I've a few old Eneloop in my drawers, wanted to use a multimeter to measures their capacity in mA. According to some forums, using multimeter to test the batteries can cause the eneloop to burn, is that true??

hi there.. :) need some advise here.. i am interested to do some measurement of the temperature and voltage measurement on my car.. I like to measure the pressure also.. at the intake and engine bay.. where can I buy one multimeter or anyother tools that can do this? how much? thanks!! :)
