abrupt lane change causes cam car to jam the brakes and depress the horn. It’s a short one today but let this serve as a public service announcement of sorts. Moral of the story There will always be idiots on the roads like this. TL;DR – A Toyota Wish with p-plates dangerously cuts in front of a cam car, beats the red light and almost gets t-boned by another car There’s a reason why car insurance companies charge a premium for new drivers. This 62-second video is one of the reasons: What happened? The video starts off by highlighting the exciting bits (think that’s the format SGRV is going for these days). A Toyota Wish dangerously cuts in front of the cam car and it looks like it’s a very tight pocket of space too. But, that’s not all, the Wish then blatantly beats the red light too! Which then also results in another car almost t-boning it. The heck is wrong with this driver? How many demerit points? Let’s count the number of demerit points this new driver racked up shall we? TL;DR – A Range Rover enters the main road via a small lane along Braddell road without looking out for oncoming traffic. Cam car manages to evade a T-bone incident with the Range Rover, but it almost came with a huge cost. Wow. Father and son almost get crushed by C-HR with p-plates

TL;DR – A parked C-HR with p-plates suddenly accelerates and almost mauls a father and son at an open-air carpark. Things would have gotten ugly if they had been one second slower. There can be miracles While some of us might not be believers, a recent video uploaded on Roads.sg might change your mind. The incident occurred on 10th September 2021. Here’s the 35-second video: A one-second difference between life and death In an open-air carpark, location unknown, a father and his son casually walk past a cam car. If you observe the video, you’ll notice a black Toyota C-HR directly opposite the cam car slowly inching forward as the father and son enter the frame. The C-HR then suddenly accelerates and crashes into the cam car just as the lucky duo clears the danger. If it had been a second earlier, the father and son would have been caught in the collision. Let’s address the elephant in the room I’m sure everyone noticed the p-plates on the C-HR. Could it be because of the driver’s inexperience? Or it could have been a case of the driver talking on his phone? He was wearing his wireless earphones. And, if so, why wasn't his handbrake up? The conflict between motorists and cyclists never ends. Every time it happens, a dashcam video emerges on the internet for us to spectate the drama between them. Here's one such video that occurred over the weekend. Where? The incident occurred at Kranji dam, along Kranji Way, which is a two-lane road. It seems as if Tour de Singapore is the favourite pastime of Singaporeans these days and it's commonplace to see big groups of cyclists on the road nowadays (as though the pandemic is already over). Road regulation reminder for cyclists Cycling abreast is allowed, but only on roads with more than one lane in the same direction. Below is an example where cyclists are allowed to cycle abreast. In this case, cycling abreast is prohibited since Kranji Way is a two-lane road going in opposite directions. Increasing the number of cyclists does not mean you can flout the regulations. Don't give me that 'strength in numbers' bull crap. The Van Driver The van driver was obviously feeling a tad bit frustrated from the road hogging of the entire kampong of cyclists. As such, he took matters into his own hands by crossing the double white lines to go against the traffic flow to dangerously overtake (but failed) the group of cyclists. That's three offences committed within quick succession of one another – The perfect formula to getting your license suspended or revoked. Netizens' Comments Straight facts. This incident happened on the 17th of August 2021, Tuesday @ 11.15pm A Mazda 3 driver exiting the Sengkang General Hospital carpark failed to stop at the stop line which almost led to a collision with the cam car that was travelling on the road perpendicular to the Mazda 3. A grey Honda Stream driver almost caused an unnecessary accident, by abruptly changing lanes without checking its blindspots. A Honda Stream driver that did a last-minute lane change, resulted in a near-miss with a motorcyclist. Luckily for that ignorant driver, the motorcyclist’s defensive reaction kicked in, and he managed to perform an impressive evasive manoeuvre to avoid the Honda Stream. Subsequently, the enraged motorcyclist rode alongside the Honda Stream to confront the driver but was shrugged off. Our road community could certainly do without entitled drivers who show blatant disregard for road safety. #Respectforbikers According to Singapore’s traffic rules, offenders will face a composition fine of $100 for their failure to signal. Entitled pedestrian forces cars to stop for him while he jaywalks

An entitled jaywalker was caught "using the Force" to make cars stop for him as he crossed a traffic junction while the traffic lights were red. The short video showed a camcar driver attempting to turn right at Wellington Circle when the light was green, only to suddenly stop short when the driver noticed a man jaywalking across the road. As if stopping the car was not enough for him, the man had his arm stretched out to signal for other vehicles to stop for him as well. Very similar to using the Force (Star Wars reference). According to the driver, he felt that it was not wise of the jaywalker to risk his life as not all drivers might be paying attention while making a turn. Jaywalking is a chargeable offence. First-time offenders will be issued a fine of $50 while repeat offenders will be issued a fine of up to $1,000- and 3-months jail! Netizens' reactions Some of the comments make for very good captions. Pedestrians should be considerate and avoid jaywalking to prevent accidents from happening. Caught an Audi A8 with zero road etiquette along Lower Delta Road

I guess money can't buy proper road etiquette, can it? On 5th May 2021, a short video was posted on Facebook of an Audi A8 driver driving recklessly along Lower Delta Road. It's so bad that I even experienced some serious second-hand embarrassment from watching it. For those of you who cannot stomach the video, I am going to provide a play-by-play description of the incident below. So, we start off with the camcar driver, who is innocently drives along the road and slows down when approaching a red light at a traffic junction. He stops behind a black Audi A8, which continues to inch forward past the white line with total disregard to the red light. The driver continues to try his luck and even attempts to turn right while there's traffic coming from both sides on the adjacent road. As if realising that there's no way the universe will let it turn right, the Audi suddenly reverses and almost hits the camcar. Once the lights turn green, the Audi wastes no time zooming ahead without stopping at the right turn pocket. The driver positions the Audi dangerously near oncoming vehicles as if asking for an accident to happen. The Audi edged so far into the lane with oncoming traffic that it even made a silver vehicle stop dead in its tracks to avoid a collision. To carry on forward, the silver car had to manoeuvre itself around the Audi in an awkward fashion. If you thought that was all, think again. There's more! When the Audi driver saw an empty pocket of space, it sped off to complete the right turn, but there were two oncoming vehicles that could have crashed into the Audi if they had gone any faster. Netizens quickly took to the comments to voice their opinions (with some speculating that the Audi driver is either drunk, high or does not have a driving license): Simplified translation: 'You have to wait for death if you want to reincarnate, what's the rush?' TL;DR – Cyclist flies into a rage and blocks traffic when cam car driver honks at him. Yet another road rage incident by a cyclist who thinks he owns the road. I’m all for keeping fit and healthy. If people think cycling does that for them, I’m no one to judge. But, when it starts to endanger the lives of others, we need to draw some lines. Let’s take today’s video for example We have a cyclist who raises his right arm, indicating he would like to turn right. Under the rules and guidelines for cyclists, there’s no wrong there - 100 points for you sir. But why did he not check for oncoming traffic from behind? Putting up your hand does not automatically give a cyclist the right-of-way to ‘suka suka’ change lane and endanger other road users. You still need to check your blind spot for cars, yes? Even when you’re driving a car or riding a motorcycle, you still need to check your blind spot for vehicles if you signal left or right to make a lane change or a turn. And why so angry? The video has no audio, but from the body language of the cyclist, it’s pretty apparent that the cam car driver honked at the cyclist. The cyclist proceeds to get off his bike, obstructs the cam car and challenges the driver to come out to confront him. Comments This cyclist deserves an A for effort at following the rules and regulations but going through the motions without situational awareness is a fail. Till the next one!

Cyclist avoids death at junction along Bukit Timah like a whizz-ard

Just when you thought that things could not get any more ridiculous, Singaporeans will never fail to disappoint. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you today's magic trick: a cyclist with a death wish. It's pretty jaw-dropping even if I say so myself. What went down Despite this video only being 46 seconds long, I re-watched it no less than 30 times! While all the cars on the 5-lane junction wait patiently for the lights to turn green, this cyclist shoots pass the red light onto oncoming traffic adjacent to the five lanes. Like everyone in the office who watched the video, I thought he wouldn't make it, but somehow, he did! Just to clarify, I do not condone or approve of such behaviour. He could have caused heaps of trouble for many people besides himself. He almost knocks down a couple of pedestrians I counted three or four cars that could have collided with him AND A BUS If you thought he got into an accident and the camera did not manage to capture it, watch till the end of the video. you'll spot him cycling along the road with not a scratch on him. Consider my mind... BLOWN. Is he some kind of immortal being? Meanwhile, netizens had lots to say about the cyclist's stunt: I sure do hope that our cyclists in Singapore take more caution while they're out cycling on the road. TL;DR – Ang Moh cyclist harasses Lexus RX by cycling in the middle of the road, obstructing its path and swerves between cars dangerously. Here’s another reason LTA should come up with some sort of SOP for cyclists to make them accountable for their actions. In this 70-second video, you can see the male cyclist cycling recklessly to harass the Lexus driver. Putting not just himself but other motorist in danger. Cyclist vs SUV The cyclist blocks a Lexus RX on the first lane along River Valley Road near Liang Court. Honestly, I’ve watched the video like twenty times, and I still have no idea whatafrak the cyclist is doing. 1. He’s cycling without placing his hands on the handlebars of the bicycle 2. His chest and stomach are exposed (eww?) 3. He raises his right hand as if indicating he’s turning right, but he doesn’t turn right Where it happened Just in case you’re a little disoriented and unsure where this incident took place. What’s the trigger? It looks like the cyclist was trying to indicate that he wanted to turn right on Mohamed Sultan Road, but the Lexus did not allow him to do so. In response, the cyclist gives the SUV a shove and dangerously swerves through the cars in front to get ahead of the Lexus and block the driver’s path. Chitter Chatter It’s just a matter of time. There are cyclists out there who abide by the laws. Please don’t ‘sabo’. Thanks.

P-Plate VW Passat driver flexes lousy driving skills for the world to see

TL;DR – VW Passat P-plate driver gets mad when he gets honked at for not stopping at the stop sign. Goes all aggro on cam car in front (with high beam and unnecessary lane cutting). Question: What’s worse than a P-Plater who doesn’t know how to stop at a stop sign? Answer: An angry P-plater who doesn’t know how to stop at the stop sign. What did you learn at driving school? I don’t know about you, but when I was learning how to drive, I’m pretty sure failing to stop at a stop sign was an immediate failure. Then we have this Passat driver, fresh out of driving school with his p-plates, not applying what he learnt less than 12 months ago. Here’s the video Wow, the audacity of this one Cam car gives a warning honk to the P-plater to avoid a collision. But that doesn’t sit well with the P-Plater. He proceeds to tailgate and highbeam the cam car in an aggressive manner. If you thought that was all, towards the end of the video, P-plater swerves out of the lane, speeds up and cuts into cam car’s path like a maniac. Am confused What confuses me the most is that P-plater swerves back to the right lane after all that recklessness. Making him look like not just a prick, but a real noob-#$%^ driver. Enter truck But then, the dog, oblivious to traffic, almost gets run down by a truck. The truck manages to swerve out just in time and saves the pooch from doggy heaven. Why Drivers Hate To See Cyclists To all cycling enthusiasts and pro-cycling people, this 'PBK' in the video is one reason why drivers hate you. He's cycling on a footpath when he should be on the road 2. He does not check his blind spot 3. He makes a 'lane change' to the road with total disregard to traffic This incident happens along Mandai Road, near the Mandai Crematorium (which is where he would have gone if he had been run down). What's worse, from the cam car's footage, it looks like it might have hit the KIA Niro in front that had to do an emergency brake (the recording cuts off before any impact, so I can only speculate). A video of two drivers speeding and almost crashing to their deaths seems to be circulating on social media, Whatsapp groups and Telegram chats. Here's the link to the 14-second video. They almost died In the video, you can see both the BMW and dashcam driver take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision with a stationary vehicle on lane 1 (rightmost lane). If they had crashed, based on how fast they were going past other cars on the road, they would have died. Online Chatter - Pro or lucky? I'm not even sure whether to be horrified or impressed by the display of lightning quick reflexes in the video. Netizens seem to be leaning more towards impressed. Indeed. They are waiting.

This PMD rider makes a woman scream her lungs out. Have you ever made a woman scream with at the top of her lungs? Well, I think we have a clear winner here. First posted on Stomp, this masked PMD rider nearly got hit by a car after beating a red light at Bedok North Road. A video was posted at SG Road Vigilante of the incident that occurred on Sunday (12th Apr), at around 5.27pm, according to the time-stamp. The woman in the car can be heard screaming as she barely manages to stop on time, narrowly avoiding the PMD rider. For those who do not know how a woman screams, please watch this. Thank goodness that there are no injuries between the driver and PMD riders, for neither the car workshops nor the hospitals are keen to take up more jobs at this moment. Remember to always keep a safe distance, both when heading out and when you're on the road.
