Around 9.07am today, a plane crash occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, South Korea. According to Jeonnam Yonhap, Jeju Air flight 7C 2216, which had flown in from Bangkok, Thailand, with 175 passengers and six flight attendants aboard, veered off the runway. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Jeju Air, carrying 175 passengers and crew, crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. The incident is believed to have been caused by landing gear malfunction following a bird strike. Initial firefighting activities at the crash scene concentrated on extinguishing the aircraft, while rescue efforts prioritised evacuating passengers from the rear section.
